The tots weren't as crispy as I hoped, but the flavors were there. 8/10 Beef pasty. It was good, and eating it with cholula hot sauce was a nice touch. It would be nice if they had some kind of a cream sauce on the side to go with it. 9/10 The shop side has a ton of snacks, treats, and even produce to choose from. It's nice they even have a section to sample their homemade salsas and schmears. Would definitely come back for other treats if I'm in the area or passing by.

We couldn't decide on a pie, so we got 6 slices because we wanted to try a variety of flavors. Lunch filled us so much that we took the pie pieces to go. They were all delicious. My favorite was a tie between the cherry cobbler and banana cream. We also ended up shopping for snacks. Every purchased was very good. We will definitely stop here again on our way to north Tahoe.

The lady who works here is super friendly, charming, and sweet. I think she is about 93 years old. So awesome! The ranch is clean and organized and prices were good. Will have to check back for more mandarins, kiwis and persimmons. Highly recommended.

You can find products from other local farms, like honey or Newcastle Mandarin Ranch sauces. You can pay by credit card. Even though it was end of season, the mandarins are just the way I like them - the best variety (in my opinion) - easy to peel, seedless, juicy. So glad I have something like this nearby!

We didn't stay very long but walked around about a quarter mile and bought a whole bag filled with Mandarin, blood oranges, and Cara Cara oranges - $1.90/ lb. The little store also has marmalade, honey and other already picked citrus like the grapefruits and Meyer lemons - these are off limits to visitors due to the BIG thorns. My partner loves their BYO sandwiches for lunch, and while I haven't tried them, they look delicious. When I'm hungry I go for the outstanding avocado toast. Everything is locally sourced and the balsamic/olive oil they dress the arugula with adds a flavor bomb that I can't get enough of! However, I tried to go up the aisles to see if I could find something I couldn't find anywhere else. All their items are unique from the beer and ciders they carry down to the frozen foods. You feel as if you've been transported into the 1940s where life was simpler and what was grown on the farm provided food for your family, neighbors and friends. Old buildings, packing sheds and farm vehicles gives you a piece of old Americana that is slowly disappearing today. The vintage atmosphere and the beautiful hills surrounding you gives you a sense of calm and a feeling of what a farm was like back in the day. You cannot make this stuff up. This is the way it was and still is today. The history behind this place is amazing! Four generations have kept this 30-acre fruit farm alive. Even after the Great Depression and Internment camps, they rolled up their sleeves and kept farming. Much of the rootstock was brought from Japan. There are some trees that date back possibly 150 years. This farm is the real deal! The Mandarins are sweet and juicy. They have several varieties, including Zishan, Okitsu Wase, Page, Unshiu, and the most popular, Owari Satsuma. You can sample them to see which ones you like the best. The family is very picky about the quality of fruit that they sell. They pick fruit daily and everything in the fruit stand has been freshly-picked either that day or the day before. Prices are reasonable, and even lower prices for seconds, which are still great. And it's self-service; can you believe it! The "Honor System". Wow!
