In the sense they tend to add a dash of curry sauce or curry flavoring in their fillings for both meat and vegetables that give it a unique taste that I have only seen served in Nepal. I hear their Thalis are excellent, so I hope to be back to try that out. 22 euros for this meal in the picture meanwhile. A but on the expensive side but Nepali restaurants are a rarity...

Nepal Haus was an amazing find in Munich. It seems to be run by one dude. I don't know if he cooks…read moreas well. Hopefully, he has a cook in the back. This place looks pretty authentic. Also most Nepalese can speak English, and the dude could speak English quite well, even though he said he hasn't practiced in many years. The place is small. They have maybe a few tables inside and outside. Luckily, it wasn't that busy when we came. I would advise sitting outside. It was super-hot inside. They have a big menu. Everything looked good. I tried their momo or dumplings. It was like your traditional Chinese dumplings, but the fillings had more of an Indian flavor. Nepal uses a lot of spices similar to India. I loved the flavors. It was so different, yet familiar to me. Their Veggie Dal Bhat is your basic vegetarian platter with Dal (lentil soup), potatoes, chickpeas, and other veggie goodness. They all had great flavor from the many spices they used. They also have a bunch of fried noodle dishes, so I tried one. It came with chili sauce, that reminded me of sambal oelek. The noodle were cooked well, and I liked the flavor. The staff was friendly and helpful. I liked the food. It's a great place to check out if you're near the Ostbahnhof (munich east station) and want to take a break from all the heavy, Bavarian foods.

It did not have potato sabji inside which is normally the case for authentic Masala dosa. It had a mixture of carrot, broccoli and cottage cheese, a filling I never had in my life. It also tasted bad. The only reason why I giving the place a 3 star is its dosa. Really bad. But pondicherry thali and chicken 65 is a must tr

I gave myself a good talking to before giving this place three stars. As a born and bred South…read moreIndian when I walk into a South Indian restaurant, I am very critical as, if they cannot do it better than me then, it's not worth it. I had this stuff three times a day for 20 some odd years and, also learnt to cook it from my mom ;-)) As I suspected, I can do this heaps better myself but, for Munich, it is pretty good, hence the three stars. It really is 2.5 stars for me. The menu has a handful of South Indian dishes in it but it's not a South Indian menu. The main thing I wanted to try here was dosa. Unfortunately for me it lacked flavour and seasoning. The dosa itself had good texture and done well however, the taste let it down. The coconut chutney that came with it was made from powdered coconut and it was ordinary at best. The South Indian mixed vorspeise was a bit disappointing and lacked flavour. It's suited to the German palette and not an Indian one. Service was very friendly and the guy who welcomed us was very nice. The place is big with lots of outdoor seating and a nice way to spend an evening. I may go back here again but it's too far from home and I would have to really think hard before I do. I did not have high expectations when we decided to go here and my expectations were met. An ok place for South Indian food in Munich. Not really authentic but it will do. As a lover of South Indian food I will have to keep looking for a place where I can have this food made the way I like it ;-))
