AMC theater in Hialeah. We came here to watch a highly anticipated movie late on a Saturday evening for a 10pm showing. There was a good amount of parking in the lot that the theater was in but I did feel a little sketchy because of the area and how late it was. Walking inside and getting things from the concession was super easy and fast. Before heading into the theater, we all decided to use the restroom since the movie was close to three hours. The women's bathroom was so dirty and disgusting, I would have opted to not use it but I really had to go. This might have been the dirtiest bathroom I've been in in a long time and I don't really mind dirty public bathrooms. After getting out of the restroom as fast as possible, we headed to theater 8 for our movie. After walking in, we were met with a heatwave as soon as we walked into the theater. It was super hot and a stark difference from the regular, A/C regulated temp that was in the rest of the movie theater. We found our seats and the seats were all torn up. I understand that movie theaters are worn over time and this is a bit normal, unfortunately, but they were super torn and a lot of our seats didn't even seem level and a bit broken. I wish they'd block out these seats or even offer them at a discount. After being in the theater for a few minutes, one of us opted to go ask if they could turn on the A/C in there. They were given a bit of a run around and after asking a few staff members, guest services said they'd turn it down but it might take a while. We all were looking forward to this movie so we endured the heat and seats but the heat only slightly got better, to the point where I had to fan myself the entire movie. The experience of the movie in the theater as a whole was so bad that it truly impacted our whole experience of the movie. I would not recommend this theater (or at least theater 8) at all. I hope they do some much needed renovations to this theater or even at least upkeep the bathrooms and theaters to the best of their ability. read more

Call me crazy, but I really like this movie theater. Mind you, it is by no means comparable to the newer, more modern movie theaters in Miami. But that's why I like it. Yes, the theater is outdated, the floors are sticky, bathrooms are kinda grimy and the floors had puddles of water next to the toilets, you buy your snacks & tickets at the concessions stand, and the seats reclined in a weird, stiff way. But the prices are a little cheaper than other area AMC theaters. Most importantly, the nostalgiac value of this place is through the roof. When I walked in, I was instantly transported back to my pre-teen moving going days. This place is 90s AF! Plus staff was friendly, the screen & audio were loud and clear, and there was no crowd. read more

UPDATE. I went to see Star Wars a week ago and the theatre hasn't changed or improved much at all. It's still nasty and old. The only good about this place is the food and the staff. The staff was extremely friendly, courteous and professional. The food was great so no issues. But the decor and maintenance of this old theatre needs some serious upgrades and renovations. This places was ass in my opinion October 27, 2023 Well the place was kinda nice in the inside but in the outside it's looks like they are gonna rob me so I was sure to be careful. So the reason I came to this AMC for a reason is because it was the only one that had available seats for the new FNAF movie. In the website from AMC it said that thru 26/29 they were gonna give out FNAF pizza, guess they didn't have the fnaf box. When you get inside of one of the auditoriums it is sooo small. Like barely 50 people can fit in there. But ignoring that the movie was good in my opinion. The projector didn't have any problems so I had a good time with friends watching that movie. But in general I didn't really like the place and was really creepy at night so I wouldn't recommend but if your desperate and want to watch a movie already then go ahead. read more

Super quiet theater! Came here on a Sunday for a date and we were the only couple in the room! I loved it! Area is a bit questionable so make sure you lock your doors. There were a lot of liquor bottles in the parking lot! Concession stand had no wait! Popcorn wasn't that fresh and was a bit chewy. Will definitely come here again to avoid a crowd! read more

So.... I have been coming here since I can remember. My first job too. I do know they underwent a remodel a few years back but somehow it looks a little run down again the last time I went. AMC Hialeah 12 - Movie theater 8 not cleaned when I came to start a new movie - Cinema Near Me - Hialeah, Florida

