While trying to decide on what I wanted to snack on, I noticed that there was a new flavor of popcorn available. I asked about the Mexican Street Corn Gourmet Popcorn. This popcorn option is served in a single or a double size. I decided to try it and ordered a single. I then ordered a large fountain drink. We got the popcorn and were given our cups. The fountain drinks and Icees are self served. There are Coca Cola Freestyle and Icee machines available on both sides of the concession stand. The Mexican Street Corn Gourmet Popcorn was delicious. It was coated in queso and had a hint of jalapeño. The queso did stick to my fingers while eating. Having hand wipes or sanitizer with napkins are helpful to clean fingers until they can be washed. The IMAX auditorium was clean. The seats do not recline but were comfortable. While we were there, we observed a medical emergency. The AMC staff responded quickly and administered aid until Fire Rescue arrived. read more

As someone with back pain, I personally prefer theaters with reclining seats. Its definitely a very clean and safe theater. The employees are really nice and helpful. I just avoid this theater because of the lack of reclining seats. Occasionally we have dinner on this side of town so its convenient but Paying $20 for IMax tickets and seats dont recline? Grrrr. Lol. Today we were on this side of town and the family wanted to watch the world cup game so we stopped her. Its cool that the games are an option. read more

I specifically can do this AMC location to try out their IMAX theater! I didn't know what to expect since I've never been to an IMAX screening of a movie before. The theater itself was great. I went during the afternoon and the parking seemed fine. It's located near a mall but didn't seem to be an issue. IMAX theater had what AMC calls "Rocker Chairs" which are bigger than normal theater seats but they do not recline. I think their Dolby theater has recliners seats. I went to view Project Hail Mary in IMax and the sound level really shocked me at first with the overwhelming strength of it. I cannot recall the last time I did IMax. I ran over right after work and needed something in my belly so I went with the chicken tenders (5 for $12) and they were pretty danged good. Crispy, good sized pieces which took away my hunger. I also got a regular sized fountain drink ($8) and started with the ginger ale but threw it out for the Gold Peak tea, mixing the sweet and unsweetened to get the perfect level. I couldn't drink a lot because my bladder needed to last the movie but I wound up needing to do a potty run. This theater is pretty good with a good amount of parking to accommodate users and enough screens for several to view. They have the concession stand plus a small bar area if you want something a bit more adult to drink down. read more

I typically go to this theater when I want to catch a movie in a calm setting. The show prices are good and they have a bar! I waited a while to order a drink because they seemed a bit short staffed but that wasn't an issue. The drink selections were a bit pricey for what's offered but that's to be expected at the movies. They had enough staff to take orders but the staff would not say "next" they would just stand there. Their drink machine and icee machine are self serve so people were using water cups to fill up their cups with soda and icee after I paid full price. We love this place! I first came to this theater on a sneak peek for a movie, not too long ago. I walked in and was surprised by how many options they had for food and drinks. They even had a bar inside. I ordered some nachos and headed to the theater. The nachos were fresh, and the cheese was warm, they even provided jalapeños on the side. As I walked into the theater, I immediately recognized how clean it was. I've been to theaters in the past, that were somewhat dirty because it's difficult to upkeep in between shows, but this definitely was not the case. The staff was kind and friendly. They were quick to get us inside and the theater had overall really good energy. We have been back several times since & look forward to continuing to support this business. read more

The sad thing about this review is that I don't enjoy leaving negative reviews. But after today, I felt obligated to share my experience. Firstly, I'm here a lot as I often get out of the house to go see movies because it helps my anxiety. Call me old-school if you want, but I can remember a time when people filled movie seats and now it just feels like a dying trend. Production studios don't earn a cent until weeks after a movie is released, so the only way movie theaters like this continue to stay in business is the overpriced concession stands. I am an AMC A-List member, which means I pay a monthly fee to see as many movies as I want, when I want and in any format. Coming in today, my friend was late to pick me up and since I don't have a car myself, I ordered my large drink, large popcorn and candy combo ahead of time. Craving an ICEE instead of a soda, I filled my large cup with a yummy frozen drink instead of a soft beverage. When browsing the front counter for a water cup, the manager gave me a lecture on filling my cup with ICEE instead of a soft drink. Explaining that I should've gotten an ICEE with a dome lid and how it screws up her inventory. As often I visit this movie theater and considering how much I spent on my combo on top of my monthly subscription, I will continue to fill my large drink with whatever I feel like. I've been doing it for years and really don't care about their limited inventory. As a former restaurant manager, I couldn't believe that I was getting a lecture about inventory from a concession stand manager. It honestly ruined my experience and it ruined the movie as I couldn't stop thinking about her attitude. And considering we were the only ones there on a slow Monday afternoon, I genuinely think they need the business more than they need to be giving valuable customers opinions about what I put into my large cup when I already paid more for the drink in my hand to begin with. I filled it with water for the second movie and took some iced tea when I left just out of funny protest. But the next time I ask for a free water cup, I will contact corporate if she ever rolls her eyes at me again. For a movie theater with sticky floors, brown seats and popcorn on floors that doesn't get cleaned up, I didn't appreciate this particular manager's comments at all... On a more positive note, the pepperoni pizza, even though overpriced as with everything else, was very good. But I don't recommend the chicken tenders... And if I ever see her again, I will be contacting AMC support for a full refund... It's not about the manager who's name I can't remember as the interaction kind of ruined the first flick for me..it's about the principle of the whole thing... read more

