Before I move on, I don't want to short change that thought -- the pictures really are perfect! However, I want to spend most of my time here talking about the photographers Lauren and Jamie, who went beyond my expectations.  Along with the wonderful pictures they took, they were easy to work with beforehand, and they were calm, patient, understanding, and flexible during the event.  They handled my bride and I well, even in situations where we were nervous but game.  (Picture two introverts having wedding pictures taken of them in several locations on a Spring-Break-afternoon-crowded San Antonio Riverwalk... Somehow Lauren and Jamie kept us calm -- well...relaxed, at least ;-) -- and laughing, which resulted in some of our favorite pictures.)  They dealt smoothly and joyously with the numerous guests who always try to jump in to take their own pictures while professional photographers are taking the formal pictures; in every one of these situations, Lauren and Jamie asked the guests to wait momentarily, completed the formal pictures, and then welcomed in the guests before resetting the subjects for the next picture, even offering suggestions for locations and angles from which the non-professionals could take an even better picture than they were trying to take.   The pictures alone make Lauren Reynolds Photography a five-star place to me, but Lauren and Jamie were just outstanding.  As I said, I would recommend them to anyone.

When we were scouting it out she helped me think through the best place to propose not only for photography purposes, but also for timing. I modified my original plan based on this and am really glad I did. She definitely knows what she's doing here. On the evening of the proposal she joined me about 45 minutes before my girlfriend was scheduled to arrive so we could make sure everything was setup in plenty of time. It was a surprise (obviously), so I was super nervous. Having Lauren's calm and knowledgeable presence had a huge calming effect on me. She took of few candid shots of me waiting and preparing, which I really appreciate. When my girlfriend was scheduled to arrive, Lauren was very discrete and took lots of candid shots. After we had enjoyed some time celebrating with champagne and making a few phone calls to family, we spent a little time taking some posed shots. The photos turned out great and are something I know we'll always treasure. I'm so glad I was able to use work with Lauren to capture such a special moment.

Pulling off a wedding is a full time job in itself. I wasn't sure where to start. We had a date and…read morea location so I started looking for a photographer. This is a big day right?! I wanted to make sure that I had photos that would capture the essence of the day not only for my memories but for our future generations to come. So... I started googling and there were a lot of great photographers out there each with their own style. Kristi's photos spoke to me. My husband lived in Marfa for a few years while we dated long distance. We have such fond memories of West Texas and that's really where our love grew. I was amazed at Kristi's ability to capture the uniqueness that is Marfa so I reached out and lucky for us she was available for our date! I felt at ease with her immediately. She's super to work with, very responsive, and her prices were comparable with other photographers I'd contacted. I knew that Kristi was the right photographer for me when she replied to an email pointing out the sunset time of our wedding day (a year away) and suggesting that we move it up 30 minutes to make sure we captured some shots downtown while the lighting was still optimal. I had actually already checked the sunset time and I appreciated that attention to detail but I didn't even think about being downtown and how the sunlit reflects through the streets. We took her advice and moved up the ceremony and truth be told our downtown shots are my absolute favorites. We are big music fans and we have great shots outside of Moody that I love. My hubby is not one that likes a lot of attention placed on him (opposites do attract, I'm a ham) but Kristi's style is so easy going and natural that not only was he able to relax but he actually enjoyed taking all of the different shots during the day. Thru Kristi's recommendations we booked our officiant and a "day of" wedding planner (venue required). We wanted a different kind of wedding than your traditional, run of the mill wedding and Kristi gave us smart advice on little things we could do to make it extra unique and special to us. One of the things she suggested after talking with me was that we got ready, together, just the two of us at our house. It was perfect for us - not rushed, we were relaxed and listening to music, drinking champagne... We're coming up on our 2nd anniversary and we still comment to each other how thankful we are that we got ready together, alone, in our own house. It really set the tone for the rest of the evening and I would have never thought of it had Kristi not mentioned it. I really felt like she took the time to get to know us and our desires ahead of time. She was so much more than "just" a wedding photographer to us. And of course, the day comes and goes in a whirlwind but Kristi was super prompt getting us shots back so we could live it all again. It's a big day; a wedding is a huge investment of time, money, and effort. Best advice I could give to a future bride is find someone that you connect with, that will give you the time you deserve, listen to how you want the day to go. You'll know when you feel the connection. For us Kristi was just phenomenal!