I rarely review things on Yelp. I've certainly never reviewed a movie theater. Terrible experience here. The staff was certainly very nice, but I suspect that the lack of customers on a weekday has made them kind of lazy and complacent. I showed up 15 minutes early for a 2:30pm showing. There was pre-show audio playing in the theater, but the screen was black. Whatever, no big deal, I don't really care about the pre-show stuff anyway. 2:30pm comes around and the pre-show audio is replaced by generic music and the screen is still black. At 2:40pm I found a staff member in the lobby and let him know. Super nice guy who immediately went to fix the issue. At 2:45pm the generic music went away and the movie began without any trailers, but there was no audio. At this point it was 20 minutes past showtime and I had little faith that this theater had its act together enough to actually make this movie happen. So I walked out. You're a movie theater. It's literally your only reason for existing. If you can't play a movie then you shouldn't be in business. This was my movie theater growing up. It's always had a bad reputation. I hadn't visited in years and was willing to give them a chance. That was a mistake. Also, the auditorium is terrible. The seats are not at a steep enough angle. There was nobody sitting in front of me and yet I couldn't see the bottom of the screen because the seat in front of me was blocking the view. read more

Just sitting through 20+ minutes of previews and commercials makes this a Nope! I picked this theater to see that movie where the Miami Police invade a foreign country south of the border (not going to discuss jurisdiction issues here;) because it was on the way home from the cowfield. Next time I guess I'll just deal with the crowds in Main Street Miami Lakes. At least the theater itself was fairly clean, and the video and audio relatively decent. But for various other ancillary issues, this theater should not be your first choice. If you do come here, get your tickets online! You see, they don't have a separate ticket box; if you try to buy tickets at this location, you will have to compete in line with the 1,234,567 people in line to buy stale overpriced "snacks". That's right, they sell tickets at the concession stand. In trying to use the bathrooms, one of the automatic faucets was not working. Neither was the paper towel dispenser; it kept getting stuck. With all of these glitches, here's hoping this is just a case of demolition by neglect until this location is remodeled. read more

I usually trust AMC, but this theater smells like they house the homeless honestly. The first theater I went into for my movie (9) was so hot, I was sweating the second I walked in. They did send me to another theater where the movie started only 20 minutes later. The seats go so far back, it's just awkward. It needs to be renovated really bad. Smells like a$$ in here. If I hadn't spent a small fortune for popcorn and a drink, I would have just left to find another movie theater. But, I'll suffer through the stale smell, but I will not return. PLAN ACCORDINGLY THE LINE IS USUALLY LONG This place is huge you can go early and have the kids play games and hang out before the movie start. They have beer and wings to keep the adults happy as well during a long movie. The seats are a bit uncomfortable you get to recline however if there is someone behind you I can hit their knee, and be careful leaning forward it feels like the chair will flip and it's a little pricey but then now a days going to the movie cost. I visited the AMC Theatre in Hialeah yesterday with my family. I always had nice memories of that location on 49 street given that I grew up in Hialeah and am proud to still work there. It was very sad to see how run down the theater was. The bathroom was dirty and the movie theater seats were extremely uncomfortable. When I first walked into the bathroom it smelled like urine and the floor had stains that looked like dried up urine. All the stalls had dirty toilets. It was very disgusting. The movie we watched was good and the theater was okay except I kept standing up to watch from the entrance of the theater because the seats were extremely uncomfortable. The seats were uncomfortable for everyone I went with. My daughter who is 12 was upright the whole time because she's too short to put her feet on the ground and recline. My husband who is a big man was able to recline but the seat jerked him forward so in order to stay reclined he had to maintain his feet firm on the ground and I just couldn't figure any comfortable position out. Also, when I went to the concession stand the employee was using her money & cashier handling hands to eat popcorn right from the machine. She'd lick her hand and get another handful out of the popcorn machine. The theater manager was helping out a customer who wanted a refund while she was munching away with her bare hands all over the popcorn. The manager did not even notice. I feel that manager is overwhelmed doing his job or doesn't know how to hire and train correctly. The popcorn thing was gross. read more

