I flew on AA on Dec 17 from ALB to TUS with a change in ORD. The 6:15 am was cancelled due to a mechanical problem--a part had to be flown in. I used a wheeelchair to get to the gate. Although I can walk down to the plane, the attendent suggested that I remain in the wheelchair and I would be boarded early. I want to highly recommend your employee, Bernard. He changed my seat to one closer to the front of the plane and when we had to deplane, he immediately booked me on alternate flights to DC, ORD and TUS. As it turned out, the needed part arrived, the plane flew to ORD and I did not have to go through DC at all. But Brnard was by my side during the whole process. I want you to know that his service was above and beyond what was expected. I hope this letter is put into his employee record for he made my day so much less stressful! read more

Since American Airlines is touted as one of the biggest in the world, as a consumer I have certain expectations such as procedures and processes for when a passenger leaves something of value behind on one of their planes. This is what happened on a recent trip, and what ensued warrants any number of descriptors but for now, I'll use 'a slap in the face' and 'a disgrace.' Picture this: you left a brand new phone worth several hundred dollars on a plane seat largely because you were feeling under the weather. You notice the missing phone only after you return home and it's past midnight. Apparently the airline uses a third party company to handle lost and found, so you file a report as soon as you can, and they tell you it takes up to 30 days (?!) for them to get back. Weeks pass by and no word, and you're left wondering: how and why in the world does it take that long for them to get back to you? Who found my phone and what happened to it? What's American Airlines' actual process for handling and returning (or not returning, in this case) any valuable passengers leave behind on plane seats? Mystery not solved. read more

I tried flying American Airlines for the first time in my life. I have never had a flight delayed so badly that I missed my connection in my entire life, flying with other airlines. First time, the flight is delayed over two hours, causing me to miss my connection. I go up to the American Airlines desk to talk about rescheduling the flight and the lady took one look at me, turned around and walked through a door and shut it in my face. I then could see her peeking through the window at me to see if I was gone, and didn't come out until I walked away across the room. I will never under any circumstance use this airline again, and I will tell everybody I know to make sure to do the same. If I could give it less than one star I would. Exhausted, frustrated, I loathe this airport and all of the workers. The following employees should be fired immediately due to general lack of competence to say the least: Rania and Vickerey Colton. All employees working from 9 am through 4 pm EST should be GONE. I can give you twenty people per brain cell each single one of them has. Embarrassing for Albany airport. Completely disjointed. Incredibly unprofessional. Total lack of guidance and help, these women across the board should be fired. read more

I understand that sometimes flights get cancelled and rebooked but i am curious as to if anyone has received compensation or vouchers for the disruption. We had Flight 729 from London to Philly cancelled and we were rebooked to arrive at our final destination 6 hours later. Due to this we missed our booked ride, and couldn't get on our scheduled ferry. So we paid for an uber, a night in a hotel, another uber to the ferry in the morning, new ferry tickets as they weren't transferable, and our airbnb host charged us a late check in fee for being a day late ? things happen and flights get cancelled i know this. but i put in a claim and was expecting something for the additional costs totaling around $540 but have received no answer does anyone have any experience with something like this read more

Arrived for morning flight but there was no airplane. They had to fly 1 in from Philly. 2 /12 hr delay. Just in time to see my connection flight leaving the terminal. Put on stand by. 3 flights later I caught a plane.Not one employee was helpful. Actually told it was my fault I missed my connection. Needless to say I missed my family function schedule for that evening. Returned on Southwest. Who held plane for 10 minutes for connecting passengers from another flight. After contacting AA I still haven't heard back. Will not use AA again read more

The flight was uneventful thank goodness. We were even early to arrive by 15 minutes! I had a connecting flight. The first plane out of Albany was so small inside. I would hate to be an overweight person trying to fit down that tiny aisle and into those tiny little seats. They certainly don't take into consideration that people come in all sizes. They seem to just get smaller and smaller with their space! The second plane out of DC had a little bit more legroom but it was kind of dirty. They really need to step up their cleanliness game. I pulled out one of the pamphlets from the seat pocket and it had a dirty tissue stuck to it and another one came flying out when I pulled out the pamphlet. Ew. The floor was just gross. The crew was nice and they got us there safely which I guess is the most important thing. Not a horrible experience. I've had worse. I do appreciate them getting me to my destination safely. read more

I arrived at the gate at 5:00AM for a 5:14AM direct flight to DC. The attendant, "Rania" explained that boarding ended 15 minutes prior to take off. I am now watching the plane at the gate before it takes off. 5:19AM. I have to now wait until 7am to take 5 hours to get to DC instead of the 1 this flight would have taken. I will do my best to avoid American Airlines in the future. read more

I will never ever fly American Airlines again. Last time our flight was canceled and we had to drive. This time, on the way up they mis-directed our luggage. When it finally arrived it was damaged. Now, on the way home our flight was so delayed that we would miss our connection. Nothing else out today so they offered us a room at the Super 8. I looked up reviews and they all said that the hotel is also used as a homeless shelter. So here we are at the Albany Airport Hilton which is out of pocket for us. Hopefully we will make it home tomorrow. I am never flying American Airlines again. read more

Extremely rude. Flight delayed and pushed back 6 times and kept getting rebooked. Supposed to leave at 11:30am and at 10pm they didn't want to officially call it yet but pilot came out and said he wasn't flying past 10:50 and the aircraft wasn't working properly with the computer. They said they ran out of hotels with shuttles and told me to" google something". The lady was extremely rude and I finally ended up getting a room at the super 8 but had to pay $25 each way for an Uber. They said they could only rebook me for the next day with a flight with four layovers and one that wouldn't get into my destination until after 8pm read more

They have an older crotchety lady working that wants to put everything before the customers infront of her which cost me not being able to check a bag. The security throwing out over a 100 dollars in shampoo conditioner and body wash from ulta. And not being able to check in the remains of my brothers I was taking out west to spread so I had to go throw extensive screening and barely made my flight. If I could of gave a big fat 0 for a review today I would. And lady whoever you are you should think about retiring or being more considerate! read more

Flight AA6259 from Albany To Philalphia Sue and Christina B. working on June 26, 2021 around 12pm were checking out bags to make sure it fit the airplanes shelves. They checked two of our bags and made us open our bags to take our stuff and move it over to a different bag. My family and I felt we were unrightly checked and many other people had bigger bags than us visually and were not checked but they required a thorough check for ours, due to our race. (We are all asian.) My daughter had needed to move the wheels to fit the bag check and they took that as the bag was too big and proceeded to check my bag which the front pockets had my medication and was only bulging a little. They made me open my bag then and there with no privacy and had us move the medication to my daughters bag. They kept us there talking about whether or not the bags would fit and after a few minutes let us go to TSA. This was an unnecessary search as they didn't do it to anyone and our bags clearly fit the container and they still kept us and invaded our privacy. read more
