OMG! I got mussels, lox, swordfish, trout, tuna steaks, halibut, and the most giant shrimp you…read morewill ever eat!!!!! I cannot tell you how amazed I am at the quality. Holy fresh!!!!! We instantly joined the club for extra discounts and can't wait to come back for more. We also got lobster rolls to go and HOLY COW the meat was plentiful!!!!!!! I normally got seafood from Whole Foods or other "upscale" grocery stores. I noticed that the mussels from the Fish Guy are bigger, firmer and very "upscale restaurant" quality. I didn't realize how much I was missing out!!!!! I love this place!

I hate knocking a small business but it's really hard to be excited about my experience…read more Pre-ordered a lobster roll and the mussels for 2 (which comes with most things you need). The lobster roll was mostly bread and very little lobster. The lobster in it was very small, stringy pieces and nothing like the large chunks in their own Instagram images. I would be willing to pay more for a better sandwich with more (and better) lobster. It wasn't premium lobster in look or taste to be honest. This sandwich, in its current form, is a hard pass. Mussels were okay. A few that didn't open, but that's to be expected. I'm not sure how fresh they were since they had a bit of a fishier scent. They give you a head of garlic, a lemon, a baguette and a tub of compound butter. It's great in theory, but the butter was tasteless and I could just as easily used my own butter and other ingredients. The customer service was okay. We called ahead to make sure they had all of the elements of the mussels as part of the package and the person ringing me up still had no idea what I was talking about. In the end she made sure everything was there after I brought it up so it was fine. One other issue I had was that they just put the mussel mesh bag in my bag and they leaked mussel juice/water over everything else in the bag. Two of those things were tinned fish gifts for someone else and the cardboard was soaked in fishy smelling liquid. I know there is a new owner and I really hope he does the things he needs to improve and make this place worth it. Right now I can't see going back when there are places like Boston Fish Market that get it right.