The only reason for leaving one star is because there is no option for a negative review. This theatre is by far the worst theatre I have ever been to. The place smelled of rancid piss and fecal mater throughout the entire theatre. The seats felt as if they had been sprayed with maple syrup from how sticky and old they were. Roaches were found crawling the walls of the theatre. My experience was so miserable me and my family did not make it to the previews. We abandoned our food at the theatre and left. RUN AWAY FAST DON'T GO TO THIS S**T HOLE I have been to this theater many times as a kid. Many memory there. But have not been in 15 yrs. I live Closer to other theaters. Since the New AMC opened in Pines I became a A-Lister. I was planing a day out with my family for Father's day. But the Movie Theater in Doral (Cinebistro) didn't allow under 21 after 6pm. So since we live in Pines & we had to drive North I looked for a AMC that had Secret life of Pets 2 playing at a time that we can make. Hialeah 12 was an hour & it will give us time to get there, get food & find our seats. Upon walking up to what use to be the Box Office there was no one there & it looked like no one has been there for yrs. So We walked inside. I looked around for a Ticket counter like all other theaters have. I didn't find one. As I walked up to the concession & asked the lady where do I buy tickets. With out looking at me stated "Right Here" I walked up to her & looked around for the movie list. All I see is the menu for food, so I asked for the movie list. She just pointed at the list of food. It took my Daughter to see it was up at the far right corner. Once we decided on the movie I went to tell the lady & she had already walked away. (The theater was empty & we was the only ones at the concession.) However the employee should have stay at the counter till we were ready to place our order, after all is that not her job. Another employee came over and took our order but seemed to be in a hurry. So since we were not in a rush we informed him that we were ordering many things. ($60 later) Our Popcorn was old, cold & stale, The Pizza didn't taste like it does at other AMC Theaters, and the Pretzel bites were hard & under cooked. We noticed the Popcorn stale right away so we asked for fresh Popcorn. The Male employee stated with attitude "you will have to wait" as if 1 we will have a problem waiting or 2 he didn't want to have to make more. My Husband informed him that we were not in a hurry & had no issue waiting for fresh popcorn. Once we got all the food & drinks we went to add butter to the popcorn. That the condiment counter it was dirty with napkins & crumbs all over & one of the two butter dispensers didn't work. As we walked up to the two ladies taking tickets to enter the theater both were on their phones & bent over leaning on the stand in front of them. The girl put her phone down in a way that made me feel like I was bothering her to take my tickets. (is that not her job). She tells us that the theater is to the left all the way down on the right #1. Once we walked in the movies was at least 30 to 40 mins into it. We found that wired so once I was able to sit down an see the tickets it was not theater #1 it was #7. We moved to the right theater. At this time my husband went to talk to the manager & informed him that the employee taking tickets were too busy to tell us the right theater to go in since she was on her phone. Once we found our seat I noticed the seats were stains and gross After the movie my daughters & I went to the ladies room. The ladies room was so disgusting that I could not us it. Every stalls was full of paper on the floor & more then half the toilets had either paper still in the toilet or paper stuck to the toilet seat. The sink area was also full of paper towel on the counter & the paper towel dispenser was open with little paper inside. The sinks also were clogged with the paper towels. It is evidence that the bathroom has not been cleaned all day. Makes me think that no one that works there has walked in to use it let alone clean it. The ladies room is right next to the two taking tickets so that is a disappointment since I am sure other ladies had to have walked out making a statement that it is dirty. My 6 year old stated as we walked by the to ticket girls "that bathroom is disgusting" and one of the ticket girls stated under her breath but loud enough to hear "I Know". I was so upset that I talked to the manager & showed him the photos I took & also informed him that the two girls taking tickets have been to busy playing with their phones to bother to send us to the right theater or event check on the restroom. I even stated I am sure that other ladies had to have make statements about the restroom being a mess & they have not tried to clean it. Now I can see why on father's day this it was empty. in our theater there was a total of 4 families including my family. There are so many people needing jobs that will work harder then these two girls. We later find out that this Theater has no General Manager that they are in a transitional phase. Well you can tell. With out a good leader you will not have good employees. As sad as it will be to see a piece of my childhood gone this movie theater needs to close for good. January 1, 2017 - a time to bring in the New Year and bring in the New Year I did. How did I do it? Simple! I went to this theater to go and see something absolutely magical: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Yes, I am well aware that the movie had been out since November, but being the procrastinator that I am, I waited until it is practically out of the movie theater to go and see it with a friend. Well, we were fortunate enough that the movie was not only still playing but that it had the flexibility of having two showings. That being said, we chose the nighttime showing. When we arrived, the theater itself was relatively empty, and given the day, it is completely understandable. We bought our tickets inside, as well as a couple of bottles of water and a small popcorn. To say we demolished our food was the understatement of the century. Heading into the actual theater, we were greeted politely, given directions, and off we went to the room labeled as #4. Relatively small with comfortable chairs, we sat and waited for the previews to begin. Oddly enough, for awhile, the entire screen was pitch black and you only heard the audio playing in the background. Eventually, however, that changed and the actual previews started. This time, though, you actually saw the screen show colors. All that aside, this theater got the job done, but it definitely wouldn't be my first pick to go see a movie unless we factor in convenience. And that's a wrap! read more

