Received appointment fairly quick. The tech is ok. Very slow at reading my mri and report to physician. Reports should not take a week.

Be aware- they don't see kids under 10. Otherwise, a very well run office with a very good staff.

Tech was crabby and impatient. I was kind of anxious and that seemed to aggravate her. I would NEVER recommend this place. I left.

I CANNOT squat, run for 15 seconds, or even walk without aggravating them. Everything was fine until the technician called me in. She wasn't friendly to begin with. She introduced herself with her back towards me as I was getting ready, and she had a mask on. It made it hard to catch her name. Once she turned around she began giving me the 3rd degree on why I was there in the first place. I'd explained to her what's been going on, as though she's the doctor. I can already tell that she was annoyed with me already, by her body language and tone of voice. She then questioned me whether or not if I've had anything done prior, such as an xray, mri, etc. I said no, and I then proceeded to tell her if she has any questions that she should consult my doctor and not me. She then proceeds to tell me that she shouldn't have to and that I should be answering the questions. The technician should've called my pcp with any concerns regarding other test. I'M NOT A DOCTOR! She finally begins the testing. Once she was done she excused herself out of the room before telling me she was done. I was still lying there, which was NOT a problem. *THIS IS ONLY AN ASSUMPTION *: she most likely needed to either bitch and vent to the staff that I wasted her time because she found nothing! She comes back in and tells me that I'm all done. She created that tension in the room for me to assume the worst of her. ***I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT IFTHE TECHNICIANS WOULD DO THEIR JOB AND BE QUIET!*** I'm NOT there for any judgment, especially if I have a referral. Even if I didn't, still be quiet if you're just a rude person in general! The receptionists were very nice, but even they were questioning me about my bilateral issues. I'm guessing my technician was making them uncomfortable that the felt obligated to question me, as though I'm some sort of hypochondriac.

Staten Island care is acceptable at Regional Radiology but do not expect same as NYU Manhattan…read morefacilities affiliated with Perlmutter Cancer Center mammography ultrasound, or bone density equipment and technical and physician staff to be same as Manhattan facilities located at Langone etc.. My experience in Manhattan facilities as far as appointment wait times were on time but at Regional Radiology the wait times before and after imaging for checking are long. The main reason I use the SI facilities is because it is convenience for travel and in Staten Island. Also Dr.'s in Staten Island Regional Radiology in my experience, mammography, breast ultrasound, are not physically present at the facility at the time of the appointment because they read the images from home via medical approved internet. I had asked to speak with the manager and asked why I was not able to speak to or seen by the radiologist since at the at the nyc city facilities I was, to go over any questions and to look physically at me for any lumps etc of concern. At Regional Radiology, my opinion and experience only, the technologist contacts the radiologist physician and describes concerns etc. to the radiologist reading the images, and one time I was connected to the radiologist on the computer and on the phone. Not the same as an in person exam. I was told by the staff manager that in the future, before making an appointment, to ask if and when there will be a radiologist on sight for the day of your appointment, as mentioned most are working from home. Regional Radiology facilities throughout SI have been affiliated with NYU for some time now, and acceptable by some of my NYU Manhattan doctors depending on imaging needed, some physicians in Manhattan prefer NYU Langone, Perlmutter Radiology, or imaging facility at the Orthopedic center on E38 th Street. My Manhattan Dr.'s, some will accept REGIONAL RADIOLOGY, so I opine only in my experience and health situation. The physicians I use will also let me know which facility they would prefer. Please know this has been my experience only and Regional Radiology in my opinion has improved since they have been affiliated with NYU, but again, in my opinion they still need to be more on board in their practices with the facilities in Manhattan.

My wife came here for a thoracic mri…read more The process of getting the mri done was smooth and hassel free, but the real issues came aftwards. She came here becase she has severe back pain, and the doctor wanted to see what was going on. Scolosis is a known issue of hers, but they wanted to see what else was going on. The report came to the docs office several days later, and to the docs surprise, the report said everything looked normal; no scolosis, no bulges, nothing. The doc asked that we get the films so she can review. My wife goes to the imaging place, and has to argue to get a copy of the films. Films go to doc, doc sees scolosis, herniations, disc degenerations etc. My wife calls the imaging place to just let them know what happened, and the owner was arguing with her and getting defensive. He barely let her get a word in, even though all she wanted to do was let them know about the error in the report. I got on the phone with him, raised my voice a little, and told him to get new radiologists. the location was very convenient, but not worth all the other issues we encountered.

After initially scheduling an appointment I was contacted by the office manager. She informed me that I would be required to pay a few hundred dollars up front in cash for my MRI (knee). Since I am fully insured I was surprised to hear this and asked the office manager to explain why this was necessary. She didn't explain the reasoning behind my supposedly required payment but made sure to make it sound as if I was somehow better off paying this money up front as opposed to having the procedure billed through my insurance. She even indicated that she had spoken to a healthcare rep from my plan on my behalf and learned that I had not yet fulfilled my deductible. At that moment I simply agreed to her proposal and made an immediate call to my healthcare provider. They assured me that I would simply be responsible for 20% of the procedure as billed since I had already met my deductible and indicated that I should under no circumstances be paying up front for ANY procedure. On the day of my appointment the office was late opening by approximately 15 minutes (I had the first available appointment of the day). After informing the staff at the front desk that no up front payment was forthcoming and filling out the necessary paperwork I was seen shortly thereafter. The technician was pleasant and competent. No problems there. The amount I was eventually billed by my insurance provider was less than half the amount the office manager originally proposed that I pay them.
