My wife and I saw the show last week and the cast, music, and story had us wanting to, (but we restrained ourselves) sing along and stomp our feet. Most will recognize many of the songs but "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" is probably the most recognizable. Once again, as in most community theater shows we've seen in the Triad, the cast is full of amazingly accomplished actors and singers. Curly (Chris Cannon), Ado Annie (Martha Glenn Bowers), Laurey (Rachel Squier), and Arien Pace (Ali Hakim) were perfect in their roles. BUT I have to say the entire cast was fabulous and deserves special mention. Go - you will have a great experience and, like us, will look forward to the next LTWS show.

Located in the heart of downtown you can conveniently grab a bite to eat and walk to the theatre after. There is $5.00 paid parking diagonally across the street. There is a door greeter as soon as you walk up. The lobby is small and cozy with restrooms and a small concession stand for drinks and snacks, including wine. Tickets to their events can be purchased ahead or at the door, but some events sell out quickly. The staff is friendly and direct you to your seats. As for this play, it was both funny and emotional and really made you think about people and their past trauma and emotions. The seats were comfortable but can be noisy when someone gets up during the show to use the restrooms. The production itself was on point and entertaining. I will definitely continue to frequent them and catch other shows. Definitely an affordable night out.

I have been to Theatre Alliance multiple times and every show I have seen is spectacular even for the small space on the little stage. There is a small lobby, a fully stocked bar and a great helpful staff. The layout is very well organized and a great use of space. I didn't feel too closed in and there was a great ventilation system. The actors were very professional and very polished and I was amazed at how they managed to pull off a play called "Groundhog Day". Afterward we stayed to have our picture taken w the cast, what fun! There is an upstairs theater as well that they use for bigger productions I assume. Can't wait to see their next production, you can't go wrong for an excellent quality play and $21 ticket!

The galleries are filled with standout pieces like Peale's 1795 portrait of the Robinsons, Thomas Cole's woodland scene, and Albert Bierstadt's Sierra Nevada landscape, each out perfectly framed by the calm, refined setting. Did I mention the Georgia O'Keeffe landscape? There's one of these here too. Beyond the paintings, the museum offers a thoughtful look at period clothing, children's toys, and even the inner workings of the estate's organ, which is a rare treat to see up close. The whole experience is stepping into a carefully preserved world where art, architecture, and history all share the same space. It's all wonderful until a few loud visitors decide the museum is the right place for a group chat and a few "Wow, check this out!" comments that the ushers seem committed to letting breathe. We've done a few of these before and really enjoyed them, always ending up with something useful and unique to us, like bowls, vases etc r this time was supposed to be bird house, but we went rogue and made console holders instead. The "Taste of art" classes are offered in many subjects, pottery, wood working glass, print making etc...no experience is needed, it's truly geared towards beginners to see if it's something you'd like pursue further with other classes. Pricing is reasonable, staff has always been friendly, open to helping and supplies are typically always provided. We've done this as a date night to break routine several times and no doubt will do it again. Get your creative juices flowing and go try something new!

The cost is $160 but they do have scholarships available. I was blessed to be awarded one and only had to pay about $60 for the class! This particular class is every Tuesday night for the month of September. There are LOTS of creative classes available in numerous mediums. I'll post a few screenshots to give an idea! They also have classes for youth! There is a parking lot directly across from the building. Just be mindful not to park in any reserved spots. There is also some street parking nearby. The location is visually appealing which I appreciated. The staff members I encountered were very pleasant and helpful as I found my way to the photography studio. The instructor Sydni Bibb is very engaging, helpful and supportive as we all learn what we're doing. I will be relocating soon but if I weren't, I'd be coming here for lots more opportunities to foster my creative side! Incredible place

We went into the theater shop midday and they asked the lovely woman running the theater if we could have a tour? She was in the middle of getting ready for that night's Rocky Horror Picture Show, but in true sweet Southern hospitality, cheerfully let us in so we could look around and she could talk to us about the establishment. The theatre was lovingly restored in the 1980s by locals who turned it into a nonprofit. PBS broadcasts its Song of the Mountains show here monthly. The woman we spoke to was working on grants to bring in movies and other performances to the theater. It would be a great venue for all of the above. As I had an early flight home the next day, we didn't come back to see the show, but I truly believe this is a gem to be checked out in Marion.