I haven't been to a movie in years. I am ashamed to say what the previous movie was, but when we went out for a movie night out - we went all the way. Conan the BARBARIAN in 3-D. That's what. Hialeah has this really cool theater with tons of screens including 3-D screens, a video game room and a snack bar that sells beer and wine. You don't even have to sneak it in, lol. When we bought the tickets, we had to pick our seats. It was the weirdest thing ever - because they were practically all taken. Walk into the theater - no one. Perfect, we had our own row, own theater practically. The movie was really cool, a little gory in 3-D action - but that's what makes me so animated. The exciting parts. The seats were comfy and arm rests were adjustable. Great theater. I would watch a lot more movies if there were more theaters like this in San Francisco. read more

I haven't been here since the early 2000's. I decided that I wanted to watch Purge, since it was the 4th of July weekend. I noticed that the website, muvico.com was directing me to some bogus website and I decided to give them a call. I gave them a call since I wanted to watch the movie early, I called and was very shocked at their matinee pricing, which was $5.75 plus tax which came out to $6.15 a ticket, this what I paid 20 years ago when I was in highschool. I was so excited with the pricing, I didn't hesistate and told my kids we found a new movie spot. I left like an hour early, and thankfully I'm glad that I made that decision. The movie theater is directly across from the Rooms to Go Outlet and I believe they share the same parking lot, luckily we found a parking spot immediately upon arrival. I was a little confused when I got here, because the front booths where the tickets were sold, had several notes stating: Tickets are to be purchased at the concession stand, I think that tactic that they are using is very resourceful, you're going to end up buying popcorn and soda anyways and other treats. Word to wise, DO NOT ARRIVE LATE!!!!! The line can be a liitle long, but my wait time was less than ten minutes. I purchased my tickets and the ticket agent directed to the left, now when we arrived they were still cleaning inside the theater and was told there would be a five minute wait, as I was exiting the theater there was a nice big sofa on the side, which was very comfortable. I noticed flat television screens which featured the movie and the time of showing. Let's talk about the movie theaters, they are not that big, but I like the fact that the chairs recline and very comfy in my opinion. During intermission I saw an advertisement that on Tuesdays, the movies are only $5 all day and popcorn, drinks, and candies are at a lower price, they have a promotion that you buy a 2016 popcorn bucket and refills are $4. I saw that they have an arcade and beer is sold also. I guess I found a new home as far as theaters, gotta save money. I know during the weekends, when majority of the average and normal people are off it can get a little congested, but since I'm off during the week, I'm going to give this place a chance. The theaters and restrooms were very clean. The hospitatlity and customer service was on point. They've gained a new customer. They offer 3D for an upgraded price and this new thing called D-BOX??? What is that exactly, its technology uses motion effects specifically programmed for each visual content. The resulting motion is perfectly synchronized with the on-screen action, thus creating an unparalleled realistic immersive experience. Will I pay extra for that option which runs something in between $18-20 a ticket? Maybe RECOMMENDATION: Come either on $5 Tuesdays or or try to come before 6p.m. to catch the matinee price of $5.75. read more

