This is the biggest AMC theater I've been to so far that has 30 movie auditoriums and it's located inside Orange Outlet with some good restaurants & shopping stores! Staffs are very friendly and theater is very clean & neat but they definitely need to UPGRADE their seats in the auditoriums and no recliner seatings even in the IMAX room!

4++ Large AMC located within The Outlets at Orange shopping mall. The concessions and folks working here seem pretty standard (a good thing!). The positives (for me): - 30 screens so you have a lot of showtimes and they probably have a few screenings of international and independent movies that are a little tougher to find. - thy have a large IMAX screen and theater with cushy seating. I came here specifically to watch Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning on an IMAX screen and thought it was such a treat since that movie was specifically shot for a theater/screen like this one. The negative: which isn't their fault really. Since it's in an Outlet Mall that's wildly popular, the logistics of getting here, parking, and walking over to the theater can be a little anxiety provoking. Some people might like going to crowded places, but sometimes I prefer being able to just drive up, find parking close by, and being able to get to the theater without weaving through large crowds and foot traffic. Overall, quality theater and great offerings due to its size.

It's been awhile since I was back watching movies at a theater - but I recently signed up for the AMC A-List membership subscription, and of the ones listed closest to me - AMC Orange 30 was convenient based on proximity to work and home. The plan gives you access to 4 movies each week - which is much more than I've seen, even in my busiest year of movies. I watched two movies on Saturday - HTTYD, and Lilo & Stitch - both movies where I've seen and are fond of the original versions. Live-action Lilo & Stitch remake wasn't as great - but HTTYD was awesome. I think it's party because of the visual and audio quality of the films. Both were seen in the "Laser at AMC" format - although they weren't clear whether 3D glasses were necessary or not. The visuals were spot on - sharp, vibrant, clear. Audio quality was amazing. When the score to HTTYD started playing - I was whisked away back down memory lane - realizing that I never did see the original films in the theater. Concessions were pricey as expected - but in AMC's defense, I think that's where most of their profits come from. The line was a bit long - even though I waited in the A-list line, I was practically ignored for like ten minutes before I walked away to find my seat. Oh another thing - you get reserved seating now - which is a huge plus from before, where you had to show up early to claim a good spot. The reservation system allows you to take your time to get to your seat - even forgoing the 30 minutes of commercials/trailers before your movie actually starts. The seats for both movies were comfortable - and had a high back - unlike other theaters I've been to. Temperature was a little warmer than I'd like though. Minus a star for the less-than-decent concessions experience - it was a slow/quiet day too - not sure why I was overlooked. Maybe they should rope off the line if their workers are going to ignore people waiting in it. Parking is easy - I parked in the back of the mall, closer to where the theater is. Will most likely be back sometime soon to check out the "Real 3D/3D-enabled" HTTYD.

AMX XL theater. Not really worth it, just regular seats.

We haven't been to this AMC since probably before the COVID pandemic, as nothing appears in my order history back through 2023. Walking in, the place looks EXACTLY like it did before. I wasn't expecting a major remodel, but I was hoping for something new besides the higher prices. I wanted to see Superman, and while we prefer the Dolby Theater, the times didn't match our schedule, so we opted for the AMC XL theater instead. The description implied a larger screen, but the screen we saw didn't seem any bigger. The seats were the regular seats in the basic theaters, and the sound was basic. Now, that's still not a bad experience, but just disappointing. What XL does claim is a 4K picture created by projecting lasers onto the screen. Although the image was quite crisp, it didn't enhance my enjoyment of the movie, and there really wasn't much difference from what you see in the Dolby Theater. In a nutshell, don't pay anything extra for XL if you don't have to. Otherwise, everything was just as I remembered. The bathrooms were clean, the employees we encountered were nice enough, and since we had eaten beforehand, which means we didn't purchase anything from the concession stand. So, really, no complaints, just disappointed in AMC XL.

Came here for the first time last week, which was a huge surprise to me, since I thought I had been to all the AMCs in SoCal! Parking was super easy in their giant lot, but it was a little confusing as to where the entrance was to the AMC. I walked through the mall and was able to find it. The AMC was bigger than I imagined but the theater numbers were all well marked. The theater itself was clean and well maintained and the smell of fresh popcorn lingered throughout. There are a large variety of formats here including IMAX and Dolby. The theater staff were also friendly and helpful. The seats could have been more plushy and comfortable and could offer more support, which is necessary for a longer film. I would definitely return to this theater, but probably only for the premium formats, as I imagine those seats are more comfortable. Regardless, the sound and picture quality was still very good.

