I have been a loyal AMC customer for a long time and regularly come here to enjoy the latest movies. In the past, I have had many positive experiences, which is why my interaction today was especially disappointing. I was helped by a representative named Destiny, and unfortunately, the level of customer service I received was extremely poor. From the beginning of the interaction, her attitude came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. My family and I made a simple request for an extra popcorn container so we could share our popcorn, but instead of trying to help or responding in a friendly manner, Destiny made the situation feel like we were asking for something unreasonable. Her tone, facial expressions, and overall demeanor made us feel uncomfortable. When I asked a question, she appeared visibly annoyed, sighed, and acted as though our request was a burden. Customer service should be about making guests feel valued, not making them feel like they are causing an inconvenience. To make matters worse, she also failed to provide the candy and drink that were part of our order, which showed a lack of care and attention. What should have been a fun outing with my family was negatively affected by an interaction that could have easily been handled with basic courtesy and professionalism. I hope AMC takes this feedback seriously and works with Destiny to improve her customer service approach. Employees represent the company, and guests deserve to be treated with patience, respect, and a positive attitude. read more

Everything was wonderful with the exception of the online purchase. It kept getting stalled and saving the seats every time it stalled. The cashier couldn't get it resolved, but at least he did try! Nice to see a young person care about customer service! Then the manager tried many times to resolve it!! For whatever reason, she couldn't. I went ahead and got our popcorn and drinks. When I got back with those, my sister had told the manager that this was my birthday present, my big sister 63, took me to Wicked for my birthday 60!! She was a sweetheart and comped our tickets and said she hoped we had a happy birthday and enjoy the show!! When we went back to her house, she told her husband that's what she wanted for her birthday in December was to take her to the movies! They've been married for 41 years!! The comfort level of the seats were amazing and a full bar is there!! I wish we had one like this in Mt. Pleasant!! Ours is nasty !! Very ill prepared. My first time here (Stranger Things Finale). Very few of the advertised concession items were available (no nachos, no pretzel bites, No chicken tenders, no cheese sticks, no caramel gourmet popcorn), no bar tender to provide the advertised "stranger things" drink. And there is a SINGLE soft drink machine for the entire theater. When we left the line had probably 50 people waiting to fill one cup at a time. Definitely not a choice in the future. read more

They always have a wonderful selection of movies and various formats. They cater to many different preferences depending on how you like to watch your movies. Another good visit at AMC. One of two AMC theater's in the Columbia area. This location offers free refills on drinks, comfortable seats all within a clean environment. Good job on the upkeep on the Restrooms & with friendly employees throughout. I was even more happy with the customer service post visit. I realized my cell phone fell out of my jacket after I left the theater. As soon I called the following morning, the Manager told me he it in the Lost & Found...thank you to whoever found it & not stealing it. Although the theater was still closed when arrived the next day, the Manager kindly let me in & gave me my phone. The theater is located next to the mall. read more

Theater 8, Harbison AMC is the worst movie theater I have ever experienced. They do not dim the lights at the end of the previews. There was a light on BEHIND the screen and that destroyed the quality of the movie. They ran the Nicole Kidman short film endorsing coming to the movies for a quality viewing experience, but honestly it was the absolute worst experience I have ever had watching a film. I do not blame the employees that were working at the time, the manager should be held accountable instead. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. This facility had absolutely the worst staff I have ever seen. People were late to their movies because the 2 girls behind the counter were talking to each other in FULL CONVERSATIONS while servicing (I use that term very loosely) all the customers. The girl with the long braids and long nails took my order [a drink and pretzels, popcorn], heated up my food and then just left it sitting on the back counter. I stood there for 5 minutes and I had to ask another staff person to grab it for me. She also didn't ring me up for popcorn but by then there were 20 people waiting in line behind so I said forget it. I went later for popcorn before the movie started and same girl, barely acknowledged me and kept talking to another girl with shorter braids. I stood there with my money handed out because I saw the total but they were straight up facing each other talking. The bathroom floors were wet and I mean WET. Toilet paper everywhere, there was popcorn all over the theater when we walked in. Only ONE slush machine was working and only 2 flavors. This place needs to be shut down until they are given a new staff to train. Walking in there the staff felt like high schoolers just doing extra credit so they don't fail the class. read more

