Overall, we were quite happy with our first visit to our local theatre. Keeping in mind that we were there early on a weekday, the only issue we had was a very long delay at the snack bar due to lack of staff, and a pair of customers who were a bit oblivious to the line of people waiting behind them. The poor girl behind the counter needed help, and no one was rushing in to assist. Once in the theatre, we noticed that the chairs, while pretty comfortable, seemed very inconsistent about how much support they provided. Ours just about laid all the way back as soon as we got into them. After the movie, we noted that others provided much better back support. These are fairly small items in what was really a very good experience. read more

I don't have much to say about this place so I'll keep it short and sweet. I usually come here because I try to avoid going into the city. I brought my boys to see the Mario Galaxy movie at AMC. As a member, I had pre-purchased tickets and snacks. Upon arrival, the member line was ignored in favor of the general line. After explaining my situation to a staff member, I finally received my order. Additionally, the bathrooms were unclean and lacked toilet paper, and the service was rude. Today, the popcorn wasn't hot, the butter dispenser was out, the trashcans were full, and two of the three ticket machines were inoperable. At least the floors weren't sticky this time... The two things this place has going for it are convenience and price. $8.50 for a movie sure beats driving into San Antonio and spending $13.00 on the same movie. read more

We like to support local businesses. However, this will be the exception. The last time we came here helped make our decision. Ticket purchase online was easy. The location is great. Service is my reason for my 2 star rating. The popcorn bag was not full, I had to ask them for more, which they did. The drinks were very watered down. We informed them and were told they were too busy to fix. For the cost of concession prices, you think they would be prepared. Walked to our theater, and two staff members were standing in the hallway. "Too busy?" I'm not sure what type of experience they want you to have as paying customers, but the experience we had was not good. I'm not sure we can support this AMC again, which is a shame for people in the area. read more

Movie didn't start until we got up and told management. When it did start the curtain came down so a third of the movie was projected onto the top curtain the entire time even after we told management. The AC worked for some of the movie....Only reason we came here was because of a gift card. Stay clear of this place, would recommend the 20 minute drive to San Antonio for a better theater experience. read more

Kiosk went black during purchase of tickets. We had fo stand in line again to find a working kiosk When trying to purchase food, we got to the front of the slow-moving line and the young man sent us to another cashier. Waited in another slow-moving line and got to the front and the cashier tried sending us to ANOTHER cashier. We refused and he checked us out but we had to ask him again to give us our order. The floors were disgusting, covered in popcorn and sticky liquids. Slip hazard galore. The butter was out. The ice machine was broken on one side. Many of the frozen drinks weren't working and just liquid. It seems young adults are running the place and have zero customer service skills and motivation to keep things in order. Love the location. This theatre seems to always be clean and the employees are helpful. It's right off the highway and easy to get to. The parking lot is really overgrown though. Needs to have some landscaping done. But the place is nice. They have closed during the week for now so check the hours. Right now it's Only Friday-Sunday. read more

This is a great little theater. So many bad reviews I can't figure out why. It works out good for me because who wants the crowded overpriced Palladium? Tonight I saw a great show. I saw kids in pajamas with blankets so I'm guessing a slumber party? Spoke to a guy at the butter station who showed me a trick to get butter throughout popcorn with a straw. We went during a time when they had a discount so it was a lot cheaper. Ordered hot dogs but they said buns were frozen so they offered to refund money. Popcorn was good. The volume was too loud for the 4 year old and they were nice and turned down the volume. We were the only ones in that section. read more

Went to go see light year! Had a AMC gift card and went to the kiosk. Little did we know the kiosk takes your money and doesn't give anything in return! So "fun fact" to know before giving it your money. The manager gave us our tickets and we ordered a popcorn with a drink. She gave us the concessions for FREE, for the inconvenience. Such a great experience and it really made our date night all that much better! Haven't gone to a theater in a long time but can't wait to go back! read more

Absolute horrible experience. Dirty theater #9 Got here early for movie with family, theater was never cleaned, every seating are was littered with trash and food everywhere. Prior to seating no napkins anywhere, manager complained he had vendors hasn't been coming to deliver items and he had to buy his own napkins and the cost of gas, Mgmt not reimbursing him on time. I felt bad for him and his staff, drink machines broken or not working, out of cups and supplies. Overall just horrible. Leadership should step up and participate. Lack of cleaning and Covid still around will keep us from every returning here. read more

I love this theater. It is nice having something local and close by. By no means is the theater a fantastic movie experience for the serious movie goer. I like that it is smaller crowds but still a good experience. The seats are nice and comfy but not recliners like some of the newer theaters. On a related note we were pleasantly surprised by the movie Coco. It is a must see for the family. read more

I went to AMC Boerne 10/13 at 10:15 AM to snag Taylor Swift tin, bucket and cup(s) before my 7:30 PM film. The doors opened at 11:30 AM. I was able to get 3 cups, 3 buckets and 1 tote. I got for myself, cousin, and bf. They ran out of tins before I got to the cashier. Chris was my cashier that morning. He was so patient and helpful despite the chaos that was. I appreciate and applaud how well composed he was. Great customer service! AMAZING film. I had a lot of fun trading friendship bracelets and singing my heart out. Nice theater, usually a bit dirty, good parking, seats are comfortable but a box of popcorn for $10.00, is criminal.

