Tickets are $27 for a two day pass. The staff provides you with a map and circles all the stops so you will not miss a thing. You can go in any order you'd like. There is a lot of walking so make sure you have comfortable shoes on. There are also restroom stops along the way that are marked on your map as they are not obvious. In the buildings you can see various trades performed and learn about the Moravian history. I enjoyed the Doctor's House; Boy's School as I had not seen those before but it was great to see the other buildings again and get questions answered by the staff. MESDA is now an additional fee and not included with the Old Salem ticket. Then there are just two tours a day. The Frank L. Horton Museum has two self guided galleries. There are a few places to eat while at Old Salem. The Tavern of Old Salem is a sit down restaurant with table service. The Flour Box has sandwiches, pastries and salads as well as a traditional tea service. Winkler Bakery has breads, cookies and pastries. Old Salem has done a great job of preserving history and lots of the exhibits are hands on. There are signs that say "please touch" in some of the buildings.

Interestingly enough there are private residences mixed in as well. OK, so maybe it's really not incredibly riveting but it's still kinda interesting to see how early American life played out for Moravian, Black, and Indigenous peoples that lived in the South. A few of the buildings had docents in period dress relating the history of the particular house (some of these require separate admission tickets) or demonstrating their trades. For instance, we passed by a gunsmith's shop with a working craftsman inside, but it cost to go in. The whole area includes the Historic Town of Salem, the Gardens at Old Salem, the Frank L. Horton Museum Center, and the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts (MESDA) and is a few blocks from Winston-Salem's main downtown area, so probably best to park at the lot of the Museum/Gallery/visitor center and walk across the very cool Old Salem Covered Bridge to the village. We didn't have time to see all the grounds - which by the way, also have the site of the Original Site of Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop, which we did see, and were hugely disappointed by. It ain't nothing but an empty lot. But if you like old stuff like I do, you'll dig Old Salem even if you just go for half an hour. Plus it's mostly free.

It is the same ticket price for all (in said section price you choose), other than toddlers -- they are free. Parking? Well, you know how it goes, so get there early. Lots get coned off after game starts, even with open spaces. Park at your own risk. The playground is beside the batting cage. They have a bouncy house that is attended but there is no one to attend and "injury guard" at the playground. The kids are unruly, no parents in sight. And I mean, if they were? -- I didn't let my kids play there tonight. Seating aisles are very tight, like, old school stadium tight. Other than playground, I have no major qualms, but this is not the stadiums fault. I guess? Would have just liked to have a little bit of refereeing. Food is your good ol' classics. Would like to see some growth, but there is a great up and coming food mall right next door, Blessing Park (I think). Which also provides a splash park, this is explained on the website. Everything entree, side, & adult bevs pretty much runs about $8, of course snacks a bit cheaper. Beside the HPU vintage section, you may enjoy cocktails and wine, as well in a bit more relaxed and roomy environment. Very clean facility; maintenance working the whole time with smiling faces and happy to converse. Friendly staff and volunteers all around. Merchant shop and the High Pint both super awesome. Beyond just the looks of everything being pristine and new, the stadium has a good amount of amenities for a smaller park, specials on ticket packages for many occasions, and some decent food. I've been to three games here, and each time was very happy with my seats. Right now, most games have a lot of seats available, so once you're in you can kind of maneuver to get the angle you want. Either way, you won't find a bad seat in the house, and in the outfield there is plenty of room for standing and watching as well. The Rockers are an independent baseball club, meaning they aren't a farm team for a major league program. There are several interesting things about this, chief of which is that you'll see guys with MLB experience mixed in with guys who have never played at a level higher than this one. Scores can get out of control sometimes, but two of the three games I attended were played close and relatively clean. Finally, with independent baseball, remember the team has to support itself financially in full. Some items are more expensive than at affiliated clubs, but nothing at least to my eye, is outrageous. Last thing, on fireworks nights, thanks to the turf field... they let the fans out onto the field to watch the show! That is a really cool experience, and one that you won't want to miss if you have kids that are learning about baseball.

Walking through the estate gives you a vivid sense of how the Reynolds family lived, entertained, and in one unfortunate case, met their end, all wrapped in the quiet elegance of a 1917 mansion. The galleries are filled with standout pieces like Peale's 1795 portrait of the Robinsons, Thomas Cole's woodland scene, and Albert Bierstadt's Sierra Nevada landscape, each out perfectly framed by the calm, refined setting. Did I mention the Georgia O'Keeffe landscape? There's one of these here too. Beyond the paintings, the museum offers a thoughtful look at period clothing, children's toys, and even the inner workings of the estate's organ, which is a rare treat to see up close. The whole experience is stepping into a carefully preserved world where art, architecture, and history all share the same space. It's all wonderful until a few loud visitors decide the museum is the right place for a group chat and a few "Wow, check this out!" comments that the ushers seem committed to letting breathe. It's a remarkable visit, as long as you're lucky to enjoy it at a reasonable decibel level. There are also the outside grounds, which are free to wander. A ticket is only needed for the home itself. This Dragway has a long history in racing dating back to the early 1960's. It started life known as the Sportsman Park Dragway but that name was changed to Farmington Dragway in the late 1960's. In the 1960's it was running under NHRA sanction but as of 1978 it was sanction by the IHRA. It is a an 1/8th mile track. We began to follow the Dragway on social media and knew the Southeast Gassers event was taking place on both Friday and Saturday in late June. Needless to say we wanted to check it out. We arrived shortly after 1pm and paid the $20 per person at the gate. We were able to find a parking spot fairly easily and made our way towards the track. The cars had already began to qualify and you could hear them speeding down the track, it was cool! There are plenty of options for seating, some people bring pop up tents to stay in the shade, some folks bring their own chairs and there are bleachers on both sides as well. We decided to simply walk around and observe the cars as they got into position and took off from the starting line. We were also able to walk through the area in which the cars line up before racing and get some close up looks at these awesome cars. There are concession stands and restrooms. We were also able to stop by the Southeast Gassers tent and pick up a shirt, sticker and poster. While it was really hot, we did have a good time and plan to keep any eye on their social media page to plan our next trip. We also felt this would be a fun outing for other car enthusiasts or when we have friends or family visit.