Well you have never seen anything like the experience I had tonight. AMC movie theaters struggling so bad did not even provide the bare minimum expectation of service. I went with my three great friends to see Godzilla versus Kong. I will save my feedback on the movie and the plot or lack there of for a layer of you. Simple Takeaway is that it was a very enjoyable popcorn film. Although the scary and sad part is popcorn was all we had. When you go to the movies you expect to have slushy's or sodas. This is because you will the porch from eating the popcorn and you want to stay energized, it is a treat that we all expect. When we arrive to AMC theater it was in disrepair, popcorn all over the floors no one inside except for the 40 employees, and a lack of general cleanliness and inventory. We begin our journey by asking for a large popcorn and a large soda, I asked for a Coke. The man in for me they only have diet Coke products which is absolutely disgusting and illogical, but then informed me that they did not have any carbonation in there soda machine. Impure discussed I requested a slushy which I thought was quench my thirst even though I would not be able to get a refill, it was at this point that I was alerted get the slushy machine was broken as well When we got inside the theater we enjoyed a quiet and dark experience for 10 minutes because they forgot to turn the projector on, but the audio was playing. How amazing! You've never seen anything like it. The movie was fine the sound was good the reclining seats did not go back enough so we were all sitting uncomfortable trying to adjust the whole time, and the controls were very unintuitive. At the end of the movie we all decided to exit and we were greeted by a lobby close side. We had to leave the theater through an unmarked side door without a handle on the outside. Very sketchy. Ultimately this AMC showed why movies are going out of business. read more

My fiancé, daughter, and I came here from Charleston to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Movie and we had a great time. It my daughter and my second time and my fiancé's first time seeing it. None of us had gotten the chance to go to concert. At this particular theater, we had a great time. The staff was so nice and was careful to make sure we got everything we wanted but also was so nice about items that were sold out. I point this out because the day before at a different theater company, the staff there was rude and didn't care about helping anyone. After we ordered our food and drinks, I gave our cashier a friendship bracelet. I handed out a few friendship bracelets to a couple of little girls that were ahead of us. One was with her mom and three girls were with their dad. They were all dressed up. We did have to wait in line for about 10 minutes before we could enter the theater. A group of girls was at the bottom of the theater exchanging friendship bracelets. It was so fun to see that. We ate our food while we waited for the previews to start. We had never been to this theater or anything like it. We don't have AMC theaters in Charleston. The recliners didn't work for 2 of our 3 seats (so minus one star for that). Overall, the theater was well maintained from what we could tell. There was a lot of room for people to walk by if they needed to get out of the row. One of the arm rests came up so it was like sitting on a couch. While watching the movie, the sound was great and the screen was clear, however there were some parts that seemed grainy where at the show we saw the day before at another theater, it was not grainy. A LOT of the Swifties were singing soooo loud and you could still hear Taylor so clearly! It was great!! No one was rude about standing in the way or anything like that. Everyone was so nice!! Overall, the staff was great and friendly, the food was delicious, the theater was clean and comfortable despite not all of seats working, and the atmosphere for Taylor was amazing! I have been using this theatre for over 20 year. It's convenient to use fr my home and I have used it with my kids for matinee movies that are affordable. I'm glad they added the reclining seats and the concessions are updated as well. All in all a nice place to bring the kids and enjoy a movie. read more

This location was absolutely filthy. We visited on Presidents' Day while most were at work. There was smoke from burnt popcorn, dirty lobby, dirty hallways, and confusion within the lobby. Recently renovated! Everything is much cleaner and relaxing. Relaxing chairs and wonderful audio. The reclining chairs are very comfortable and relaxing, but add those seat warmers? Yes please! You'll never have to be cold in a movie theatre again. Or if you have back problems, the seat warmers can really help ease the pain. The audio is top notch as well. Whether you're watching a musical or an action movie, everything is pitch perfect. The popcorn is also delicious. Warm, salty, and buttery, and enough to share! I suggest getting an Icee as well. Fine movie theater but not clean at all. Bathrooms are gross and the theater seats had food all over them

Absolutely the worst theater to go to. I paid for my tickets online ( didn't see the need cause we still had to wait). Anyway, we were seated in Thor not so easy to find seats. There were a couple instances where people literally were arguing over seats because your seats are not noticeably marked. Remember I said I purchased my tickets offline? Welp, I also ordered my food from online as well, so you'd think I'd get my food, right? 15-30 mins in no one bought my food. 45 mins in still no food. An hour in my boyfriend had enough and went to the front desk for my $17.00 worth of food. Concessions was closed. He came back. After the movie, I approached the manager who then asked the kitchen staff what happened to my order, no one knew. So I was comped 2 free movie tickets which I'm not going to use cause I'll pay mire at regal for better service. read more