We usually go to The Palladium at The Rim, but decided to try AMC since it is across I10 from our neighborhood. What a big disappointment. We bought our tickets through the AMC App along with food. When we arrived we didn't know how to collect our food, so we got in line. Once we got to the counter, they asked us what was on our order so they could get it for us (very weird). Why even have the option to order on the app? We spent the next 20 minutes getting our hot dogs, pizza and pretzels. The entire complex seems to be in disarray (trash everywhere). When we get to the theater, it doesn't look like it's been cleaned in a few days. Trash was in our cup holders, on the floor, under the seats. I can't understand how the management at this place could think that is acceptable. read more

Update 1/6/19 Going to bump them up a star. Either new management or they have decided to work on the lobby experience. Much more staff of late at the concession stand and the lobby area is MUCH cleaner. Entire theater seems better staffed and more upbeat. First time at this theater even though we drive by it a lot. Positives: Not crowded Plenty of easy parking Very comfortable leather seats Cheaper prices than regal and santikos at least for matinee Negatives: Severely understaffed Very messy Had only one functioning soft drink machine that was out of ice and a number of flavors. The other one was obviously broken and leaked sticky soda all over the floor. No one to take our tickets or even direct us to which theater we were in. Thankfully not too busy Could see this as being a very nice theater if they get the lobby issues squared away. Point blank. I love this theater. The box office is inside so no standing in the hot or wet elements outside. Unless you want to purchase your tickets at the ATM-looking thingy outside - which I like too because it tells you how many seats are available. Yes, the tickets are 7.50; however, go during matinee (showtimes before 6pm) and the tickets are 5.50. And first run too! The employees are extremely courteous and very approachable. I have yet to come across an employee who wasn't. The seats are comfy but if you wanna get close to that special person in your life, forget it. You might not get past the armrests since they are permanently embedded within the chairs. So either hope you or your partner don't have seperation anxiety or if you're in a fight, the extra space may do ya'll some good. The food is fine (c'mon, it's theater food not Ruth Chris). But can you really beat $1 hot dogs? I mean seriously? They even have french fries, chicken nuggets - and all baked not fried. The only thing that's a tiny bit confusing is the menu. They have deals but the signs are all brightly lit and has a lot going on it so you sometimes have to search for prices or meal deals. And for someone with a short attention span such as myself, this isn't a good thing. read more

Went today to see Bullet Train and it was tolerable! What wasn't tolerable is the freezing temperature in the theater! It as so cold we could not even begin to enjoy the movie! I love my air conditioning don't get me wrong but when you have to wear a parka and snow boots to enjoy a movie it is beyond ridiculous! I did ask the concession stand girl to ask to have it turned down, but that never happened as we were popsicles by the time we leftI know I cannot be the only one that was freezing in there today! Just moving from the Kansas City area, I was expecting a lot more from an AMC theater. We had 11 AMC theaters in the KC area and all had very plush recliners and some select theaters were a higher end then the plush recliners. I used to have the AMC movie pass for $20 a month and I would regularly see the 2-3 movies a week. With having only two AMC theaters in the San Antonio area there are not a lot of options. Either drive up north to Boerne or go downtown and pay for parking. The prices are average for AMC, around $5-8 depending on when you go. There are quite a few other theaters around and depending on the price can be better options. read more

This place is awful! I booked a private screening for Sing 2 and I arrive with my party of 20 KIDS and the only Thing they have available in the concession stand is Soda and hot dogs. Manager claims both popcorn machines where down since the day before. WOUlD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE LET BE KNOWN BEFORE ARRIVAL. Hard to believe considering they didn't even have snacks available. I even asked if we could run to the store to pick up snacks so we wouldn't have to let the kids down but they didn't allow us too bring anything in even though they had nothing to offer. We ended up leaving and going to Palladium. Dennis told Us we could request a refund but now I'm calling AMC and they are not offering phone support at the moment. I should have known the moment I drive up bc the parking lot Was awful with overgrown weeds and dead trees it basically looked like an abandoned theater. Such a sad, pitiful theatre. Empty parking lot, empty inside. 5 workers all behind the counter but apparently 1 person could do anything like take care of tickets or buy food/drink. There were about 8 people in line & quite literally only 1 employee out of 5 was functioning. Broken seats in theatre 7. Bathrooms were horrific. For such low foot traffic, you'd think the bathrooms would be better maintained. Upon leaving after the movie was over, I did not see a single employee. This is really out of the way for us but we had some gift certificates to use so we ventured out to Borne since there are very few AMC's in the area. The prices seemed a little lower than in town and the place was fairly clean. We loved the seats too. The only comment I would make is that there was one particular employee that seemed like she did not care AT ALL about life. While this sort of thing doesn't usually bother me and I am all about individuals expressing themselves, this particular individual appeared almost scary. It was one of those time when I was having to give my kids "the look" to not say anything. Not sure if it was just a bad day or an everyday look but if I was managing that day, I would not have put her upfront taking tickets. read more

