It's been almost 10 years since I last saw a movie at the AMC Wayne. Instead, we choose to go to the CINEMARK on the other side of Willow Brook Mall. Recently though, we went to to see Wicked for Good on Christmas Day. The staffers at the ticket scanning area were all friendly and nice on Christmas. We took the escalator to the second floor theaters. When we were close to the top, I looked back and down to see the concession stand and lobby on the first. I had a flashback to the 90s. Despite AMC Wayne in need of a refresh or update, it looked to us like the theater still is well maintained and kept clean. The only negative thing that happened involved the lights not being lowered/turned off. Wicked for Good started and the house lights were still 100% on. My husband ended up going downstairs to the ticket scanners to ask them to rectify the situation and shut off the lights. Things happen, but it was surprising it happened. Very surprised at how much it has improved since the last time I was there! They have upgraded to the recliner seats, which allows for more space and comfort. The attendants at the concessions were very nice and quick with our order. The popcorn does sit there for a bit, which is different than with other movie theaters I have been to lately, but it's all about demand so if no one is getting it, I get that it makes no sense to continuously make it. The parking lot is a bit tight, I think it would be a good idea to expand into the lot behind as we had to sit for a bit and wait for someone to leave. read more

Came for a showing of Babygirl with Nicole Kidman. I walked right in without reserving my seats ahead of time and still managed to get decent seats in the third row. The concession stand line moved fast and efficiently. Staff is friendly. The theater itself was clean but ours was on the second floor and will say the stairs and escalator leading upstairs were so dirty. It made me question the cleanliness of the theater as a whole. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but this experience was so disappointing that I feel the need to share. My boyfriend and I purchased two sodas before our movie. We were juggling coats and food, and unfortunately one of the cups rolled straight into the garbage can almost immediately after we bought it. We went back to the employees we had just purchased the drinks from and explained what happened, asking if we could get a replacement cup. The employee stared at us and told us to retrieve the cup from the garbage can and wash it. After paying an absurd amount for an already overpriced drink, being told to dig a cup out of the trash was honestly shocking and unsanitary. That response alone made me regret supporting this AMC Theatres location. To make matters worse, none of the soda machines had syrup. We tried multiple diet and regular options, and every single one was just carbonated water. Completely unacceptable. Between the lack of basic customer service and the broken soda machines, this was a terrible experience. I won't be returning. Cinemark for the win. read more

A friend and I were here yesterday to see mission impossible 8 the seats were comfortable and roomy aisle was wide it was non stop action from beginning to end. I bought tickets on Monday January 5th for January 10th at 7:30 for Avatar fire and ash at this location. First when I come in they checked me in with no concern and didn't even hand me the 3D glasses and I had to go back and ask for them. As i get to my theater the movie isn't playing and its 8:00. I go to ask what is going on and the management tells me the movie got moved to 8:30 yet I got no email or message regarding this change. As i come in and take my seats that i payed for, about two families come in saying we have their spots when in reality the theatre overlooked that people had same seats. on top of that the movie wasn't even in 3D, i payed extra for something that didn't even happen. So disappointed!! if there were still people by the time i noticed everything, i would have asked for a refund but everyone was gone so i left instead of arguing with other people about seats. read more

Come to this theater when in the area...staff is friendly with easy to check in..If you order tickets ahead of time, show tickets on your app. AMC A-List, bring your id with you. Seats are all reclining and some theaters have heated seats. There is also some theatres with open captions. Watching movies in the Prime theater is great - feel the vibration with all the action scenes. Concessions - there is a wait at times, so go early and know what you want. Restrooms - could use some attention. It would be helpful if movie goers help keep it clean when they use as they do at home... if not clean, let the staff know so they can address the issues. Ample parking lot and easy to get in and out of the theater and plenty of places to after the movie in the area. read more

Average movie theater but have always found it to be pretty empty just when I need it to be for example earlier in the day and about a week after the movie is released. It's a movie theater so I don't expect spotless. Great reclining seats. I have the Stubs reward which is great for accumulating points for $$ rewards. Good service. The straws they give out suck though but eco friendly. read more

Holy shit! I've been to a few AMC theatres before but this one blew my mind. I really don't care what theatre I go to, I suspect most people really want a time and place that is convenient but that all changed the other night. These seats recline all the way and someone could walk by without me even having to move. If you have an AMC membership, you can purchase tickets at a discounted rate without the transaction fee. We bought the tickets online and we're able to get inside to watch the movie quickly. We didn't buy any overpriced snacks, but the picture of them on the refreshment/snack stand looked good. There was plenty of parking and prices were reasonable/competitive. The bathrooms were clean and the water fountain works. read more

