How did I never know this theater existed?! My cousin came from out of town and we wanted to see a movie around a certain time. Couldn't find but than my cousin told me to check this theater out. It winded up being perfect. The time was perfect for both of us. Parking was quick and quick ticket purchase. Made my way to the concession stand and headed straight to the movies. Now the place is a little older but what it lacks in just age they made up in the quality of seats. The seats were so spacious my big ass still had room. To top it off the seats really reclined back, like give me a blanket and I'd fall asleep. It was that comfortable. We loved the comfort, sound, and snacks of the movie. Great place to see a movie. Service and ambiance are excellent. Processing of seating beyond great. Also a wonderful place to take friends who do not understand English well enough because this theatre is wise enough to have certain showings with Spanish subtitles or dubbed. My, oh my. I tried to remember how many years it's been since I visited this theater and couldn't recall but looking at the last reviews, it's been many many years. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it's still up and running, brings back memories. It was clean, not as packed as the theater I normally go to, and I they had me at reclining chairs (only needed a cozy blanket, which I'll bring next time lol). I had to drive just a little longer to come here (vs another one close to home) but it was worth it. It was also a bit cheaper than what I normally pay. I'll be coming more often! read more

This theater was just ok. Even though renovated it still feels old. In fact the whole shopping center feels old and dirty. Even though I live close to this one, i prefer driving a little further to the regal in Kendall. Our seats weren't reclining at first and we had to get an employee to reset them. Went to this theater to see Wicked with my sister. Everything for the most part was good. The staff were nice, the seats were comfortable and upgraded, the bathroom was clean. The only issue was there was a weird smell around the seats my sister and I sat at, it smelled like some old cheese. Overall, good experience 4/5 stars. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but this experience was frustrating enough to share. I specifically asked what time the bar opened and was told 5:00 PM. I waited and came back at 5:25 PM, only to be told by the bartender that he wasn't ready and needed another 15 minutes to set up. I didn't waste my time going back for the third time to see if they ever opened. For a theater that promotes alcohol service as part of the experience, this was disappointing and poorly handled. We bought tickets online... excited to see the movie, we bought food and drinks there and when we get to our seats, one of the seats was completely reclined (lying down flat) and it was broken, would not move to the original position. I got someone to help us, they couldn't fix the seat, the theater offered us two seats but they were not together and that is not exactly the date night we wanted. Yep, this is one of my favorite theaters because it has the reservable reclinable seats. I came here with my brother and some friends to watch Wolverine and Deadpool and I have to say it's my favorite theater experience. It's so comfortable, the staff is quick and efficient, and it was just a perfect movie experience. There's nothing like really reclining your feedback lying down and watching a movie and just relaxing and escaping into all the craziness of film like this. I love it and I recommend anybody who wants to have a great movie experience that come to the tamiami 18. Really, get yourself a nice seat and just forget about everything for a while. read more

This is the worst customer service I have received in a movie theater period. After spending 42 dollars on water and popcorn I requested a cup with ice. I was given a 4 oz cup and told that if I wanted anything bigger I would have to pay $7.00. The manager Nick was rude, nasty and disrespectful. His assistant some young snot girl was just as misinformed. They say that in order for me to take pictures here I would have to ask for permission because this is private property. Someone please inform these two that they have no expectation of privacy in a public place. This place is dirty and wasting money here is absurd. The bathrooms are equally disgusting. The front counter was filled with dirty popcorn and butter plus soda drippings all over it. I will not recommend this place at all. I rarely leave bad reviews but this was too much. read more

Sunday Matinee during COVID. Loved seeing all the precautions they are taking to make going to the movies not only fun again but safe. This theater is my go to. Its very comfortable, easy parking, clean, affordable, reserved seating and the best reclining chairs. For our safety, everyone has to wear a mask unless your eating fresh buttery popcorn or some other goodies. They are operating at only 40% capacity so its pretty empty. Reserve your seats ahead of time and they automatically block off the chairs at the end of your selection. That way there is space between you and the next party. Also, before you enter the auditorium there is a big bucket of disinfecting wipes for your convenience and comfort. After my movie they came in with a disinfecting spray to sanitize the whole place. Go out there and see a movie so we can keep our local AMC theater open! They have great ticket prices and right now they have $5 deals. Lets get back to enjoying the things we used to enjoy and watch a movie with loved ones. Or go by yourself and take a break from reality! Thank you AMC Tamiami! read more

