It had been years since I've been to a cinema, but the opprotunity presented itself recently so we took in an afternoon movie. A large multiplex facility with a large open interior. Snack bar concessions to the left of the entry. Also where you purchase your cinema tickets and any of items you might like. The staff are all friendly and courteous. We got our tickets and a drink and a popcorn each. Like I said in the beginning, it had been a while since I was last in a movie house. It was almost $70 bucks for two people and I used my veteran discount on the tickets or it would of been more like eighty. The theater itself was nice enough, but nothing fancy. It actually looked a little dated and dirty. Okay sound and a fair screen, my tv at home has a better picture in my opinion. It used to be an inexpensive way to go out, going to the movies. No more. Went to see Mufasa today......great movie for adults and kids. I love AMC theaters and their seating. They also have lots of movie memorabilia for sale , most collectors items. The lines move pretty quickly most of the time. Staff is great but sometimes there are not many working. You can order your drinks and snacks ahead of time. This makes it so much more convenient as they are always ready when you get there. Seats are super comfortable as they recline and have heat. My only complaint here is that it could be a little more clean and tidy. I'm sure this is a result of limited employees. Still a great place to catch a movie! read more

This was the first time in 5 years I have been to a theater. We went to see Jurassic World. First off the theater was very nice. Very clean. There seats recline and were heated. Sound quality was great as well. Only problem was the people around us would not shut up. Talked the entire movie. Now I'm remembering why I quit going in the first place. Not safe for kids. Geared toward selling alcohol and it attracts the wrong crowds. The theater is Dirty. There is no control with security. We had to leave our movie when teenagers came in, start talking, and were doing other things. It didn't feel safe. read more

Room our daughter to see Wicked and she had a great time! The seats were comfortable. The order in advance was a nice feature to not have to stand in line for popcorn and snacks, and although the bathroom is outside the teacher, it's right next to the check in, so the guy allowed us to use it. read more

Have to say on my return to this theater after the renovations I was immensely impressed. Before it was smelly, dirty, and all kinds of other words I dare not use. I've been here twice in a week now and I love the new seating with heat and reclining chairs. You can pick your own seats now too when you buy your tickets. The bathrooms are much cleaner too. Thankfully. They have added a bar! Not sure how much all that is but it looked nice and well stocked. If price of popcorn and soda is anything to go by I'm sure it's not cheap but a nice option. They have better and more variety on food too. Great sound and Visual during the movie. Just a lot of previews before the movie but that will never change! Lots of parking and and great restaurants around ! Finally a theater close by I don't have to cringe to go to. Hopefully they keep up the cleanliness! read more

We had a very pleasant movie experience! We hadn't been to this location before, and I didn't realize they had a full bar inside. Pretty cool. We got matinee tickets, so we didn't check it out, although I can only imagine the prices of the drinks. We paid $8 for a coke. (I know, it's the norm at theaters, but still.) We reserved and picked out our seats online, no trouble with entry or locating them. The seats are recliners and super comfy! Usually I get freezing cold at the movies, but it was actually a comfortable temperature the whole time. My biggest complaint is that I felt the theater didn't get dark enough when the movie started. We were watching a horror film that was pretty dark on screen, so maybe that's why I felt that way. But it would have definitely been a better viewing experience if it got just a bit darker. Went to see the new Avatar flick and it was decent. Kind of dirty for the matinee and the concession staff didn't even ask for proof of ticket. Definitely expensive for a drink and medium popcorn but it served the purpose and the recliner was heated! I'll give a 3 1/2 and half is for the fact I will probably go back and try the plant based chik'n nuggets next time, but the next Avatar may be out by then! read more

My friend and I went and saw the Eras Tour movie and I was delighted they still had the Taylor Swift cups and popcorn buckets. I bought the cup/drink and they gave me another cup to put my actual drink so that I didn't have to get my Taylor cup dirty. I appreciated that. They also had the self service soda machine with TONS of soda and flavor choices. My only complaint is that the seats were more narrow than experienced at other theaters. Any theater that has matinees and/or weekly special deals already has my attention because I'm a true movie buff! With this particular cinema, not only is it extremely close to where I live and easy to get to, but there's always more than enough parking for everyone. It's never crowded whenever I go, which is always a plus considering there's still a pandemic going on and social distancing is steel a smart thing to practice, even today with vaccines. The only thing I wish this theater had was better seats that either massaged you or reclined more so that its patrons could enjoy their viewing experience even more. I've even been to some movie-theaters where they serve you alcoholic beverages and have miniature tables at their seats... So I feel that all this place needs is an up-to-date upgrade. read more