Excellent place to watch a movie! Clean, fairly new theater with stadium seating and oversized, comfy seats. The ticket and concession prices are reasonable, they had some great deals on movie t-shirts ($5), the customer service is excellent, the ticket sales are indoors and the theater temperature was comfortable. Seems like most movie theaters are overly cold, but the temperature in this one was just right. As an extra bonus, it wasn't very crowded either, even on a Saturday afternoon at the end of summer. I usually only comment on places that are spectacular or abysmal, it's part of my bipolar charm. So stars are all or none. However, today I went to the movies. I hate going to the movies. I'm claustrophobic and I get weird around people. But my husband wanted to see Jurrasic World and my kids love the theater. We went here, I'd bought the tix before hand and after a bit of time figured out the self service check in. Then we went to the concession stand. My family knew what they wanted so they gathered. I stood at the wine bar because by this point I was going numb in my hands and face at the prospect of being in an enclosed space. Sadly I was ignored. The bartender eventually came out and told me he could only serve two glasses of wine to each adult, I said we will take four. We both showed our ids and got the worst service at a theater ever. The ticket guys were really nice though, the two stars are for them. read more

This theater has gone downhill really fast. They just added a serve yourself drink area that doesn't accommodate enough people fast enough. Even ran out of ice last week. My soda tastes like a mixture of several different kinds of soda. Yuck! The area is always just filthy and the kids that work there just stand around and do nothing. Seats broken, nasty old popcorn, dirty serving area, and power outages when it rains. What has happened? This place has only been around a few years to be in such bad operating order. Have even seen standing water on the floor near the screen after a good rain. Management problem?... Fast forward to the present (5/2017). Boerne Starplex now taken over by AMC. Hard to believe it's even worse. Prices increased. No small drinks or popcorn anymore. Drink station added that is constantly filthy, sticky and with a line of people. Still a nice, clean theater with very comfortable recliners to sit in. I'm always just a little surprised at. the people who sit and behave themselves once the movie starts. It was my wife's turn to pick and her choice was Valerian. It's a syfi not a bad movie but not the best we've seen. The popcorn was fresh so we got the large with 2 cups of coke. You get free refills when you buy the large. Not the most romantic night out but it was fun and we had a good time. read more

Having lived in Boerne for over 2 years, you'd think esposa and I would have discovered everything. Wrongo. This multiplex is somewhat hidden and off the beaten path, but beats the hell out of driving into San Antonio. Line? What lines? Price? Yep, a little lower. We grabbed a garbage-can-sized bucket o' popcorn and a keg of Diet Coke to wash it down, then meandered to our theater. The seats were a-w-e-s-o-m-e: wide, supportive, and comfy with tons o' legroom and nice cupholders. Seriously, don't you just hate when you're in a theater and feel like it's that Bugs Bunny cartoon? Us too. We felt like a king and queen in our seats. Screen was large enough for the small theater. Sound system was excellent. Looking forward to returning for future viewings. read more

We took our kids to go see Lightyear and two of the three Kiosk's went down when the person infront of use was using it.. we went to the third one and it was out of receipt tape so I went to go let someone know.. the line for popcorn was backed up to the entrance doors and you could tell all of the people working the registers are burnt out and don't care. I asked for the manager and he was running the "bar" so I stood and waited for him to finish with the customer and when they left I informed him that two kiosks went Down and the third ran out of paper and he looked at me and said "well I can't be everywhere at once!" And rolled his eyes. I looked at him and said "hey I'm just trying to help you out" and he ignored me. I returned to my wife at the kiosk and she said one rebooted and came back up so she tried to use it and it processed her card but froze up.. needless to say.. it took us almost 45 min to get into the movie.. oh.. and you had to SHOVEL ice out of an ice chest for your drinks.. and the popcorn was old and stale.. not going back read more

We've been here multiple times and this is the worst theatre. I get why it's so cheap now.... All of the chairs are broken, all the candy is out of stock, took 30 minutes to get a hot dog and when they were finally ready about 3 workers touched the hot dog with the thermometer and then set it down on the counter. I didn't even want it after that and overheard the manager yelling at the workers in front of everyone. I'd rather drive to the palladium. read more
