Unfortunately, it was not a match made in heaven…read more Three co-workers/friends and I all wanted to get hair removal done on various parts of our bodies. Two of my co workers wanted to get their chins done, one friend wanted to get her brazilian done and I wanted my forearms arms done. After doing a bunch of collective research, we came up with A2Z laser/Laser and Organic Spa. It seemed like a good, decent place, and had seemingly great reviews. We all called for our appointments. Because we have different schedules, we were unable to go together to our appointments together - which was something we had wanted to do, but you really can't help scheduling differences. I have some experience with getting lasered (good bye hairy legs!), Angela was super nice and sweet explaining the process. She was using a different machine than I had used on my legs - the Soprano. Instead of the laser, which blows cool air and actually zaps the little hairs, this was more of a rolling laser, and used a cooling gel... kind of felt like I was going for a sonogram, but on my arms. Now you're probably wondering why the low rating despite the fact that Angela was super nice, the location was nice and clean, and Angela was very well organized. The machine. It didn't work. I went for my six appointments, and throughout the six appointments, there was no zapping (which feels a little satisfying, die little hairs, die!), there was no pinch, nothing. Mostly just pressure and occasionally it got really hot. Once. Once did I feel the pinch. Angela and her technician both said the machine was turned all the way up to the highest setting. Even Angela was surprised it didn't work on my arms. I know what you're thinking, maybe my hair is too light. Maybe my skin too light. However, this machine is supposed to work on all skin and hair types. Which is what the sign in her waiting room advertises. Which brings me back to my friends/co -workers. All three of them are naturally brunettes. Dark brunettes. The one who got her brazilian done, while I haven't personally looked for myself, her swears there's more hair. My two co-workers who got their chins done? I have looked for myself, it's pretty much the same as when they started. They are disappointed, because instead of plucking, they now have to shave, and are both very self conscience about it. Understandably so. My arms look pretty much the same as when I started. My conclusion is this, the Soprano machine advertises itself as a almost painless machine. While I will agree that it was virtually painless, I feel like we traded the painless method for a machine that was sub par and did not do it's job. I'd rather stick to alexandrite lasers from now on. While you do feel the laser and it occasionally smells like burnt hair (okay, it really smells like burnt hair) at the end of the day, those little hairs are like a dead parrot, gone from this world.

Then i found Milady on the Internet- via yelp (thank you!) and saw that they were celebrating spa week. 60 minute massage and glow-and-go facial for $50. Yeah.... I quickly made the appointment for 430 the next day- Saturday. I planned my day accordingly allowing time for parking, and found a spot quickly. And thats when it happened. BAM. Sam took out the front end of a taxi. Honestly its a hilarious story i should tell it but ill stay on topic. At 455 i was done with that and Milady was calling. I apologized and explained my situation and she quickly told me to come on it. They had room. I had a hard time finding it because theres no sign...they are in a salon, in the basement. I was weary at first but quickly saw that it was very new and clean and peaceful. Small too. I was alone. This is nice! The massage was more a back rub but was fine with me at the price. The facial was amazing, but i learned the hard way my skin is way too sensitive for the oils. My only complaint is that the salon above is noisy so its hard to be too relaxed. At $50 id do it all over again. They were very nice Russian women and I didnt even feel weird being naked. Dont tell my boyfriend, hell get pissed.

Yesterday, I had my lips done, and to be completely honest, I have a very difficult case. Not only do I have noticeable natural asymmetry in my lips, but I'm also extremely sensitive. On top of that, I had fibrosis from a previous, not-so-great experience with another "doctor." I've been to many places, and some injectors didn't even want to take me as a client. I finally decided to see Hanna (a PA and an experienced injector) after seeing her work on Instagram. Pros: 1.Zero waiting time! For me, this is very important--they really value my time. 2.Hanna and all the staff were very kind, especially considering how nervous I was. 3. Place itself beautiful and clean. 4. Hanna explained everything in great detail, step by step, taking into account my asymmetry and my fears. 5. All of the fillers were opened in front of me. 6. There is a medical provider on-site (a doctor in the office). 6.The RESULT! I can't explain how happy I feel. I feel confident again! My lips are so cute, proportional to my face, and most importantly--not overdone! No "duck lips"--just jucie, luscious lips!