The power reclining heated seats are so comfy, and I also love the pretzel bites and oreo popcorn with way too much butter added to it. Buying tickets ahead on the app and selecting seats works perfectly and has never given me any issues. Walk in, get your snacks (or order them ahead to your seat), and head right to your seat. I never thought of checking in here before, however I have to say it's quiet comfy to watch a movie. They have the recliner seats & great variety of food & drinks. They even have a bar now. Yeah that's right, a bar for adult beverages. I haven't tried ordering anything just yet but know it's available. I have the rewards program & have the popcorn bucket to make it a bit cheaper throughout the year for purchasing popcorn . When I'm at the movies, I have to have popcorn & I love that you get to butter your own popcorn, do as little or as much as you want. The staff there has always been awesome. The recliner seats even have heating option. The food choices are actually not bad tasting, I did the flatbread pepperoni pizza today & it wasn't bad at all. Please excuse the bad pic, we also had pretzel bites with cheese dip (no pic). All in all, I definitely recommend this movie theater!! read more

I am beyond livid. My wife wanted to go to a movie so we arranged our day around attending a 12:45 show. I purchased tickets online at 11:55. We arrived at the theater and were told our movie had been cancelled because no tickets had been sold and they scheduled a daycare group for a private screening. So, an advertised showing that we even purchased tickets for had been cancelled earlier in the day. They asked if I wanted to see something different (there were no other shows my wife was even remotely interested in) and then said we'd be refunded. I asked to speak with a manager and the shift manager said they hadn't sold any tickets to the show earlier in the day so they scheduled the daycare. I explained that I had scheduled my day around their advertised show and had driven 35 minutes to see the show and that a refund really doesn't correct the problem. She (Barbara) indicated that was all they could do. I asked to speak with the GM or for a number to call the district office and was given a brochure with the general 888 number (which, when called, indicated they don't receive phone contacts and directed me to go to the web site). This was horrible customer service in so many ways 1 - If you advertise a show, the show should take place. There are exceptions...mechanical issues, safety issues. And if no one shows up you can turn the projector off. But just because no one had purchased tickets online by some ambiguous time in the morning doesn't mean no one is expecting to see the show. Everyone doesn't purchase tickets online. If a person travels to a theater to buy a ticket five minutes before the show, they shouldn't have to worry about the show not happening. 2- If you have a showtime that is cancelled, you probably shouldn't be advertising the show. You definitely shouldn't still be selling tickets on your web site / phone app. 3- Having no personalized way for an unhappy customer to reach someone is poor. Literally giving them a phone number to call that tells them to go to a web site is pathetic. 4- When you have a customer that you have treated so poorly, you cannot make them whole again. What you can do is to try to lessen the problem by offering something that will make them feel like you care. Offering a refund isn't actually an offer (you have to give the refund as you provided no show). A couple of movie passes with a concession stand coupon would go a long way to mend the relationship. This used to be Movie Theater Customer Service 101. I worked at a theater for a number of years. My son was in management at Carmike a decade ago. But telling a customer that you cancelled their show that morning, hate that you came all this way and wasted a chunk of your day, you should get a refund but there's nothing else we can do? Sad. I am a lifelong movie theater fan and will obviously not stop attending shows. I will, however, look for other theater options before settling on one with this type of service. read more

I have got to say I love going to the theatre now more then ever. The process was so easy and we had such a good time! Due to covid precautions, everything is so clean in this theatre. Drinks and food items can be ordered in advance online with your movie tickets- then picked up at the counter. They even have a text system to pick up your order and avoid any lines. They social distance the seating- which is LUXURIOUS. Leather reclining seats with built in seat warmers if needed. The popcorn is good- the drinks are great, and they have delicious food options. Amazing hot dogs! The staff was so friendly, the theatre only had a few people in it, and there is always seats between you and anyone else. We watched the new Disney movie about the dragons- and it was so good! We will definitely be back. read more

Went for a late night movie on a weekday (10:30pm) there weren't any other customers in the lobby, or theatre except one other couple. The staff in the lobby were very polite and quick to scan the app and give us our pre-paid tickets and concessions. The movie itself was 'bones and all' it was a great movie. Sound and picture quality was amazing, the reclining heated seats were very comfortable, and the theatre itself was very clean. I've been to this theatre several times with family and friends my whole life and I will continue to do so! read more

