my husband and i live on two acres of heavily treed, hilly land with large rocks; and we love the terrain. we wanted to find someone to help us care for the health of the trees. sometimes that means removing damaged or diseased trees so others can thrive. removing trees over 60 feet tall in close proximity to one another, and to our home required professionals with the right training, equipment, care, and professionalism. we found amber tree care through google, and we simply could not be more satisfied with the work they did--they met each of these requirements. 1. assessment: they walked our property with us and as they evaluated things they walked us through why they were suggesting certain things and what to look for in the future. together we agreed on a path forward and a budget. 2. partnering: the crew of up to 6 we're incredibly professional. each one knew their job and worked in synchronization to tie off, trim, fell, and remove the required trees without damage to any surrounding foliage. they understood that we love the land here and treated it as if they owned it--taking care in everything they did. 3. professionalism: they came when they said they would, accomplished what they promised and were clean and neat in their work, leaving things more beautiful than they found them. the climbers were safe and incredibly well trained. 4. budget: there were no snags, no hidden fees. just honest straight-forward terms. The team from amber clearly loves what they do, respect each other, and respect the dangers involved in their trade. What an absolute pleasure!!! I asked a local "mom" group for recommendations for a local tree service (I am new to the area). Stuart came highly recommended and now I know why. I had a dead tree wrapped around my power lines, a badly damaged tree hanging dangerously over my neighbors garage, and a magnolia that had been ignored for too long. Stuart came out to meet me shortly after I called him. He walked my property with me and advised me on my concerns as well as advising me on the best and most cost effective approach to take. He showed up when scheduled and quickly took care of the job. He must've made 30 laps around that magnolia pruning it meticulously. It was a real pleasure to watch. When Stuart first came to check out the property he spent almost an hour with me and my wife explaining the types of trees we had and what each one does for the environment and how they affect wildlife. I wanted to update my experience with Amber Tree Care. First off, let me say, I have a LOT of trees over 5 acres of land. They made sure that all of my trees were at least reviewed and even taught me how to keep my orchard trees healthy. The entire initial experience was very positive. They came and did all the work quickly and accurately. Once finished, you'd never know they had been there. Every stick and leaf had been cleaned and removed. About a month later one of the trees they hadn't worked on fell over in the yard. I called them and within half an hour he had a crew out to inspect the tree and remove it. They even cut the tree to lengths for my fireplace. They found that the tree from the outside had no signs of damage but the inside was nearly hollow. It had grown over a section of rock wall and had incorporated the rock wall, leaving it unstable. Just as before, when they left, I wouldn't have guessed there was a tree in that spot just a few hours earlier. read more

I hired Stuart at Amber Tree Care in June, 2016. After a cursory walk around my property, Stuart identified 3 trees which appeared to be healthy, but which he recommended needed to be taken down. I was reluctant at first, but trusted Stuart's expertise. Once he cut them down, he showed me that they were completely rotted inside and would have fallen within a year. I was amazed. Stuart's prices are very reasonable and I didn't feel like I was being taken advantage of like some other companies I had provide me with quotes. One of the things I like best about working with Stuart is his respect of nature. He doesn't go in and hack up a tree. With his knowledge, he takes the time to make the tree healthy and aesthetically pleasing. He's also willing to listen and give you suggestions about how to attain the desired look you are trying to achieve. My wife and I recently moved up from the boroughs to Putnam County. We knew nothing about the trees and woodsy area surrounding us. I can't recommend Amber Tree Care highly enough. Having moved to a forest lot we had a fair amount of dead/dying trees that needed removal so met with several companies. Stuart and Malory made a huge impression on us with their passion for trees and knowledge of work. So Amber Tree came out for a week to work with numerous complicated removals and some trimming. The team was extremely professional. Every care was taken. Even little details like after they used the hose, they would coil it back up. I've had plenty of contractors not even do basic considerations such as that. They did a spectacular job. A few months later, they came back for a day to trim a huge old tree that needed love.