Came here to watch a horror movie, seats so dirty and abandoned lowk made the experience scarier. 10/10! Wouldn't take kids here tho they'd probably get sick from all these germs. Hope parents read this before getting tickets!

How's the theater close, but selling tickets at 11:15pm?
    Jonathan B.

AMC 30 is a scam, purchase tickets to watch Black Phone at 11: 15 and they refuse to let me enter because the theater was close, if the theater was close why do they sell tickets for 11:15 pm showing. They turn away others, not sure if it was because they were Latinos. It's wrong that AMC takes your money by selling tickets and not letting you in.

Ask the Community - AMC Orange 30

    Does it serve alcohol?

Yes, AMC Orange 30 does serve alcohol to customers of age with ID, who have tickets to a movie.

Is the phone number just for looks? No matter what time a call is placed, right when you open, middle of the day or end of day, no one ever answers?

You may have to go to the website for answers. Strange no one answers.

Is your dolby theater 4:3 or standard wide screen? Want to see if Avatar 2 is worth it there.

It should be wide. Even the IMAX format at AMC here is wide. The closest theater that has 4:3 is the Regal Irvine Spectrum.

Have they updated to recliner seats in all theaters?

No, only certain theaters have them.

Do I need to show a vaccination card in order to go in your theater?

No. The Orange County theaters do not require vaccinations. They only require that the unvaccinated wear a mask unless eating or drinking

Does it offer movies with subtitales in spanish if not Does anyone know wjeres the closets one in Anaheim?

    Are there student discounts?

You can join the AMC stubs membership for free and on Tuesdays see movies for $5 all day. They also have students/teen discounts for popcorn & soda too.

Does this theater have recliner style seating?

Only the Dolby Cinema stadium has recliners. Everything else does not! Your best bet is either the Krikorian in Buena Park or Edwards in downtown Brea

    Does MoviePass work here?

    Yup!

Is there popcorn seasoning st this location? They're the ones that look like tiny creamer bottles with different flavors like cheddar, white cheddar, garlic, etc

The Block does not have a seasoning station. They do offer Tapatío chili and jalapeños.

So I had a plan, not a fully baked one, but also the goal that I had in mind did not need the coordination and specifics required for storming Peach's Winter Palace. So when I had my fill of a corn hole tournament I attended I decided to find a nearby theatre to enjoy the flick I wanted to see. The closest place was this one--- Regal Garden Grove. And I have to say that this place challenged my attendance instead of facilitating it. I did not buy my ticket before going to the place. However, I did see on the Flixster app that this movie was being played almost at 30 minute intervals throughout the day so whatever time I got there I would almost be guaranteed a ticket. So when I got there, it was close to 3:30 p.m. I entered, and discovered that they had a box office, of course, but no one was working it. The box office was a relic, apparently the advent of buying tickets online and other forms of technology made its purpose obsolete. So I entered and I was informed that I had two options: 1) I could either buy the tickets at the concession stand 2) or at the automated screen. I saw the line at concession stand and decided to buy the tickets with the soulless and fleshless teller. But before I did, I also noticed that this place had a 4DX option. And it is important to note that I learned of this option at the theatre, not while perusing the Flixster app. I was informed that the next 4DX Mario movie was playing at 330. I could make that one, that was my preferred choice. But getting a seat in this movie was going to be a challenge like ducking fire balls and avoiding bullet bills. I went to the automated screen and saw the option to buy a Mario movie ticket and I chose a 4:00 oclock showing, I did not see the 330 p.m. 4DX option. So I got the 4:00 option recliner seat option. Then after paying the screen went back to its original screen where all movie options was shown. This is where I saw that the landing screen had two options for the Mario movie. One option showed all the available Mario movies, except the 4DX. There was a specific button (a second touch button) to buy the 4DX Mario option. So, imagine going to a touch screen at McDonald's, and wanting to buy a combo. You go to the button to chose a combo but only see regular combos. After you pay for the regular combo you see the landing screen to learn that you have touch a second touch button to buy the x-large combos, because you cant do this in the first scree. I do not know if it is just me but this is unnecessarily difficult, like having to go through a small maze to buy a ticket. I spoke to a staff member because I wanted to change my recliner seat ticket to a 4DX ticket, which could be done. It was like 340 and I was informed that the movie had 30 minutes of previews. A manager was called, twice, and still no one came. I eventually decided just to see the movie in the recliner option theatre. I was just over the wait and the lack of active courtesy. I clipped a picture of a broken and tattered Mario Galaxy framed poster on the ground. It was kind of symbolic because the movie poster all unframed and on the floor directly spoke to my experience at this place. The movie was still great, the recliner was awesome, but I am left to wonder how would I have enjoyed the movie in the manner I wanted to see it? On a last note, a fellow movie goer also had problems purchasing her ticket in the automated teller. Her credit could not be accepted. Yes, she might not have funds or a faded chip but she could not figure out how to surpass the struggle. She ask a staff member for help the, young staff member responded, "I am not clocked in yer" and walked into a door. I would have liked for her to say, I am not able to help but maybe one of my other staff members can, let me refer one to you. Yes, she was not working, yes she is young and has professional development to acquire, but courtesy from staff members should be a baseline. At least, I think. I don't know I do not want t be a Koopa about this place but I feel like they had serious obstacles for patrons to enjoy a movie.

