I've seen a couple films here now and have enjoyed the experience. I love supporting small and local, and the location in downtown is unbeatable - next to a ton of shops and restaurants like Chill, Camino, Bookmarks etc. The theaters are small and intimate which is nice because you get a great view of the screen from any seat. They have beer, wine, and snacks for purchase. Matinee showings for $9.50 before 4pm are a nice budget friendly option too. Friendly staff and service. I would say if you're looking for an ultra comfortable, loud surround sound kind of experience, you won't really get that here. But aperture is cozy, cute, and fun nonethless. They show more Indie picks too if that's your thing. @azfitfoodfun

Aesthetic: Charming Independent movie theater with first run and indie films, movie rentals, beer and treats. Experience: This was one of the best Indie theaters we've been to in the U.S. I've always found comfort in small homey theaters, and a ton of love went into designing this atmosphere. They had a wide variety of snacks, beers, seltzers, wine, and popcorn to choose from at the concession stand. When you walk upstairs they had a small movie rental center with VHS and DVD's for rent. There are creative movie posters adorning the walls as you walk into your theater. We watched "I saw the TV Glow" and it was the perfect movie to watch at this theater, great vibes! I'm ready to visit again just to watch another film here. Conclusion: I'd highly recommend supporting this theater if you're staying in Winston Salem, it's the best!

Will forever love the ambience but the seats are uncomfortable to me. I know that's a huge financial duty but it could really help customers. The last time I went one man was sitting on the end of a row with a fold out chair. The concessions are super affordable and I would be willing to pay a little more to make sure the cinema stays open. I appreciate this gem in the city so much, it is perfectly aligns with the arts culture of Winston Salem. I have seen wonderful films here that I would only want to see in a place such as a/perture. Come prepared to park on the street and perhaps pay during certain hours as there is no parking lot, you will find a spot however.

Sound system too loud. Popcorn $7.00. Lady next to me reeked of pot. Left early. Won't go back.

Cool vibe. Less theatre space than the typical theatre. Love to go on the cheap movie day. I think on Tues or Wed?

This place is cool as hell. Nice being able to see movies that probably don't show in regular theaters.

Very nice small and clean movie theater that plays mostly high-quality and lesser-known films. Highly recommended!

Do the arm rests in the seats fold up here?

You will be virtually alone in the, albeit small, theaters. You can lay down over 4 seats if you want

A $5 movie program they have here where each week they spotlight a movie for limited run with one or two showings, a chance to see a hit movie before it leaves theater. I got lucky ! Great not to have to spend a fortune as you can at the movies. They also give you a coupon when you buy your ticket for a popcorn and drink combo at discount price. Everything is done by self check out for tickets, with a person there to tell you where your theater is. They have a lot of concessions here too. Bathrooms clean, and the theater was pretty empty for my show. They have all the newest movies here and imax available. Lots of parking, and easy to navigate. This was a nice break in my rainy day, I'll be sure to see what's on their Final Cut showings in future.

You can buy your tickets ahead of time online or use the Kiosk inside the main lobby. Concessions is in the main lobby and they have a few registers going at once so there is no long lines usually. You have your normal movie theater choices, nothing out of the ordinary. They do have a few specialty alcoholic drinks available, as well as a frozen Jack & Coke. Everything is a bit pricey. The theater itself was clean and you have assigned seats so no rush. Seats are reclinable and very comfortable. Lightning in the back row was dim and my wife almost ended up landing on her ass trying to find her seat in the dark. Movie quality and sound were great! Definitely will be back but probably eat ahead of time or sneak in some snacks......yes that's a Latino move but it's ok because I'm Latino! Go catch a movie, you won't be disappointed!

With…read more$7 shows, a wide variety of refreshments sold (from beer and wine to popcorn and assorted candies) and an all-male comedian roster, this was truly a treat that left its sold-out crowd guffawing and gagging, literally, over the deliverances of jokes that ranged from raunchy adult to downright childish and silly! These groups of comedians did not come to disappoint as they approached everything from crowd interactions to tongue-in-cheek monologues performed. Marriage, modern day behaviors and protruding manholes were just a boisterous bit of memorable subjects discussed, leaving the crowd both stunned and stuck in their seats, doubling over with laughter. Myself (and my friends that I brought along) arrived just 15 minutes before the sold-out show only to enter a jam-packed theater house full of comedy-lovers. Seated directly in the front row (because there were absolutely no other available seats), I confess to feeling a tad bit anxiety over the possibility of becoming one of the comedians' targets to tease... but as the show commenced, I/we was/were left more than thrilled to have the best seats in the entire house! Would I go again when these "idiots" return to the soapbox & silverscreen in Salem? Uhhh, duhhhhh! Should others be sure to check out whenever they do make their way back to perform? At that affordable price, you'd be an idiot not to!

I might be wrong about this, but I *think* they play pre-show trailers before the start time, so your show really starts at its posted time. Seriously, I went to buy an Icee, the machine was still getting going, and the staff member offered to walk it to me at my seat when it was ready!

There's been a lot of talk about Trosa Thrift store around town lately. I've seen it all over…read moresocial media so a friend and I decided to check it out on a Friday afternoon. Trosa is located on Peters Creek Hwy in the Food Lion strip center at the Clemmonsville exit. It's easy to get to and there's plenty of parking which I love. Right inside the door is their whole furniture section, they have tons of tables, chairs, dressers , etc. they even have a whole section of office specific furniture. The prices are very reasonable. This would be a furniture flippers paradise. Towards the back they have shelves of everything from pillows to whole sets of dishes, sports equipment and the most medical mobility equipment I've ever seen anywhere. I'd say, if you are in need of a walker, a bath seat or portable toilet for someone look here because they probably have it at a fraction of the cost it would be to purchase new or rent. The clothing is grouped all together but they aren't keeping it organized as well as it needs to be. All different sizes were mixed in together and I quickly got frustrated and gave up. Both of us had found an item in the kitchen area we wanted so we headed to check out. The workers were very friendly as well. I'll definitely be checking out Trosa regularly in the future. Trosa supports substance abuse treatment. If you want to donate to them, they offer pick up for larger items or you can bring your items to their donation drop off around the back of the store. Just follow the signs.
