Went to see One of Them Days at 4:40pm. The movie started on time which was good. The theater was a smaller one, not of the big budget films quality. The seats weren't saggy, which I appreciated. The bad - the theater was dirty. It did not seem like it had been swept of walked through. When our movie ended, the next customers came in and sat down in a now twice dirty theater. There was also a damaged line on the screen. Not the worst thing in the world but it's notice and just added to the unkept look of the theater. The popcorn was mid. Regal Sandhill is probably my least preferred movie theater in Columbia. Confusing parking lot, long lines for tickets and concessions, and restrictive assigned seating policies all add to a less than pleasant experience. Most recently I watched Accountant 2 there. The online seat selection would not allow me to leave only one open seat between my and another patron so I had to leave two ... yup, last minute fill-ins meant that I was seated next to people when there were still plenty of empty seats in the theater. Did not get any concessions because the lines were too long. read more

I will not go back to Regal it's so expensive lol! But honestly, I haven't been to Regal in years so this was an eye opener. They were still playing Moana 2 and my babies wanted to watch it so I decided to treat them. With their app, they make it easy to search movies, buy tickets, and even pre order concessions. You can rack up points for free concessions later. I will say their staff was nice and they keep the facility really clean. I have nothing bad to say about the actual theater, it's really great. Unfortunately going to the movies is so expensive. To reserve tickets online, they charge an almost $10 convenience fee and for 5 ppl (1 adult and 4 kids), costs me $83. They don't have kids trays like another theater has so I had to improvise. I did get a largo combo for $11 and it comes with large popcorn, large drink and a candy. It wasn't bad since you do get refills for popcorn and drink but tbh who is getting refills for that huge thing !?. I also got 2 small drinks (which were still huge) and 2 more candies and it costs me $50. So the fact that I spent $130 just to go to the movies, will be a pass for me next go round. The actual movie theater has comfortable seating and appears to be well maintained. Plenty of parking. I came during the matinee and it was less people and a nice ticket price. The bathroom can use a regular attendant because some people don't like to Clean behind themselves. i would like to say this theater is absolutely vile. first of all, i wanted to bring my sweet children to see this new movie i think it's called minors crack or craft, not sure! which i thought was a bit inappropriate even though it's pg 13. i let my babies in the theater and one of my sweet young baby boys reported back saying he found a USED condom and a positive pregnancy test near his seat. he even brought it with him and showed me, and it was just covered in popcorn butter and candy shards! when i picked them up a couple walked out and they were just SWEATY and something was dripping down her leg. they also said that midway through the movie jack black started glitching and the movie's program got hijacked into showing brazzers ads. not cool. read more

