I love AMC bc they have comfortable seats that recline and most are clean. They have popcorn that's fluffy and good and you add the butter. This one is huge and they serve food and alcohol also. Huge parking lot. I know everyone is addicted to smart phones and apps for entertainment but it's still great to see movies in the theater.

A perfect place to beat the heat, on a comfy recliner, in the dark. It's Ghiblifest 2024 and I've never seen Princess Mononoke before. I was pretty invested until one of the characters was voiced by Billy Bob Thornton. No line at concessions, self-serve drinks and butter, clean bathrooms, pre-ordered tickets. It's all pretty convenient, plenty of parking. The theatre was about half full. I ended up taking a nap -- oops!

We chose to watch a movie here mostly due to the discounted price (25%) for a weekend matinee. We ordered our tickets at the front counter from an actual person (gasp - no kiosks) and she completed the transaction really quickly. The theater itself could use an update (style looks very 90s). But no complaints with the seats, they reclined properly, were comfortable and clean. I also liked that there was enough space away from the person next to you. Also the stadium seating also provides no worries about what seat you choose. The theater had the a/c pretty high, so bring a hoodie if you get cold easily. Parking is easy and there is no lines in front of concession stands. So all in all would recommend if you're truly just going there for the movie - not if you're trying to go for an all out luxury experience.

    Trash near the counter.

It looks quite modern inside, and has more extras for guests including a bar, games etc. The biggest standout and the reason for that wording s the self serve popcorn. (Like, What??) It was an interesting experience to fill my own bucket but it was cool. The popcorn was nothing super special but it was good quality. The staff are friendly enough and I don't really have much negative to say. However, I will say that the process of getting in and having our tickets checked was a bit hectic as they have you go in the side door and wait in a single queue. We tried a pizza from their menu and it was pretty good. Would recommend. Slightly confusing for new comers but not really much to be concerned about. A nice addition to wheeling area and one I hope sticks around for awhile. [Date of Visit: 2/14/26]

Yes, there is VIP experience and parking available, but the typical experience is anything but easy. On my last visit, we stayed in a nearby hotel and took a shared ride in. The challenge? Getting out. Expect a half a mile walk to the Braeside station to get a shared ride back after the concert, unless you are up for leaving before the last 30 minutes of a show. There's plenty of staff here walking around and keeping things safe but some of the staff seem cranky and short when asking them questions. Some people are first-time attendees so maybe a little more patience is needed. To me, it's just common courtesy. One man at the North Gate was very rude. I do appreciate that the sound quality is great around the venue and the big screen on the lawn is nice.

As far as getting there, I'd recommend the Metra which is included with your ticket purchases. You can get off at Ravinia Park or Braeside. There is a parking lot, but you do have to get there early to get a spot. If the main lot is full, they have shuttle service from other local locations. Grab a crew, plan a picnic and enjoy live music under the stars!

Small-town, old-school theaters like this are vanishingly rare, and this one adds a lot of value to the community. My wife and I have caught a few films here more recently, and a standup comedy show many years ago. It seems like their main shows are limited-release indie or foreign films (bless them for that). However, they also advertise a Flashback Friday feature (5pm every week) for a major discount: last month it was The Goonies for $5 and School of Rock for $2. Wow! Besides films, they continue to offer music concerts and stand-up comedy. They are also hosting a Shark Tank style event for the local high school's young entrepreneurs group; very cool. Other reviewers mentioned that this joint is run down?? I didn't see it. The theater is very comfortable and the entire facility is spotlessly clean. I'm not sure of the ticket prices, but I paid $27 for two Saturday matinees and a 16-ounce adult beverage. Yes, they have a popcorn machine and candy, plus local craft beer.

It replaced Arclight which was in a decline. The cinema had been renovated 2 years ago. It was a Thursday afternoon, and the cinema was pretty quiet. There were big kiosks for ticket purchases, and the process was quick and easy. We got a small bag (which was not too small) for $10 plus tax, a little pricy for popcorn, but it was good. The popcorn guy was friendly, and he also doubled as the guy to collect our ticket stubs, and informed us which cinema room to go to. We were there for the preview of the movie, and we got the entire cinema #5 to the 3 of us! While the lobby and hallways of the cinema was nice and cool, this room was a little too warm. We totally understood that they would not cool down an entire room when there was no audience inside. I went to talk to the popcorn guy about the air temperature issue, and he promised to have it adjusted. As I went back to the cinema room. We could feel that cool air started to come out, and it was comfortable for the rest of the showing. The chairs were big, clean, and comfortable. Sound and picture were great. The movie itself was enjoyable just like the first time, and the English dubbing was perfect. The entire cinema was very clean. I was especially pleased with their restrooms being spotless clean. There is a bar in the lobby, and across from it was the biggest poster I've ever seen in a cinema lobby, it was a colorful digital poster of Ne Zha 2, very appropriate for such a spectacular movie. When we left the cinema after seeing the movie, there was another guy at the hallway collecting ticket stubs, and there was obviously more audience coming in. We enjoyed this cinema experience very much, and would definitely return to see other movies in the future.

However, when I told the one person I saw working there later on, she was very nice and said she'd tell someone to take care of it (and that person did!). It isn't bad enough to deduct two stars, even with other minor issues, but the sound itself was kind of bad at times...this is one of the main things a theater should be aware of!
