This was my second time going there, the first time was good. That was about five months ago…read more Second time I went was two weeks ago, and I can't even give this place even one star as far as customer service and quality of their products. Might be because they're moving and selling their farm, that they don't give a crap right now but I spent $60 dollars there and got totally ripped off and would never go there again while these owners are still there. I'm just telling you guys this so that you don't get ripped off too. I bought wheat grass that was limp to begin with. It cost $20 for the tray. I told them I would take the wheat grass without the tray and could they do it for 15. She said yes and we put it in a bag. I took it right home, put it back on a tray and within one day it was smelling rotten. It was turning yellow and I had to throw it out. I sent her pictures. I told her and she told me it was because I took it off the tray to begin with and bought it without the tray, so why did she still sell it to me that way if that was true? Then I bought an aloe plant from them for $15. The plants were all cramped inside a pot and had root rot. I was gonna try to save a few of the aloe babies, but when I got home and started to remove the dead plant leaves, I realized that the whole plant was a big mess and I never should've bought it from them. I grow fresh herbs myself, but I did not have any mint at the time, so I purchased a mint plant. When I brought it home I took a picture of it and asked Google lens what it was since it had a really weird smell not like usual mint does and it told me that it was from the mint family but that it had a fungus, which is why it smelled really weird too, so I threw that out as well. That was another five dollars down the drain. I did buy eggs from Tracy, but I'm going to throw those out too because I just don't trust this lady on any level now because she did not respond to me as a professional who owns a business and who gives a crap about her customers. Again, I texted her the pictures and told her what happened and not one time did she apologize or offer to replace the items or credit me, she basically gaslit me by saying it was my fault for not purchasing the wheatgrass without their tray, ( which I would have had to return it out deposit on) Not one time did she apologize or offer to make this sale right or offer any understanding for my dissatisfaction. She's totally unprofessional and doesn't give a crap! Guess it's all about money to her. I just hope the poor cats and animals that are there get a really good owner after she's moved to Mt Dora. Hopefully someone that's compassionate and gives a crap about people as well as animals. This is the worst customer service I think I've ever had in a really long time and that means in person or online. Very disappointed.

Tickets are required, but you get plenty in return, live music, food trucks, and a selection of art to browse and buy. I enjoyed some drinks, tasty bites from the trucks, and even picked up a few goodies to take home. It's a great way to spend an afternoon, especially if you're looking for something new to do. Very kid-friendly, too. One thing to note: parking in Mount Dora on a weekend with an event can be a challenge. Plan ahead or arrive early, we ended up parking pretty far from the event, which was the only downside of the day. Still, we had a good time and got to explore more of Mount Dora in the process.

The Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival is an annual Memorial Day Weekend tradition. The festival is held…read morein Zellwood at the fairgrounds on Ponkan Rd. There is a small, pathetic midway. The rides are rusty and dated and I watched a worker nod off while the kids were paddling these little boats. Luckily the ride wasn't mechanical but it didn't give me much faith in the other ride operators. There are some overpriced games but the workers don't even bother trying to entice you to play. Along the back side of the grounds are tents set up for vendors selling homemade crafts, arts, food items as well as junky trinkets, jewelry, clothes, toys and other similar items. One such notable item was a guitar made out of a stick and a beer can. No, seriously, a stick and a beer can! A guy right out of O Brother Where Art Thou had one hooked up to an amp! The festival books musical acts, mostly older country groups. One nice thing is that if you are into Christian music the local Christian station, Z88.3, has one day just for them and their music. They have brought in some decent National acts to the festival. No beer is sold on Z88.3 day so that may be a better time to bring out the kids. I heard from a cop friend that on the other days when beer is sold things can get rowdy by the day end. Sweltering Heat + Rednecks + Lots O' Beer = Good Times! There are a lot of Apopka's finest out here so it is fun people watching! You think you've seen camo? Come to the corn festival! That's if you're lucky, the heat is so intense there are a lot of shirtless folks, and let's just say they probably shouldn't be. Tips: bring a chair if you plan on staying for the music. Get there early so you can get a spot under one of the oak trees, those spots go fast! Bring an umbrella for shade and watch the skies, rain and thunderstorms are likely. It is going to be hot so dress accordingly. If you have one of those fan misters, bring it! Wear sneakers; the grounds are grass and dirt, unless you want 7-11 feet and toes! Really though the ONLY reason to come out to the corn festival is for the all-you-can-eat corn. It is quite the spectacle watching them boil the ears in Big Bertha- the monster propane corn cooker. It takes several burly dudes to hoist the corn up and out of the monster machine. Steam rolling out and lots of cheering, hollering, and bell ringing! They then dip the steaming hot sweet corn in butter and lay it out for the streams of people coming through to get their fill. This is the best corn you can get, straight from Long and Scott Farm in Zellwood, the original sweet corn. The farm supplies the festival first before selling to the public. You can buy a few dozen ears to go as you leave the gates. Summer can start now that the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival is here!
