This week we had a very strange experience. We were looking for a movie theater nearby that showed the movie Glass at a specific time and this AMC had the timing just right for us. We drove about 20 min over to this shopping center and finally found the place. It took a while to find the entrance because strangely it's not really well labeled. You can walk through several furniture shops or the Marshalls to get into the mall and deep within this mall you'll see the AMC tucked in the back. Once you're inside, it's clear where it is. AMC's have a cool feature now that if you are standing behind a long line of people who don't know how to decide on a movie time, you can go over to the self service computer and print your tickets. Well that is what we did and walked in. They stopped us at the ticketing area and said, "Oh wow you were able to buy these tickets?" Strange question to ask but only to find out that they just decided to not show that movie. Never had that happen before! Then a few people started to call around and then finally we were told that, yes, indeed they were going to show the movie but it may be in another theater. We should hang around until they clarify. We stood around for about 30 min when we finally went back to them to figure out whether they were still showing the movie and they said yes the theater was now open. Thanks for telling us! I did give them one more star than I would have because of their self service drink area which was pretty cool. The theaters unfortunately were poorly maintained. Their wash trash in the aisles and sticky candy over a few of the seats. The movie itself was fine but the service and the upkeep of the space was poor. I have found very few 1 or 2 star businesses. Most businesses that continue to exist get usually at least 3 stars but there are rare circumstances where a business manages to stay afloat despite delivering a poor product. I would say that the only thing worse than this theater was the mall itself that it was sitting in... I'll get to that review next. I will definitely not be coming back to this theater even if it were to provide a convenient timing for a showing. Poor upkeep and poor service here. I would stay away.

Trash everywhere seats look sweaty and discolored. You know it smelled crazy in here.

This is an upscale experience with reclining seats that includes 2 seats per pod. Super cozy for a date night. Complimentary blankets are included at every seat for your enjoyment, at no additional cost. Now let's get to the fun part! IPIC is not your typical movie theater as they have a full bar with cleverly crafted cocktails, my favorite had to be the Lavender Lemonade. It's cool and refreshing and so esthetically beautiful that you question if you should drink it or admire it. But wait there is more, on top of having a full service bar they also have a full menu! Yes you still have the typical popcorn and candy option but they also include such dishes as spicy tuna on crispy rice, charcuterie and cheese platter, lobster rolls just to name a few. Everything is savory and delicious! They do validate parking, allowing guests to park in the garage for a discounted rate. Validation usually brings the cost to approximately $3-$3.50 for 4.5 hours. The cost of tickets range from $14 - $28 per ticket. I have come many times and plan on coming back many times more. IPIC has officially become my favorite theater!

When we politely notified the food runner, he immediately caught an attitude and never came back to check on us or resolve the issue. The ambiance is only decent if you're comfortable sitting in chairs that squeak and make noise every single time you move throughout the movie. It became distracting pretty quickly. To make matters worse, they automatically add an 18% gratuity without clearly notifying you, and apparently it doesn't matter how terrible the service is because they will not remove the charge. Paying premium prices for bad food, poor service, and an uncomfortable theater experience is not something I'd recommend.

RE: Paris Hilton special early screening of Infinite Icon: A Visual Memoir…read more I honestly didn't expect to enjoy this documentary as much as I did, but it was really good and surprisingly eye-opening. It shows a side of Paris Hilton that goes far beyond the media image most of us grew up seeing. One thing that truly shocked me was being reminded that she made music. I actually recognized one or two of the songs, but it never clicked back then that she was the artist behind them. Seeing her creative journey explained in context made it all make sense and gave me a new appreciation for her as more than just a pop-culture icon. The documentary does a great job of peeling back the layers -- the pressure, the misconceptions, and the control she's had to fight for over her own voice and narrative. It felt honest, vulnerable, and human in a way I wasn't expecting. Overall, it's a well-done, engaging watch that definitely changed my perspective. Whether you think you know Paris Hilton or not, this documentary will likely surprise you. Only 1 thing I wanted to see was her really like FOR REAL DANCING.

We arrived and parked in the garage below the mall. This was relatively convenient. We were close to an escalator that got us into the ground floor. From there, we oriented ourselves and determined how to get to the theater. Pro tip = use the elevators. The theater is more automated than at my last visit. Tickets are all via kiosk at the entrance. It appeared that much of the concession was also of the do-it-yourself / automated variety, but we did not get any food. The theater itself was nice - with reclining seats that were comfortable. Prices were average. We mostly chose this for timing and convenience, due to the film being in limited release. I don't know that I would pass up closer venues just to watch a movie here, but the experience was fine. I would go back.

In other words, you don't know what you're seeing until it starts playing! I found this to be really exciting. The staff behind the concession stand were all kind and friendly, and the entire theater felt clean and comfy. I worried about our seats because we were only 3 rows from the front, and I get migraines if I'm too close, typically opting for the very back row... but since the chairs reclined, I was actually okay! My chicken tenders were hot and crispy and really hit the spot, along with the fries. I loved the mango habanero dipping sauce I chose as well. Our movie ended up being "Hunting Matthew Nichols," a documentary-style mystery-horror, modern day homage to The Blair Witch Project. It's a slow burn, but an enjoyable one. We had a great time and look forward to attending more of these!

We went to see Now You See Me, Now You Don't, and the movie was surprisingly good! The food was excellent, fresh, and full of flavor. The customer service was outstanding--every staff member we encountered was friendly, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of. The theater itself is clean, comfortable, and located in a nice, safe area. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last. I will absolutely be back for another dine-in movie experience at The Marcus Movie Tavern

The theatre is intimate with a nostalgic vibe. There's about 6 theatres with old school seats. The concession stand sells standard snacks to satisfy your appetite during the movie. Ample parking is available in the parking lot. I'm uncertain of the prices because entry was free for the movie screening I attended. The staff were professional and polite. I like the old timey feel of the place. According to its Wikipedia entry, Tara opened in 1968 and the name is a nod to Gone with the Wind of course. It feels cozier since there are a mere four screens total. The small size also makes it a cinch to locate the bathrooms and your theater. Tara is owned by Regal so it's not truly independent but feels more indie since it's an artsy film house. There's a concession stand that serves ever-popular popcorn as well as beer. The seats were comfy enough, though towards the end, I was getting antsy but that might have to do more with the quality of the film. I was concerned about being able to see since this theater doesn't have stadium seating, but the slope of the floor was enough so that I could comfortably see over the two women in front of me. I didn't have any issues with the screen or sound. The other patrons were pretty well-behaved though cell phones loudly interrupted a couple of times, sigh. Since Tara is in a shopping center, parking isn't really much of an issue. There's a Publix and a couple of restaurants nearby too, like Hajime which my dental hygienist recently recommended to me. Next time I'm at Tara, I'll have to schedule my movie right so I can have ramen after!