I recall this theater when it was Palace 18, I loved going there to watch movies because no one really went, so the place was empty a lot of times. Well, not good for business, but it was nice to be able to watch movies without people coming in late, blocking the views, and hearing kids or babies crying throughout the entire showings. Few days ago, a friend and I made plans to come to this theater to watch Ant-Man and the Wasp. I was really excited because I hadn't been to this location in years, I didn't even know the place was renovated. I also found out that the seats now recline as well! I had purchased my ticket using the Atom app and my friend said let's ask the front desk to see if we can change the seat so we can see better. We went to the customer service desk area and weren't greeted. There were about 4-5 employees behind the desk, it seemed like they were switching shifts. We waited and waited. They saw us but didn't say anything. Finally, probably 10 minutes later, one of the employees took over. She seemed uninterested and mundane. It seemed like she didn't want to be there, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she's having a bad day. My friend wanted to use his AMC Stubs membership with his ticket, but the girl said the MoviePass card can't be combined together. Rather than letting my friend decide what to do, she just swiped his card. No big deal, we went to the auditorium #9, sat down, and watched the movie. The seats were pretty comfortable. There was a kid that did talk out loud at the beginning of the movie but eventually something happened and there was silence. After the movie, my friend stopped by the customer service desk again. He wanted to talk to a manager and give some feedback about today's experience. The same girl called for a manager, and two came, Gina and Nick. My friend told them about what happened earlier when we weren't acknowledged right away, explained to them about what happened while he was purchasing his ticket with the girl and not given an option to use another payment that is not a MoviePass. He said the kiosks allow people to use their AMC Stubs with the MoviePass and just wanted to let them know. The managers explained that the theater is not making any money to combine both, so it's not allowed, and that this would be between my friend and MoviePass. My friend simply said that the kiosks allow the combination, but the manager, Nick, got very defensive and was extremely rude. He wouldn't hear us out and kept talking over my friend. He wasn't getting the point and kept talking about the same thing over and over again. We were just sharing about our experience and he was not listening. He glared at us and had his nose so high up that I thought he could hit the ceiling. I told them nicely that we also work in customer service industry and that we just wanted to give some feedback. I suggested that they make big signage and post them by the purchasing areas like the kiosks and the desk about the rules of not combining the AMC Stubs with MoviePass. Nick didn't care and kept looking away. It was obvious that he didn't want to be there and that he probably hates his job--or people, or both. Gina, on the other hand, was a bit more understanding and heard us out. She apologized about not greeting us to let us know they were changing shifts and said she would look into making the signs. People like Nick should find another career or job, because his attitude and actions were not a good representation for the AMC company. He was extremely rude, uncaring, uninterested, and not approachable at all. I hope he is able to see the light one day and change how he interacts with customers. I wish him luck. I saw reviews from others that talked about the same manager. If you want to talk to a manager, avoid talking to him or be prepared not to be heard even if you're civil about what you wanted to say. Went to see a quiet place day 1 at 5:10 on 7/6/24. The audio sucked and sounded like there was a lot of static and when it was quiet (which was obviously more than half the movie) it sounded like there was soo much popping. I first told the young lady that scanned our tickets while she was happily eating a hot dog and she let me know that she would tell the manager. My boyfriend later on told one of the employees at the counter for food and nothing still... when we left we told the employees at the front desk for the third time and we were told "thank you for letting us know." They ignored us three times and didn't give us a refund.. if you get put in theater 18 on the right side of the of the AMC, you will have horrible audio and they will do nothing to fix, accommodate or give you a refund.... First and last time ever going to Amc Tamiami, paid for two tickets online $31 to see the newest horror movie my boyfriend is 18 and I turn 17 tomorrow, the movie was rated r the age requirement is 17 years old. I showed Id and so did my boyfriend they wouldn't let us in because I wasn't of age. I had never previously had a problem with age restriction policies. However, i kindly took the offer of receiving a refund and even then they told me that i couldn't get my money back unless it was through a gift card. Never again!! read more

