I started seeing Dr. Guirguis at PDC ultrasound this September. This is my first pregnancy. I am…read moreType 1 diabetic so I knew that I needed to see a specialist with high risk in pregnancy and diabetes. Dr. Guirguis was recommended to me by someone else who was diabetic and they had a great experience so I figured I would give the office a try. His computer system is able to link up with my NYU computer system so he is able to see all of my sugars just like my endocrinologist. I have had the greatest experiences so far. Doctor Guirguis immediately lets you know that you can reach him at any time with any questions or emergencies and he means that. This is something that I don't think most doctors are willing to offer patients. I reached Dr. Guirguis via texting and phone calls for a few scares & the office immediately let me come in that day for an emergency scan. I don't think many places do this. I was also able to reach him after with follow up photos and updates. I also reached Dr. Guirguis when it came to scares with genetic testing. He immediately guided me on what my husband and I needed to do in order to get the right testing done quickly. After speaking with the office, I realized that the doctor was answering me about this via text while on a vacation out of the country and I had no idea. The office workers are great. Jennifer at the front desk is always so pleasant, and keeps you upbeat and happy while taking your bloodwork. They take your blood and send it out there so you don't need to go to a separate lab. My big anatomy sonogram scans have been done with Raquel. She is fun, pleasant, answers every question you need and lets you know exactly what she sees. She allows you to leave with pictures, and I always leave happier than I went in. My emergency scans have been done with Blenda. She is amazing! She has kept me completely calm twice when I could be in a big panic. She is gentle, kind, and understands the scare of being a new mom. She also answers any question you need on the spot. Again, I have always left feeling better after working with her. I do not have enough nice things to say so far about this office. Looking forward to all of my following appointment appointments up until May with them.

I never once felt rushed during a sonogram, and any questions I had were always answered thoughtfully and with genuine understanding. Nothing was ever overlooked. When I was told there was a concern for potential IUGR, Dr. George recommended that I come in twice a week. At the time, it felt like a lot--but now I fully understand why. He didn't want to take any chances. He was incredibly attentive, proactive, and on top of my situation right up until I gave birth. He carefully analyzed every angle and helped determine the best and safest route for my delivery. Toward the end of my pregnancy, I wound up having very low fluid and my baby wasn't getting enough nutrients. Because of the frequent monitoring, this was caught at the right time, and it truly made all the difference for both me and my baby. I went on to have a great delivery and a healthy baby, which I am endlessly grateful for. Even after delivery, Dr. George came in to check on me and my baby. His warmth, compassion, and genuine care are truly unmatched. The entire staff at PDC reflects that same level of kindness and professionalism. Booking appointments was always easy, communication was seamless, and my needs were consistently met. Even to this day, Dr. George and I have a wonderful relationship. He will always feel like family to me, and I will forever be grateful for the care he gave me and my baby. I cannot recommend PDC Ultrasound highly enough.

Staten Island care is acceptable at Regional Radiology but do not expect same as NYU Manhattan…read morefacilities affiliated with Perlmutter Cancer Center mammography ultrasound, or bone density equipment and technical and physician staff to be same as Manhattan facilities located at Langone etc.. My experience in Manhattan facilities as far as appointment wait times were on time but at Regional Radiology the wait times before and after imaging for checking are long. The main reason I use the SI facilities is because it is convenience for travel and in Staten Island. Also Dr.'s in Staten Island Regional Radiology in my experience, mammography, breast ultrasound, are not physically present at the facility at the time of the appointment because they read the images from home via medical approved internet. I had asked to speak with the manager and asked why I was not able to speak to or seen by the radiologist since at the at the nyc city facilities I was, to go over any questions and to look physically at me for any lumps etc of concern. At Regional Radiology, my opinion and experience only, the technologist contacts the radiologist physician and describes concerns etc. to the radiologist reading the images, and one time I was connected to the radiologist on the computer and on the phone. Not the same as an in person exam. I was told by the staff manager that in the future, before making an appointment, to ask if and when there will be a radiologist on sight for the day of your appointment, as mentioned most are working from home. Regional Radiology facilities throughout SI have been affiliated with NYU for some time now, and acceptable by some of my NYU Manhattan doctors depending on imaging needed, some physicians in Manhattan prefer NYU Langone, Perlmutter Radiology, or imaging facility at the Orthopedic center on E38 th Street. My Manhattan Dr.'s, some will accept REGIONAL RADIOLOGY, so I opine only in my experience and health situation. The physicians I use will also let me know which facility they would prefer. Please know this has been my experience only and Regional Radiology in my opinion has improved since they have been affiliated with NYU, but again, in my opinion they still need to be more on board in their practices with the facilities in Manhattan.

In the past three years, I've had enough scans at Optum Radiology (previously ProHealth Medical…read moreImaging) to glow in the dark. Why I've never rated this fine establishment is beyond me (maybe I left my brain in the machine?). Entering the waiting room, it's always clean, smelling a bit 'crisp' with a hint of Clorox disinfectant; Aaahhh... Just the way I like it! The front desk had two lovely young ladies willing to check me in and hand me the necessary paperwork I needed to fill out prior to my tests. I sat down to complete my scribblings, signed my life away, and handed my papers over again. I was greeted by their radiology tech, Ken. Ken was a doll! He did a visual scan of my person, in search of metal (eg: jewelery, watches, perhaps an under wire bra, etc.), while explaining what I was in for. Ken showed me to a locker to place my things securely and discreetly, and then escorted me to the MRI room. The MRI was of my cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine - all three in one shot; Two hours in the MRI tube. Fun fun fun! Ken did a great job making sure I was as comfortable as I could possibly be. He gave me a wedge to place under my knees and a blanket to cover me, up to my shoulders. It was like being 'tucked in' for a very noisy nap. In between each section of my back being scanned, Ken used the intercom to check on me and make sure I was still doing well and didn't need a break. When the test was finally completed, Ken helped me off the plank and gave me an estimate of when results would be in. Incredibly friendly, compassionate and helpful staff. Five-stars, no question.

I CANNOT squat, run for 15 seconds, or even walk without aggravating them. Everything was fine until the technician called me in. She wasn't friendly to begin with. She introduced herself with her back towards me as I was getting ready, and she had a mask on. It made it hard to catch her name. Once she turned around she began giving me the 3rd degree on why I was there in the first place. I'd explained to her what's been going on, as though she's the doctor. I can already tell that she was annoyed with me already, by her body language and tone of voice. She then questioned me whether or not if I've had anything done prior, such as an xray, mri, etc. I said no, and I then proceeded to tell her if she has any questions that she should consult my doctor and not me. She then proceeds to tell me that she shouldn't have to and that I should be answering the questions. The technician should've called my pcp with any concerns regarding other test. I'M NOT A DOCTOR! She finally begins the testing. Once she was done she excused herself out of the room before telling me she was done. I was still lying there, which was NOT a problem. *THIS IS ONLY AN ASSUMPTION *: she most likely needed to either bitch and vent to the staff that I wasted her time because she found nothing! She comes back in and tells me that I'm all done. She created that tension in the room for me to assume the worst of her. ***I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT IFTHE TECHNICIANS WOULD DO THEIR JOB AND BE QUIET!*** I'm NOT there for any judgment, especially if I have a referral. Even if I didn't, still be quiet if you're just a rude person in general! The receptionists were very nice, but even they were questioning me about my bilateral issues. I'm guessing my technician was making them uncomfortable that the felt obligated to question me, as though I'm some sort of hypochondriac.