Came tonight to see Black Panther Wakanda Forever and I purchased my tickets online to avoid lines that process was simple and I paid extra for convenience of course. Once we arrived someone scanned my phone at the door and told me which direction the theater was. Concessions was nothing special just popcorn nachos candy and drinks. I cashed in on my birthday reward which was a free small popcorn. Two small icees, a bottled water and 1 box of candy was $25. Crazy I know but it's the movies so I expected it. Walking into the theater. I was in theater 11. It's tiny and dated! The seats in glad I didn't wear white because I would've had a stain. My seat had a wet spot on the left side. These are cloth seats so when the lights were on you could see how worn they were. If they keep these seats they're in need of a good deep deep shampoo. A good thing about the seats they do recline a bit. The theater was very warm I was relieved to walk outside into the cool air. The bathrooms whew so I'm not sure who cleans them or when but I walked in and walked right back out and just waited to get to my in-laws house because they were disgusting and apparently had little to no toilet paper I heard a woman complaining about the lack thereof. I had to remind myself this is not Atlanta so stop comparing apples to oranges but for this movie theater to be in the location it is it is in dire need of a renovation and thicker walls. There were frequent instances where I could hear people in the hallways over the movie. Crazy how my complaints are the same as those from over 4 years ago. This has to be the most disappointing, run down, disgusting movie theater we have been to in a very long time. We went to see Wicked and didn't even want to sit in the seats when we walked in. August 27th 2023 I rate this regal IMAX & RPX located in sand hill 1 star because I've never ever visited this regal location around columbia, Lexington and irmo. And I was very excited to watch "talk to me" in theaters and this one was the only one with available seating and I was on a waiting list to buy tickets on all regal website just for it to tell me it's full by the time it was my turn and I wanted to see this movie badly and I decided to just drive the 40 minutes to this theater to watch this movie just to get there to be ID at the door to even enter due to an altercation (fight) that had happened outside in the parking lot so they had enforced a curfew to having to be 21 to enter the theater after 10 of course the only time they had for the movie to be played was at 10:10pm and the one time I needed my ID I had left it in a friends car that is out of town. They had asked my age and I told them and my question is what was the point of asking my age if you aren't allowing anyone in without and ID. Anyways I eventually try to get a refund and this old man working the ticket booth started to be rude and had a manager there as well and they kept asking for my card number to give me a refund and I finally sent my boyfriend to the car to get my debit card because they were being rude and difficult. So I handed the guy my debit card and my phone with the tickets on it to receive a refund and he hands a receipt to me for me to sign and when I go to grab it to sign it he pushed the receipt even further to where he purposely meant for it to go on the ground. This theater looks very nice on the outside but does need a whole new management team and new team member employees. And if something is going wrong with the theater they should have a warning online notifying customers if they need an ID to go see a movie after 10 even though it's not a bar ITS A MOVIE THEATER! But after reviewing other reviews I'm highly glad I didn't get the chance to see the movie I wanted to because of people saying it's extremely hot, not cleaned and bathrooms are extremely dirty. I definitely won't be waisting my gas on this regal theater located in Sandhills ever again. But I recommend north lake village theaters in Lexington and Columbiana theaters in irmo both very nice well cleaned and kept up theaters with nice hardworking worker and I've never had problems with them! The 3D movies and the IMAX (and the fact Yelp! won't let you) are the only things standing in the way of giving this dump zero star. The theater is filthy, expensive and run down. The seats are worn, and need a steam cleaning or a coupon for a free tetanus shot. Even the pitch of the seating was off; the slope was wrong. Virtually no seat had the right angle to watch the film. Long lines, one snack bar and exorbitant prices even by movie theater standards make me question if I ever want to see a movie at a Regal Cinema ever again. I remember when this shopping area and movie theater was new. Back then it was first come first served. Seems like the only thing that's changed is the seating system. It's now reserved seating. Which is cool, but the seats don't recline much and your feet don't elevate. I'd like to know what makes movie theater tickets increase. We get similar quality experience of yesteryear with a more expensive ticket price. Sound quality is average and the picture quality is the same. For this advance screening, I was able to secure the last 4 seats together that weren't on the first two rows at the screen. As for the ticket purchase, I ordered through the Fandango app. I'm still not sure of service fees for ordering via your phone or online. You're actually being penalized for being efficient and not using the physical box office! read more

Uhm, I am not a fan of this theater. Although there are a few things I can appreciate. So lets start positive ... 1. I went on an opening weekend for a very popular movie and I was unable to find showtimes ANYWHERE (I searched different cities and everything). I'm sure this theater opened up the extra showtime which allowed me to secure the seats. 2. The seats were actually comfortable. They didn't recline and they were a little dated, but you can lean back in them and the cushions were plush. They were the next best thing to the recliner seats. 3. Location - the location is wonderful. There was plenty of eateries and shopping in the area. Now for the other review. 1. The parking is OUTRAGEOUS. You will be lucky to find a parking spot in general. When we went, the overflow lot was full. People were driving around asking "Are you coming out" ... nah bruh. 3. The movie started late due to them needing to clean the theater. The movie was supposed to start at 930, but they didn't open the theater until about 10 minutes before. Which created a mad dash to the door, despite having the assigned seats. 4. The screen seemed old. Like yes, it was a huge screen, but the image just seemed dated. 5. The place was DIRTY. The floors everywhere, except for the theater they just cleaned, were dirty. Popcorn was everywhere. The place could use a general sweeping. 6. No organized line for the snack bar. Overall, there are definitely better locations, but for a last minute reserved ticket - this will do. read more

Super Mario Bros on IMAX screen theater #16 did not fill the screen, theater smelled of foul body odor, sound system only played out from behind the screen so there was no surround, it was too loud (an average of 78 decibels). No Raisinets though they were in the display case & no place to put my own toppings on my popcorn. First time out for a movie since before the pandemic and yuck. One star because at least the deafening volume mostly drowned out the teens talking throughout the movie; even the younger kids in there had more manners. My advice is invest in a big tv and stay at home- lordt knows I will. read more