I haven't been to the movies in multiple years. It's all different now. They have recliners which was super comfy. The seats are very close together. When my son had to use the bathroom, it was a hassle to get out with everybody reclining and some people not adjusting. That was interesting. The concessions are expensive but for a group of us sharing popcorn, it was a good option. We were able to get refills and the drink machine allowed us to get whatver drink we wanted. While this is not my usual theater (I usually go to Pointe Orlando), I really appreciate that this theater has an IMAX, free parking, and is in the same plaza as the mall. So, I can go catch a movie, shop, and eat all in one area. I decided to visit this theater because I wanted to rewatch the movie Sinners again but in IMAX. I didn't want to pay for the prices at Pointe Orlando nor did I want to have to catch a late showing. So, naturally, AMC Altamonte Mall 18 had a time that worked well with my schedule and I didn't have to deal with the I-Drive hustle and bustle at Pointe Orlando. Overall, the theater is fine. It is an older one so it doesn't have all the fancy powered seats like some of the newer or recently upgraded theaters have. However, price points tend to be a bit cheaper at the older theaters too, so, that's always a perk. It was not too busy, so the lines moved quickly. The staff were kind. The bathrooms were clean. The seats' cup holders could have been cleaned better but hey, it was mid-day so I wasn't expecting a spotless theater. To be expected, the seats didn't recline, but they were comfortable enough. The theater also wasn't super freezing--like some tend to get. The movie, of course, was phenomenal. I'll probably be going to see it once more, to be honest. Ultimately, it was a good experience. I don't have a ton of complaints about this theater outside of not having powered reclining seats. Otherwise, it's a good theater. read more

Ive had it with this place! For years Ive put up with high prices, dirty theatures, long lines, slow employees...tonight we droped the kids off at 7pm to watch a PG13 movie after buying the tickets on Fandango. The kids came running back to the car because the 16 year old (probably) told my kids that there was an 8pm curfew and they had to be acompanied by a parent... if I had known, we could have easily gone somewhere else. Now the night is ruined, we, the parents, couldnt just leave them outside of the mall for 2 hours, so we brought them back home which made us too late to do what we had plans. There is only 1 night a week that we can go out and do things...i guess we will try again next week...you people suck! read more

I would consider this theater to be vintage as it's been around forever. I remember coming here as a kid to Spice World with a South Park the movie trailer running before it. That being said there is some wear and tear on old rusty the theater these days but AMC is still hanging in there! Massive amounts of parking as the mall parking garage is right next to it. Concessions are at up great so you can out your own butter on your popcorn and fill up your own drink. Love that. Seats need some work lol read more

I live 2 minutes from this movie theater so it is clean, convenient, and reliable to see any of the new movies that I want to go see in the theaters. Unfortunately they do not have reclining seats in all their theaters as most Regal Movie Theaters do these days so it feels like I am paying the same price for a less enjoyable experience at AMC when I can see the same movie and pay the same price at Regal, but watch in a reclining seats. I will certainly continue to go to this theater as it is clean and it always has plenty of available showings of whatever movie I'm trying to watch but mainly it's because it is closest to my home. If you go and watch in the Dolby theater they have, it's a REALLY good experience. I would certainly recommend that, but it will cost you extra money. read more

This AMC needs some work. The IMAX theater is fairly nice with leather chairs and a huge screen, awesome sound. The other theaters are a bit outdated with dingy seats. The West Oaks Mall AMC theater has newly renovated theater seats with power reclining despite being in a dilapidated struggling shopping mall. This AMC is like the complete opposite despite the better location. I only come here because it's a lot closer to where I live. read more

Every month or so I go to early movie screenings and the screenings are held here at this theater. The theater is nice , clean and the bar is usually pretty solid. I never get to eat because the line is usually super long so I usually just grab a drink and wait for the screening to start. The decor is cute and the customer service is always nice. I will say I love going to the movies or even to movie screening at this location. It's really a special place that lets your imagination sparkle. I will definitely try and always go by this location because customer service is always the nicest. They had some nice chorros filled with Nutella. I would recommend that and the curly fries, of course. Their decor is still 90's type themed throughout the establishment. It makes it feel like you're walking into a special like a secret hideout. If you have not been to this location, come check it out solo or with the whole family. You will not be disappointed at all. read more

Believe it or not there are still movie theaters at malls, a mall that still has great traffic and a theater that has great attendance and late showings! Welcome to AMC Altamonte Mall 18! It's all true...there is a thriving local theater; Disney Springs AMC is an anomaly because there is so much built in traffic that it's not a fair comparison. That being said, AMC Altamonte is a refreshing breath of air giving us hope that traditional movies may not all by dying. My only quasi-complaint is the lack of comfy recliners. If you want a recliner then you're going to Dolby however those reclines lot and I tend to fall asleep because of that lmao. I usually go to late showings and there is a decent crowd of people and gives you pleasure of a good group laugh or gasp at the peaks of the movie. That's what makes the "live at the movies" experience what it is....human interaction and enjoyment. The concession stand is good and usually well staffed for the late/last showings. The prices are what they are and you can't blame them locally. Popcorn is usually on point but this visit was a bit salty...hey it happens; not the end of the world. Overall this is a great theater that's well kept and even though we don't have giant recliners and dine in theaters it's still one of my local favorites. read more

Dirty sticky cup holders dirty stained seats. I guess they do not clean between showings. I will under no circumstances come to this pig stye ever again. my skin will probably crawl for years to come. I need a memory scrub to forget this experience. This movie theater really needs to update their seating within their theaters. There is only one theater that has reclining chairs. All the others have hard velvet seats the bend backwards slightly. Yes there is stadium seating but the actual chairs are not cutting KT. The prices of the popcorn, drinks, and food is high dollar so they should be able to afford an upgrade to their seating. This is not my theater of choice. I like to be comfortable while watching movies and there are other theaters that are not only cheaper but all their theaters have reclining chairs.