Great place, but needs a tad bit more TLC. My wife and I really love coming to this AMC. It is in a great location with a private parking lot! But please note, that the lot and entrance is in the back of the building! I know it is a bit confusing if you have never gone before. So far we have seen 10 + movies here, and we usually have a good experience here. Lets start from the beginning, as I mentioned, the parking lot is in the back of the building, as is the entrance. The lot definitely needs to be repaved... And sadly overall the customers do a terrible job of cleaning up after themselves. Its noticeably slightly dirty with trash just left behind inside and out. Side note, I highly recommend becoming a rewards member! $15 a year and tons of perks. Inside is clean ish, but people leave trash in random places, and there is not enough staff to be their mothers and clean up after them. They also should wipe down the soda machines and that area more often. Food/snacks is fast if you are a rewards member.... And you get tons of discounts! I know that they updated the seats since we have been last, but when we were there, they had couples seats, and I believe that they are all now individuals. I could be wrong though! Never really had an issue with any movie we saw here, or had an overtly bad experience. My biggest gripe is that customers do not clean up after themselves. All in all, theater is a good location to watch any movie you want that is currently in theatres. read more

I have to say I was really impressed with the theater. I expected the run of the mill theater but I was pleasantly surprised. The lobby and concession area is nice and I appreciated that they still have staff on hand in addition to automatic ticket machines. It has been some time since my last visit to a theater, an AMC theater specifically but the actual theater was great. It is so efficient now that you pick your seat so you can take your time a bit more when getting to the showing as your seat is set. When you go in, the row and seat numbers are appropriately labeled so you aren't confused and you can quickly and easily navigate to your seat. Of course this is easier before they dim the lights for the show but I like this. After you are seated you are treated to reclining seats that have 2 settings of heating! I think this is really cool. The theater was clean before showing and immediately after my show was over a staff member came in to do it again so I like that efficiency. My only gripe with this theater is I was confused with the parking. I parked on the 'right side' of the building where there are only exit doors. Then I walked the wrong way around to get to the entrance. This could easily be fixed if they had signs and arrows telling the direction of the entrance if you park here. Sure people who have come here may know this, but I didn't and had to circle the building looking dumb. Also there are a lot of geese hanging out outside which I'm sure is difficult to control, but they should try. A goose hissed at me as I was leaving the theater. So overall interior is great, exterior needs some attention. read more

Visited recently for a showing of MCU's End Game on opening weekend and it was a full house. The screening rooms were a bit smaller than what I'm used to but served to provide a big time experience regardless. The seats were a bit dingy, there was popcorn in the crevices of the seats, but there probably wasn't much time between showings to properly clean. There are assigned seats here which is nice not to have to get here early and hold seats for friends. Finally the seats here have heating as a option which I've never seen before. The concession stand line was long but again given it was opening weekend of a big movie, that was to be expected and it moved quickly. I order led about 30 items and there wasn't a single item missed. A part of the parking lot is a complete mess with ripped up asphalt and a nearby garage off limits to moviegoer parking so be careful where you park. read more

AMC Loews Wayne is the closest theater to me and definitely one of my most memorable places being that this was one of the firsts destinations I drove to all by myself when I finally learned how to drive way back when. This place was initially so outdated, dirty and just sad looking that I didnt even want to review before knowing I would just be writing so much negativity. However, my wish has come true. You dont know how many times I've hoped that they would renovate the place since i really believed it had potential especially since it was close to the mall and a few restaurants and more importantly to me lol 15 mins drive Well 2018 is indeed a good year! As soon as I walked in around Aug/Sept my love for the place was rekindled. The new carpets and painting was refreshing to look at, the leather seats were comfortable and made me giddy and the renovated ticketing booth and snack area almost brought tears to my eyes. Thank you to whoever made this possible. Rest assured my AMC stub card has a special spot in my wallet and is definitely at risk for damage due to overuse. read more

Went there to see the 1 and only showing of "What's Love" and they cancelled the showing with technical difficulties. It's not playing any other time or any other day. That was it. And we missed it. A separate note, the escalator was so skeevy it could make you sick. read more

I rated this movie theater in Wayne, NJ 45 stars. I never have any complaints when I come. I enjoy the pleasant, peaceful atmosphere, and cleanliness, the bathrooms are clean, and the customer service at both counters is kind, and gives off a welcoming feeling to visitors. I especially can compliment the food service worker, Dorian (not sure if that's the correct name) I took especially notice how kind, helpful, and skillfully he treated and serviced each customer with the utmost respect and was proud to see that. That's why this is one particular reason among many other positive reasons, Therefore, I would recommend this movie theater. read more

My whole family left with headaches and ringing in our ears. They blast the volume so loud. We had our fingers in our ears during the action scenes, but we still probably have hearing damage. The facility is disgusting with trash everywhere also. I gave 2 stars just because the seats are very comfortable. But they really need to clean and check their audio settings with a decibel meter. read more