Arrived early and no issue with parking because let's face it, we're in the Sandhill's mall. As well as no line at the box office and short line at the concession stand. Theater is pretty standard no assigned recliner seats here, to be fair IDK how many theaters in the area may have it. In NYC it seems to be the thing at most major locations. However, they are doing some development @ Sandhill, so maybe an update Renovation is in the foresight to accommodate all the new residents and visitors?! Overall theater was clean and filled pretty quickly due to the proximity to the release date. This theater could use a thorough cleaning. The staff were friendly and very polite. However, upon arrival for a 2:35 movie there was popcorn all over the floor by the concessions. It looked horrible. The seating is nice, you can recline. There are booster seats for kiddos which are located close to the concessions. The theater was considerably warm...uncomfortably warm. I ordered tickets online to see a movie in IMAX 3D (this is the only theater in the area that supports that format) for the weekend afternoon show. I drove 40 minutes with my daughter and when we arrived we are met with a closed theater and a sign saying they are closed for maintenance and refunds for online orders had been initiated yet I had not received my money back. I tried calling and after dealing with all of the automated systems, I was finally able to speak to a real person by selecting the lost and found option. I was then told that they had a plumbing issue the night before and there was nothing they could do help help me. They were not even sure if the issue would be fixed before the next day. I am still not sure how plumbing affects a movie theater or snacks but It left me deeply concerned about how good this place is and how sad my region is if this is the only one that supports IMAX 3D. read more

I went to see the new Jurassic World movie today. When I got there, I was trying to buy my tickets through the computer system. They had two of them, each one I tried to pay for it, and was told that they were both broke. I then went to the main concession stand, I told the lady that I wanted 2 adult tickets and 2 kids tickets for IMAX. She charged me for regular tickets and I didn't know until I paid for it. When I saw it I told the lady that it was suppose to be 4 IMAX tickets. I asked her to fix it. She said okay, I just paid over $50 to buy the tickets. She then wanted to charge me an extra $40 for the IMAX tickets after I told her before that was what I wanted. I then just took the 4 reg tickets. They also have souvenir cups and buckets for the movie. I asked the concessions about the cup and bucket. I was told that they were sold out. (Whatever) I then asked for a package of candy. I was told that the only candy they have was on an end cap. Whatever is there is what they have. (Ugh) At this time I was about to lose it. I then took a deep breath and asked for a drink. I asked for fruit punch, it was out. I asked for lemonade, it was out. I then asked what do you have? She said we only have Pepsi and mountain dew. REALLY!!!!! I had to take a Pepsi. I then went to the theater to watch the movie. About the middle of the movie, I needed a refill and use the bathroom. I was waiting for the refill and I saw people ordering the souvenir cups and getting them. I then asked the crew that I thought you guys were out of the cups. I was told that they had those cups. Absolutely the most trashy and ghetto movie theater I've ever been to. The concessions area was completely trashed and looked like it hadn't been picked up all day. There were (literally) 100+ teenagers just hanging around the lobby when all kids 17 and under aren't even supposed to be there without a parent passed 9 pm. Our seats that we paid for hours ahead of time were taken by some kids that refused to move. 7 other people wondered around the theater looking for their seats which were also taken by kids movie hopping. I wouldn't have even bothered with a review if I hadn't met 4 other people at guest services asking for a refund for the SAME EXACT ISSUE all from different movies. I'm thankful that they were willing to give us two movie vouchers so we could still see avengers tomorrow but we will be driving to the other regal across town. read more

Everything about this movie theater is strange, unsettling, uncomfortable. I went last night for the first time, and also the last time. I wondered if perhaps I had become a character in a surrealist art film. The employees all seemed like they had one foot in reality and the other in another universe, mumbling and not quite understanding the words I was saying, smiling vaguely with far away looks in their eyes. Three employees were like this. Seriously. The place was absolutely freezing (at the end of November...broken heating?), and large wooden pallets were left lying around the hallways, leaving me to wonder if I had wandered into an off-limits part of the venue. But no, I was in the right place. The theater I was seated in smelled vaguely of vomit. The bathroom was located quite far away, and my tiny bladder and I had to visit it three times. Each time, all 50 or so stalls were empty, yet on the third visit, ALL of the sinks had bits of popcorn in them. Not lots of popcorn, but enough to make it extremely creepy. Was the bathroom haunted?? And what about the weird machine in the bathroom called "Protocol" selling Tampax and sour liquid candy????? There was a room with glass walls, and a long table all set up for a birthday party, with clean plates, napkins, glasses, balloons even. But over the course of my three hour stay at this theater, the birthday room remained empty, waiting for guests that never came. I've decided that maybe Wednesday nights, this movie theater sort of slides into an alternate reality. Or maybe it just always occupies some weird territory on the edge of bad dreams.