visiting from out of town and wanted to see a movie with my family. this was the closest theater to where we were staying and upon arrival, i immediately noticed how old the theater was and how dirty the carpet appeared. once inside theater 7 to see the movie, i noticed it was completely filthy like as if no one cleaned after the last movie. i quickly let the staff know and they were very sweet, quick to apologize, and cleaned up within a few minutes. another thing i noticed was majority of the seats were broken! i couldn't sit in my assigned seat because those didn't look safe to sit in. however, once the movie started, i forgot about all the negatives and overall enjoyed myself. just wanted to write a review so that the company can be aware. read more

Just got back from this theater and it was NASTY. There was a subtle odor the minute I stepped into the theater that was playing the movie but I thought nothing of it. When I got to my seat I noticed everything was filthy. Cleaning clearly doesn't happen here before or they just "clean" the visible parts of the room (front of the chairs). I saw candy, old popcorn and even a diaper thrown behind my seat! A lot of the seats were also torn like someone just ran a knife down several of them. Can't say I'm surprised being that it's Hialeah. Never going to this theater again. read more

Place is absolutely disgusting! Stay away! Let's start with getting your ticket where the counters are filled with an array of old popcorn, receipts, dirty napkins and everything was sticky and no one doing anything about it. When ordering a beer none of them knew what a Mic Ultra was or where they kept it which makes me think none were even 18 to serve it. They had no plastic cups in stock at the time despite 5 people sitting around at 11 at night so I couldn't even take the beer they opened for me, just wait for it to be delivered warm 10 minutes later. The restrooms look like straight out of a third world country with poop, piss and throw up everywhere. Everything was wet in the men's restroom for the wrong reason. Not just an incident in one stall but everywhere!.. onto the movie Next we go to see Deadpool in theatre 11 and have the seat recliners are so broken you are almost laying in the person behind you's lap. Then the screen goes blurry from condensation or something for 20 minutes before it's fixed. Theatre feels like the AC went out. Movie stops early they fix the focus, goes blurry again for another 10 minutes with no one doing anything and then finally fixed just near the end. I'm expecting a full refund and a movie pass at this point but I exit the whole theatre looks like a ghostown, no employees or management in site. Honestly even with the free voucher I doubt I'd go back to this dump.. stay away read more

The most terrible movie theater ever. I just finished watching Dumbo in section 5. People there are the most disrespectful ever. The very minute the movie was going to start, it shut right off.. leaving the whole theater dark with a lot of kids inside. The people sitting behind us spoke throughout the entire movie about money and house issues.. like noone cares .. we paid money for tickets to watch a movie.. not to hear conversations about your life problems. Ok guys, I am going to tell you about this little secret, yes is Hialeah, but is now this Muvico has one of the best theaters in SoFla, this place use to stink (literally), but as recent as December 10 they remodeled completely, the place is still same size but they added several cool features: -Real D 3D ; ok not all 3D is the same, some are better than others, this one is one of the best, its digital and looks amazing -Sony 4K; they added an spectacular digital sound by Sony, is not about how loud could it be is about the details -D-Box; they added this cool seats that move in sync with the movie, just like a Disney ride. So imagine an awesome action movie in 3D with seats that move and amazing digital sound. The place is packed during weekends so I recommend to enjoy it during the week. They also added a large Arcade facility that even has bowling lanes. They added a couple of items to the food area that makes it better, the only thing this location is lacking is alcohol...or at least beer, like some other cool locations. read more