AMC WAYNE 14 is great! The reclinable heated seat options are a plus. They are now bringing the popcorn and any other online order to your seat. I've done this option twice now and my popcorn is always on time and warm. You dont need to do the line which saves you time and stress. 4 stars only because of cleanliness. read more

On November 10, I came to see Met Opera in HD "Marnie". I had purchased the ticket along with reserved seating online. A concession is available for drinks and food. No alcohol is available here. I just had water and yummy pecans. The theater was very clean. Just in case you wanted to keep your tush warm, the reclining seats have heated controls :) I like that the theater steps are labeled and lit with letters. It made it much easier to find your row and seating even in the dark. This lighting does not distract from viewing the movie. Also, I liked that the Synopsis for "Marnie" (Met Opera in HD) was handed out to audience members prior to the showing. Some other AMC theaters don't do that or they don't have enough handouts for everyone. I would like to mention, that the Met in HD is a wonderful opportunity to see 1st class opera at a much cheaper price. In addition, you get to see wonderful backstage interviews with the stars. Also, the storyline is discussed. Anyway, I definitely recommend this theater. Lots of parking is available here. read more

Watched Aquaman here last weekend and our group of 7 enjoyed the experience, all in all. Reserved seating and power reclining seats are becoming increasingly popular and prevalent, but this was the 1st time I went to an AMC theatre that had their PRIME setup. This setup features "power reclining seats with seat transducers". Basically, your seat shakes as if it's lined with powerful subwoofers and it can really enhance the experience when a movie calls for such enhancement. For Aquaman, it worked pretty well but I did feel like it was overkill at some points and that the shaking and sounds was a little distorted/too rumbly. It's a little louder, in general, than your usual theatre so beware of that if your ears are sensitive. The screen itself was acceptable. Not IMAX but not nearly as expensive either. We didn't grab any concessions so can't speak to their quality or pricing. Parking lot was not a terrible walk. Overall, a solid experience which could be even better with some tech adjustments. The theatre itself was well maintained and the seats worked fine and were fairly comfortable and wide enough. Certainly a theatre I'd come back to when in the area. read more

Come on, AMC... this place is disgusting. Not only are the seats not recliner but they're definitely the dirtiest out of any theaters I've been in the last few years, and that includes the ones in NYC. Look at the two photos for examples, but seriously, its atrocious. You actually have to search for clean seats, and literally more than 1/3 of the seats are stained. I couldn't tell you what kind of stains they are, but I always assume the worst. Do better. read more

Came here to watch Black Panther since every other theater was basically sold out. I am purely basing my review off the theater in which i watched the movie since we did not have much time to explore the lobby. Smell of the rug confirmed that its time for a change and the seat cup holders were broker and swinging from the seats. Also two rows in front of our seats we almost witnessed a law suit when a person sat down and the chair literally fell of the stand. Wouldn't come back to this location. Renovations are needed ASAP. read more

I think this place has seen better days for sure. It's obvious that this place is old and aging fast. Itis keeping up to date as far as the snack menu is concerned. There are a lot of options to choose from now. However, prior to making it to your seat you basically need to meander yourself dodging pot holes, and driving in what looks like abandoned parking garages. I'm an AMC stubs member, so I rarely need to get in line for tix, but from the looks of it, this place can get to be a bit busy at times. I believe all the theaters here do have heated recliner seats which definitely draws me to this place. However, a lot on more occasions than I would like to admit, sometimes the heated seats aren't working. Also, at times the audio quality isnt as crisp and clear. read more

I have a massive headache from the Dolby theater. Asked two employees to turn down the volume during previews, but was told the volume was preset and they probably couldn't. My child sat there with her hands over her ears because it was so incredibly loud. We couldn't even stay and watch the movie, that's how unenjoyable the experience was. We were refunded our tickets as we had to leave during the previews. read more

This is a pretty decent movie theater tucked into the back of Willowbrook. It's got a huge parking lot for a relatively small theater. Prices weren't bad, definitely way cheaper than catching a movie at the AMC at Garden State Plaza. Concessions are overpriced as usual, and the theater was pretty empty, but then again, it was a Monday. The theaters are on the smaller side, they don't have reclining seat or stadium style seating. The seating was nice and clean, the viewing room seemed clean, But the rest of the theater was dirty. I think the manager should be fired immediately. Two people with cleaning supplies could clean this place up in a week. There is dust on everything, Whomever mops the bathrooms doesn't get anywhere near the baseboards. I have been waiting for the stock to finally bottom out so i could buy some, After seeing this theater I have to pass. I assume they are going to close, No business would neglect their facility like this if they planned on a recovery. After seeing all the dirt and dust I could not bring myself to try the popcorn.