Years ago, way way ago, I visited this place vowed never to come back with pathetic old screens (with holes), run down seats, and audio with electrical buzz ungrounded speaker systems. That in a crappy below-average strip mall. Well today I must say this theater has outdone itself! ONLY the theatre. The strip mall is still MEH, no big deal. The night time lighting is spooky almost non existent dark scary stuff you think you'll get car jacked at pitch black ness. BUT the theatre is AMAZING. Amazing reclining seats (not fully reclinable as others such as landmark theatres) but cozy reclining leather seats with good screen size and sound (so far better than Landmark Theatres in Merrick park). I nabbed some pretty decent popcorn (no extra oil or butter added and wanted to sample how they prep things without adding more 'junk' to it). I reasonably enjoyed the popcorn and the electric reclining seats in my movie. An overall great time. The ONLY nagging thing was the airconditioning, at times I was a tad warm almost sweaty. I DONT LIKE! But being in S. Florida perhaps that is the norm for many of this area, not for my Northeast USA warm bloodedness for super cold winters. The movie was great, other patrons around me were reasonably well behaved (although I did hear a man constantly talk to a woman in low tones almost throughout the movie). It was bareable but almost about to ask them to stop the chatting! Hate rude people thinking it's their living room! This place is MUCH better in quality and staffing than Aventura Mall AMC (yes if you don't believe it I'll be rating Aventura soon at a much lower experience. Aventura of all places!). I use to to come to this theater back when it was a Palace 18 and it was very nasty and all torn up. I recently started hearing all of my buddies talk about the new and improved cinema. After a bit of time where I put it off, I finally decided to come and bring my girlfriend. I didn't and couldn't believe what a fantastic turnaround they made. From the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out, the renovation is just great. The best thing are the recliners in the auditorium. I don't see anybody sitting anymore, now they're all laying down chowing on some popcorn. For somebody who goes to the movies 2 to 3 times a week I've gotten to know very well most theaters In South Florida. It had been 10 years since I last came to the Tamiami AMC and it has given a 180 turn for the better since then. On my last visit here I remember the theaters was old, dark and sort of depressing, we watched a movie and the screen was blurred and did not have a crisp image. Well, the theater today is nothing like that last experience 10 years ago, the theater has been updated and now it is wonderful. First, they have assigned seating on some showings, you can select where you want to seat when you purchase the tickets. Second, the seats are the best I've been In, they are like first-class airplane seats, you can pull up the foot rest and basically watch the movie as if you were laying down on your bed. Third, there were no lines and few people which is always a plus for me. And last, free parking!!! I will definitely return for more! read more

At the beginning of the renewal, they kept their cheap prices but little by little everyone started coming back and now theaters are generally pretty packed and prices have gone up a bit. So this place has a great movie theater. I honestly think the seats are better bc they go all the way back. Feels like your in bed literally! However, when you go to order food and ask how much a simple fries will take they say 20 minutes I think that's ridiculous especially people usually need something quick on the go to eat. Then where there's the area to put butter and get napkins was gross super dirty. I really didnt like that. They need to be more well kept and find a way to have the food ready at a better timing. read more

Movie night! This is my go-to neighborhood movie theater when I want to watch a movie which is probably 3-4x a year. I'm the type that would rather watch it from the comfort of my own home (and bed)... but since this place has reserved seating AND seats that recline, I'll gladly make an exception for a real movie experience once in a while. Granted, it's in a big strip plaza that could use a facelift, but there's plenty of parking, the theater isn't too shabby, and they even have a "bar" with beers on tap. Cheers to that! read more