AC was out in the main lobby and common areas with backup remote units not helping to keep things comfortable. Theaters had working AC. Waited 45 minutes for endless adverts and trailers to finish before movie started. Several people in other rows were also visibly frustrated with the long duration and endless reminders to silence cell phones. Tip is to show up 40 minutes after start of posted movie time and hope no one is in your assigned seat. read more

I took my son here to see Paw Patrol. They offer a 30% discount on movies before 4:00. The theater was clean and the staff was nice. The new seats are comfortable. My only problem was there was no one directing you to which theater your movie was in. I had to put everything down to look at my phone to see it. Good theater to catch a movie. Love that AMC lets you book your tickets through Fandango. You can then get your ticket at the booth when you arrive. It would be even better if they would scan your digital ticket from your phone at the line. Snack lines are manageable and move fast. Fountain machines have a good selection and let you mix in other flavors. Obviously the snacks are overpriced but this is the same at any movie theater. The theater seating is good. Comfortable chairs, all with good views of the screen. Only downside is this section of town can be a real pain in the ass to drive to. Lots of traffic in this area. read more

This theater has been here for quite a long time and it lives on with some upgrades and improvements. The biggest upgrade is that they finally have plush, reclining seats. It really makes a big difference. The staff have always been as friendly as one would expect and they have been generally clean in my experience. What more is there to say? You can watch movies here and buy expensive popcorn snacks and drinks... but for the feature set, there is no reason to drive 20 minutes to one of the competitors. read more

The now, AMC Classic Hanes 12, is a theater that has been around for years. AMC's purchase and nice remodel has left this a pretty nice venue to catch a movie! It's been stadium seating for quite some time, but new carpeting and nicer seats has improved the experience! It's not reclining seats, but it is a very comfortable plush seating that makes sitting through those 2 1/2 hour movies more enjoyable! With my recent switch from MoviePass to AMC's pass model, this will certainly be another option for movie watching! read more

This is the worst theater. I have never experienced trying to watch a movie with multiple people talking the entire time. The theater did nothing to stop the constant chatter. One of the best theaters in town. It's not as up to date as the Grand Theater but you pay for those accommodations. If your looking to watch a movie comfortably, then AMC works. Concession stands are overly priced but not as nearly costly as the Grand. Very clean facility and friendly staff. read more

Not a bad theater despite it being a little outdated. I think a refurbishment would bring more people into the theater. I would love to see a reservation system for the chairs and new recliners. As of right now I am told that there is no plans for an update, it's a "Classic AMC" movie theater. The plus side is they now have the AMC stubs A+ program witch gives you three movies a week at a $20 a month. It gives you the premier advantage too so you don't have to wait in the long food line. A Pretty good deal. The soft drinks are self serve so you can get unlimited refills. The have a small bar at this location that is a bit on the expensive side. So in conclusion please update this or build a Prime location! read more

This place is in desperate need of an upgrade. Most of the theaters smell really bad, some of urine. The chais are outdated. This place needs a makeover I know AMC is capable of. Since it is stand alone they need to really consider it. Other than that the service is friendly. My complaints are mostly about the smells and uncomfortable seating. read more

I'm just going to come out and say it.. Go to the Grand if you want to see a movie in Winston-Salem. This theater used to be great, but it's outdated and I've heard from some electricians that service their machines that it's best to stay away from the popcorn (the employees don't clean the machine regularly/properly). I am not the type of person to complain, but do not waste your hard earned money here. We had a pretty terrible experience tonight with obnoxious teenagers talking loudly the entire movie (as another reviewer also mentioned from her own experience), and multiple people complained to management as well as my fiancé and I. I assure you that they will do absolutely nothing. They sent a few staff members in for a few minutes to observe, but they left after the teenagers stopped talking obviously because they saw the workers there. I was close to telling the people behind me to be quiet myself, but I knew they would most likely retaliate so I chose to sit and try to ignore. As the other reviewer said, this theatre is way too expensive for the lack of authority and the outdated atmosphere. They charge about the same as brand new, updated AMCs which is ridiculous to me because the quality is most definitely not the same. I understand that it isn't anyone's fault for obnoxious moviegoers, but it is the fault of management for refusing to remove the party or refusing to give any sort of warning.