I have been going to this theater for almost 30 years, and unfortunately it's starting to show it's age. Let's start with the positive: Their employees are always friendly. The concession line moves quickly, and every tastes good. Theaters are also very clean, and parking is ample. The bad: this theater is in desperate need of upgrades. Saw Dr. Strange last night, and while the movie was bad, the experience at the theater was almost as bad. The AC had gone out, and asked a few employees if the air could be turned down, as the southern humidity was kicking in. The gentleman said that they work in and off, and would maybe begin to feel the difference before we left. In my mind, this is unacceptable. In the dead center of SC, the summers are HOT. Having no AC makes for a terrible experience. There is a theater up the road that appears to have better maintenance, so I would hate for this theater to lose business over something small. In addition, the past few times I have went, the motorized chairs were clicking as if they were put of misalignment. I will most likely be back, but PLEASE fix the AC problem so that I don't have to decide which theater I will be going to! read more

This is a pretty mediocre movie theater. All of the latest movies can be found playing here. This location is no frills. One or two people max at the ticket window and expensive concessions (i.e. $4.50 Dasani 20 oz. bottled water). Seats are comfortable, but very worn. Carpet has to be at least 10 years old. Would recommend as long as you understand that this is almost the quality of a dollar theater. Big pro is that the tickets are pretty cheap -- matinees typically run around $6.50. read more

I live over 15 miles away and this is the only theater I go to. It drives my husband mad but they have HEATED seats. No one else does, not even other AMCs. They are usually clean and the staff are friendly. We have only had one issue in the little over a year we have been attending this theater exclusively. Reclining comfortable seats, that you can pick in advance, and that keep your butt super warm! Concessions is expensive - but that's everywhere. They sell beer, and I think wine. The loyalty program is terrific. However, those bathrooms need some work. It reeks of pee the moment you open the door and I have not once gone in there and it looked like someone cleaned - at all that day. I figured this was more of a late night thing, but I took my daughter one matinee to see a movie, and it was the same. It's a mess, and such a far departure from the theater. read more

This is my new favorite theater. It's not as popular as the one close by but the customer service here by far the best. The employees are attentive, friendly and informative. Their appearance is always neat and professional. The recent remodel added reclining seats with heat options for those who like it a little toasty. The drink station is self serve. It's been a year since going to this theater. The upgrades are great. The reclining chairs are comfy. The bar in the lobby is nice. The hallways look good. The image quality (2D) for Avengers Infinity War was good. The sound could have been a little louder. The only drawback is that the bathrooms need upgrades as well (rusty bolts, smelled at 11:30am). Overall, a good experience. Glad that they have remained general admission over assigned seating. That's part of the movie-going experience! read more

Even with renovations this place is still trashed! They need more help or more focus, still can't tell which. No tp, soap, or paper towels in rest rooms, counters near drinks are disgusting & out of correct lids and napkins. Our theater was freezing - not horrible if your heated seat works (guess what - mine didn't), previews started 5 mins late, popcorn & trash from previous movies in seats still. I frequent the AMC in Dutch Square, so I was extremely excited to "treat myself" for the new Avengers movie. The seats were comfortable, my only complaint in that department is that the first one I had chosen did not work. I also found it odd that I could not use my phone to have my tickets scanned, but the staff was easily able to print them at the counter and let me pass. Since there was no a long line for concessions this was a minor issue, but had there been a long line for the concessions this would have been a hinderance and would have defeated the point of me buying the tickets in advance to skip the line. The staff was extremely friendly and the theater was very clean throughout. I enjoyed my experience here and will probably come here more often instead of the Dutch Square location. read more

This is one of my favorite Theater. Fresh Popcorn good wine and great seating! I love the Sound!!!

Reclining seats are nice and movie played well but the entire place was disgusting with trash, from the hallways to the bathroom, to in the theater. 2 employees in the theater hallway were just chatting it up in a corner with what appeared to be customers and/or friends of theirs. An employee that was "sweeping" the floor very awkwardly stopped in the hall and started checking a few tickets because a customer stopped and asked her if she needed to see their tickets, having not noticed the two hallway employees that were surrounded by their friends in the hall. The employee did offer directions to their theaters. The bathrooms were also gross with toilet paper and trash everywhere and the sinks in disarray. The stall I chose also didn't even have any toilet paper in it . There was a bunch of large cleaning equipment lined up on the theater hallway wall. There pretty much just seemed to be no management oversight. Other AMCs I've been to in the past have been much better than this but this one is pretty bad. read more

Wow, Ive lived in the area for 3yrs, not sure how I missed this hidden GEM!! Yes its outdated but the price alone and military incentives is worth every penny, and Tues just got better for me. I will be supporting this theater from now on. The popcorn is way better than any theater in Columbia, nice and quite just like we like it!! Although the seats have been upgraded to heated recliners, frequently, I have walked into a theatre that has not been cleaned- which really sucks when you have assigned seating. Who wants to walk into a theatre with popcorn or spilled drink in your assigned seat? I wish they would fix this so that everyone can enjoy! read more