This theater used to be an old-looking Muvico that somewhat had an abandoned look to it. It is not an AMC location and I decided to check it out since I've been fascinated with the new renovations done to AMC cinema locations. A fair warning - This location does not have the red comfy recliner seats that other locations provide. I was totally expecting this when coming in to watch Logan and was disappointed. Good news is there is alcoholic beverages served here, but they're served through the same location where you buy tickets, food, and snacks. So you can expect the line to build up very fast! As for the movie theater experience... the sound and the picture quality was perfect! Not my recommended AMC location to go to, but if you're stuck in the Hialeah area would definitely give it a try! read more

This theater has taken many identities over the span of three decades. I know this because I've lived within a 1 mile radius of this theater all my life. In fact, this theater was where I got my first theater experience, which was in 1988 when I saw 'The Land Before Time'. Decades later, this theater has been bought by new theater chains over three times. The demand for better surround sound, screen expansions, IMAX, Dolby Theaters, reserved seating and reclining chairs is nowadays a requirement; this AMC however is decades behind. They had DBox and reserved seating 2 years ago and now when I tried to do reserve seating the girl at the box office told me it's been broken for a while now. This clearly shows negligence on the staff & management to ensure this gets fixed in order to give it's local patrons a true AMC experience similar to the Aventura location. I came at 7pm to see Shazam! which was $10, popcorn and soda was $16. They only had one kiosk ticket machine which isn't helpful on weekends when the lines are massive. When I sat in my seat to see the film I noticed that most of the seats are broken. The screen and sound wasn't all that great either. A true film critic or purist can notice immediately that the sound hasn't been upgraded in years. Also, their were several leaks in the roof displaying exposed ceiling vents. Corporate needs to get involved and have management step up or step aside to allow a better film going experience. read more

I came here to see "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" because I was in the Miami Springs neighborhood with time to kill before my friend's musical performance. This Muvico theater is a very small, rather unconventional movie theater in that there are no self-checkout kiosks for ticket purchase in sight, not even in the lobby. There is also no ticket counter to purchase movies. My friend and I walked in bewildered, looking around, until someone at the concession stand asked us if we wanted to buy movie tickets. Never before have I purchased tickets at a concession stand, so that was odd. I guess we got lucky because there were no lines at the concession stand on that day, but I can see how aggravating it would be if you're tight on time and have to stand in a large line of people still deciding what concessions they'll purchase while you just wait, patiently. We were also offered the option to pay extra and have seats that moved. I think they call those the D-Box seats. I guess that's okay for some kids, but for adults? It seemed silly, so we declined. The numbering at the theater was nonsensical, with one side saying 1-5 (or something along those lines), and the other one 6-10 (or something along those lines). Instead of having 1-5 and 6-10 facing each other so that the larger numbers like 10-15 are on the other side of the theater, they have no indication of the larger numbers being on the same wall as the smaller 1-5 numbers, so we had to ask, and wondered how that made any sense. As others mentioned, the theaters are quite small. We got lucky and found decent seats, but there was someone that kept making grunting sounds throughout the movie, so that was somewhat disruptive. We had a bit of an issue with parking because there are several restaurants and stores, like a Rooms To Go outlet, within the shopping strip, but we eventually found parking. Keep in mind, it was in the daytime, and at night, it can fill up even more. I cannot imagine how parking may be on a busy movie premiere day where everyone and their mother is coming out to see a much-awaited film. For this reason, as well as the ticket purchasing situation, I would recommend coming here with plenty of time to waste, better safe than sorry. read more

First time visiting this theater kinda glad it was for a $5 Tuesday! To begin with, there is no outside lighting usually a theater has its logo on but not this one. We skipped the popcorn & drinks line that was very long. No problem clearing check point as I had my tickets on AMC app. Our movie entrance #7 was very close but to our dismay there was a VERY STRONG musty smell... the seating is old & not up to date as in Pines AMC 9. This musty smell already is giving me a headache before the movie even begins!! Ugggh not coming here again even if it's closer!! read more