After going to Insomniac's Park 'n Rave, Drive-In OC pales far in comparison. I came for Gareth Emery and since I bought GA tickets (which are first come, first serve), I arrived 5-min before gates opened. The security will not let you in until 4:30pm on the dot so we had to wait in the strip mall across the street. By the time we were let in, we were probably the 20th car in line. Somehow after security was done checking our vehicle, we were luckily the 2nd car to actually go into the venue and park, so we had an amazing view in the first row of GA, which is basically the 4th row (first three rows are VIP). I love their food and restroom system, which is all done on their app/website via QR code. Major plus. And their restrooms aren't port-o-potties, so even better! There were also some food trucks that you could buy directly from. Food is average event prices and obviously will not be the best-tasting food. Just good enough to suffice you if you're hungry. You are allowed to bring in your own sealed water, although now looking at the new rules, they've now limited the size per individual, which I don't like. Speaking of limitations, at that time, each car was allowed however many people as there were seatbelts in the car. So if you had 8 seatbelts, you were allowed 8 people in your group. Looking at new rules, the maximum is now 5 people. I'm not sure if this is because of COVID or if they're just greedy, but I'm not a fan of this new limitation especially since 5 is such an odd number. Another thing I wasn't a fan of is the stage and sound set-up. The stage is tiny and looks like one of those stages they do at free events. There are two screens, just as small, so it must've sucked for those in the way back. The sound system is a regular PA system and although they had extra speakers set-up in the center of the parking lot, I heard from friends that the music could be barely heard in the back. They have a channel on the FM Radio so you can blast the music in your car, but my friends who went to Kaskade said it wasn't in-sync and lagged behind the actual music a bit. Even in the 4th row, which was really really close to the stage and sound, I could easily have conversations with my boyfriend and not constantly scream, "What???" at him. This may be a good thing for some, but personally, I think it lowers the concert experience. I want to feel the music and bass bumping through my body lol Now the thing that upset me the most: social-distancing and spacing of the vehicles. The staggering system is great, and the 160 sqft of dancing space next to your car is nice too, in theory. They did not have any railings dividing these sections forcing everyone to keep to themselves. When you have concert goers inebriated, they are not going to stick to their own areas; that's just a fact. And the lazier ones trying to sneak to the front to get pics are going to cut through rows and walk into your private space instead of walking around the rows of parked cars. Since we were in the front, people were constantly walking through our private dancing space and it was rude, uncomfortable, and annoying. I think recently, they decided to add pink ribbon to divide the spaces. Pink RIBBON. RIBBON. Lol. What the hell is ribbon going to do? People can easily walk under it or just pull it down? There's no sense of safety or security at all (not to mention incredibly unprofessional, ugly, and cheap-looking). I'll be attending Gareth Emery's Laserface next weekend and I'm only going because I'm a huge fan and I want to support him during rough times. Not looking forward to the shitty sound and lack of social-distancing security.

This movie theater hasn't changed much in 15 years. Much better flow on the redone parking lot now…read more Front cashier's box office looks permanently closed. The movie titles and times are posted on the marquee, not digital. When you walk in, behind the box office there is one kiosk to purchase your tickets, if you didn't online. Once you have your digital tickets, you'll have you go through the concession stand (it will be posted, if no one is there to check you in) and they'll give you printed seat tickets. It's kind of convenient because you can buy your snacks and beverages at the same time. There are 10 screens. If you don't arrive exactly on time and it's not a crowded theater, expect that some people will take your selected seats. Luckily, most of the seats have a great view of the screen. Concession guys were nice but a little slow as the line was building. The screen rooms were quaint and the row/seats' letters and numbers were a little difficult to see; might have to post a large letter sign at the end of each row for visibility. The bathrooms were clean and located in the middle of the movie theater.