Katie and I were both elite yelpers at one time... in fact, we met at an elite yelp event and we were immediately fast friends. Fast forward to last year and her wedding... during the pre-wedding photo session, the photographer and I hit it off (not like that, perv... I was there with my girlfriend and the photographer is happily married). She was just really awesome... confident and decisive but playful and unobtrusive... she made the photographs fun. And I don't usually like wedding photographers because they usually remind me of former Russian military or crazy hoarder cat-lady... expressing their pent-up need to control others though their 2 hours of power... But I digress... Kristi is amazing, she actually made the wedding MORE fun and the times we were out in the heat (yes, my friend opted for a summer wedding in Austin) enjoyable. In the end, Katie ended-up with amazing photographs (turns out people look better and take better photos when they are happy and having fun) and I ended-up with another friend. I've been best man in two weddings, a groomsman in at least 15, and an user in probably 10 over the years... including Katie's wedding last year. It's no contest, Kristi is the best wedding photographer I've ever seen. So if you're interviewing photographers, put Kristi in the mix. And if you need references, I'll gladly put you in touch with Katie.

None the less, Julie agreed to photograph my wedding for set hours. I received timely emails regarding payments, questionnaires regarding the wedding, and timelines. I loved her organization. Jennifer was responsive, fun to work with, kind and took beautiful photos. Plus, her pricing was extremely fair and she provided a HUGE selection of edited images. My mom has a detailed list of all the photos she wanted taken day-of and Jennifer got them all! She seriously didn't miss a shot. Jennifer did so many sweet "extras" that she totally didn't have to do but did. For instance, mom was having a hard time getting a print shop to print one of my bridal photos in the correct size to have displayed at the venue. Jennifer said "let me handle it" and a few days later mom has a gorgeous print on her front door. Also, she treated me, my mom and our friend to drinks after our bridal shoot. Words cannot describe how incredible of a wedding photographer Tiffany was for us!! The moment we…read moremet Tiffany we knew what an incredible photographer she was, but we couldn't have imagined how special she would make our big day. Tiffany took our engagement photos, bridal portraits, and the day of. For our engagement photos, she made us feel comfortable, and my wife and I were able to relax and enjoy ourselves as we got photos all over Austin! Not only does she know great locations, she helps you feel comfortable on camera. Every photo we got was next level, and that wouldn't have been possible without her guidance. Our bridal portraits were tricky because both my wife and I wore dresses, and although we shot our portraits at the same time and in the same location, we didn't want to see eachother dresses until our wedding day. Tiffany helped to make this process flawless, and help us maneuver around each other, all while making each of us look absolutely stunning in every shot she got. Nothing can compare though to her attention to detail and incredible work she did day of our wedding. She provided not only herself but her team as well, having another photographer to be there. In addition, she helped to recommend our videographer, who caught all the moments live for us! We never at any point felt stressed, or that we weren't going to get the shots we asked for. She also made sure to have suggestions of her own, photos which we wouldn't have thought of and will treasure those moments forever now. During the reception, she and her team were able to be everywhere at once, and captured incredible photos all night! The light at our venue was a darker lighting, and each photo she has given us just looks full of life, and captures the day perfectly. It is amazing how much she can capture personalities so well. Nothing we have looked at looks stiff, but instead as though you are back in that moment again! Getting the completed gallery back from her was our superbowl, it was so exciting reliving our day again. I would highly recommend Tiffany to anyone, and know she will do an incredible job. She helped to make our wedding the best day of our lives, and we know we will be using her from here on out for whatever we need!
