We honestly expected a typical 'used car' experience with a salesman saying anything to get us to buy...you will NOT find that attitude here. Rob was professional, in a friendly and easy to talk to manner, and their intern, Ben, was just as nice outgoing as well. Rob and Ben were able to put us in a car I never imagined I'd be driving...so they really helped make a longtime dream of mine come true. (I included Ben, because he refused to go home until he knew what the outcome for us was going to be. (Hang onto this one, PMA.) You can look at other places, like we did, but ultimately you will do yourself and your wallet a favor by coming here. Be sure to ask for Rob, he won't steer you wrong.

We rented a car online about 4 weeks before our vacation last week. We also chose Diesel as a choice - on the reservation form, as something we required. I showed up on Friday, February 21st to pick up my vehicle. I actually informed them that I did not need the vehicle immediately but that I would pick it up later that day. I told them I had a reservation for something resembling a small minivan that was diesel. The lady at the desk informed me that they had some kind of Nissan SUV that was regular gas or an Audi Wagon A4 that was diesel. (cue the crickets) What? I made a reservation, on the reservation page they showed things that I would have gotten but were displaying as not available. For example I would have gone with a BIGGER wagon that was diesel. Or a Ford SMax Minivan that was diesel. They were all listed as unavailable. So the next best thing that was available was something resembling a VW Touran Diesel - or something in it's class. I looked at their site again and neither the larger Nisaan SUV or the Audi A4 are in this category. I was stuck. We needed a vehicle. I reserved this online. I showed up. I did not want to be charged for canceling the reservation on the spot. I needed a car and I knew that SIXT has been considerably reliable. So we got the Audi A4 Diesel wagon, as it was the only diesel thing on their lot that wasn't smaller than a Mini Cooper. We reserved a bigger car because we were going skiing, not because we were two childless adults going on a beach trip and only needed to pack our bikinis. We were going on a SKI TRIP WITH TWO SMALL CHILDREN. Maybe Sixt workers do not have kids? So they think you can pack two small children and their crap load of ski winter clothes into the glovebox of a mini cooper (they are small right? so their stuff is small?). I used to love SIXT but I can now say I will not be renting from them. After we jam packed into the car and went on a SKI TRIP for a week with TWO KIDS....I will be suggesting everyone take their business elsewhere, even if it costs a few extra dollars. It was not worth the hassle and insanity that we experienced.

If you do turn it in without them there take pictures of the car but this still does not help you. Go to another rental agency or you will be scammed and owe about $1000.00 or more to them.

We had an excellent experience with this Avis location…read more To be fair, we have 'preferred' status because we rent a lot of cars. Our plane was delayed for hours at departure meaning we landed in the afternoon instead of morning. When we didn't show up, the Avis agent called and left a voice message that our reservation was being held for us until we arrived. Very much appreciated the call, and that that they kept our reservation. As part of our preferred status this location was able to upgrade our vehicle choice to a Cupra. This is a nice little car. Smooth ride, plenty of safety options and great pick-up. Surprisingly, it is an automatic as well. The car was very clean. The gentleman at the counter was very helpful. He inspected the vehicle with us before we drove off and he explained how damage is calculated. Part of the information they give you is a little scale to measure any scratch or dent. Parking especially is tight and although Germans are very careful with their vehicles, dings do happen. The tank was full, and he let us know to bring in the gas receipt when we drop it off. Easy to fill the tank before drop off as a gas station is almost across the road. Drop off was quick. He checked out the car with us again. Called us a cab and was very courteous and friendly throughout our interactions. Next time in Ramstein we would happily rent from this location again. 8:30-10, 4-5:30

Totally fine rental place. Mom and pop type operation. Friendly staff…read more Low cost, accepts VAT, you have to vacuum and wash your car before returning it, there's a cap on mileage. You can rent a manual transmission car, if you're interested. You also get what you pay for, so don't expect anything fancy or top of the line. If you need to extend your days, you have to do it in person. I rented for about a month. It was easy, aside from the vacuuming and washing, which I'm not used to doing with rental cars. If you're on base, I suggest Sixt or Hertz, for convenience.

With less than an hour to get to Frankfurt to pick up my family on their flight, I was starting to panic. That's when I called Michelle at Hertz Ramstein. From the moment I explained my situation, she went above and beyond to help. She searched for anything I could use, found an available vehicle that fit my needs, and had it ready for me before I got there. Michelle didn't just "get me a car"--she genuinely cared about making sure I got that days situation under control. Because of Michelle, I was able to pick my family up on time. Instead of canceling my reservation they charged my card the rental amount anyway. When i called to request a refund they first couldn't find a reservation under my name even though i provided my information. Then they hung up on me...i called back and was told i needed to come in the office because they didnt show where my card was ever charged. The manager is clueless and always calls on her subordinates for help....if i could give this place 0 stars i most definitely would. Worst customer service ever!!! Never again! Go to sixt on base!!!

They were able to help me out the day I walked in and they all spoke perfect English and were super helpful. Every time I needed to return the car for something they worked with me and even if I had an issue they immediately fixed the problem. When I had an issue with a tire, they met me on base, dropped off a loaner vehicle and towed the one I rented back to their lot. Then in a few days called me, I picked it back up and went back to my life. When I turned the vehicle in they were very reasonable and even worked with me for the turn in. I definitely recommend them to anyone needing a vehicle.

I looked for WEEKS online for a cheap SUV for when my family was coming to visit and Roland's Auto Agency was by far the cheapest. I rented a nice SUV with plenty of storage space for all the luggage my family had. I rented the 9 passenger van, after turning in the SUV, so I could take 7 family members to Munich and we had a blast. It had a huge trunk for my crazy overpacking family and they all had plenty of space to stand and stretch when needed. Just when I thought I was done with renting vehicles, we planned a very last minute trip to go to Amsterdam. I called them, desperate for a vehicle, and they had one ready and waiting. I was so grateful to all the ladies that are working there. There was a moment where I was skeptical, when I was turning in the SUV the first time, they saw a big scratch on the very low end of the bumper that I didn't even see when I first rented it. She asked if I hit anything and I knew I did not so I let them know it wasn't me. She said she will check the last rented documents and see if the scratch is indicated and it was thank god. I didn't want to pay for something I didn't do but she was very diligent and took the extra necessary steps to verify if I did the damage or not. I will not rent from anyone else while I live here in Germany. And all three rentals I did, they were able to put them all on one VAT form so it saved me a bunch of money and hassle as well.
