I would go there around 5pm when it was their dinner time. Feed her, try to talk to her and spend one on one time with her.She had Alzheimer's disease. I believe they have 4 different buildings and plenty of parking spaces along with clean restrooms. This facility was established back in 1912 and still serves their patients, families of the patients with pride, dignity, and kindness. They have over 6,000 seniors every year entering this facility. They even have a nice garden. They provide care for home, in their community and on premises/campuses. Nurses and other staff members are very sweet, kind, caring, professional and HELPFUL!! They don't just treat you as a number; but as a human. Recently few days ago I willingly wanted to go see one of my friend's mom who is in this care center. She has dementia. I told her that I would be going there and she met me there. Place is spotless clean, they come and change the bed sheets pretty frequently, take you for a walk, help you to take your medications, and do their best for everyone to feel welcomed, safe and a good place to be at! Yes they finally brought him back but the experience in jail caused a huge decline in his physical being. He declined pretty fast from then. The weekend when it seemed he would not make it the nurse on duty refused to let me come see him. I was only allowed to see him once he had died. I recently called for information and their VP could not have been more rude or dismissive. This is the retirement home we have all been warned about

The JHA accepts 65 years and older, I stayed at the Rehabilitation center for 10 days, not one time did any staff member when called ignored your call, if they heard the walker at 2am they would come to double check, fix your sheets without even a doubt, and make sure you in bed comfortable, if you need rehabilitation center,don't look further, this place is the happiest, kindness, loving, caring, that anyone can find, good luck

Based on direct knowledge and firsthand accounts, I have serious concerns about how residents are being treated. One resident I know personally was not properly cared for after a fall. After that incident, she was reportedly not assisted with meals or monitored to ensure she ate for three days. Her room has flooded twice, and because of how often this happens, it reportedly smells of mold, which raises serious health concerns. After the second flood, she was abruptly dismissed from her room so it could be cleaned and was not allowed to gather her phone, shoes, or any personal belongings. She was sent out in the middle of December wearing only sandals and no sweater. This showed a complete lack of concern for her safety, comfort, or dignity. What is most disturbing is the lack of empathy. This is a facility entrusted with the care of vulnerable seniors, yet the focus appears to be convenience and profit rather than basic human compassion. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS FACILITY!!!! Please choose another place. No one's loved one deserves to be treated this way.

The staff here is amazing, they don't just do their jobs (and they do them well) they are all very kind, supportive and loving toward her. This is a woman who would not leave her apartment, slept until noon, getting her to get dressed was a big task but her nature is social. She was famous in her youth and a singer / dancer. I could not believe that she was up and out of her room (DRESSED) by 8am and didn't return until after 5PM on day 2. EVERY SINGLE DAY she is kept active, she's singing with the pianist, playing bingo, watching movies, doing arts and crafts AND they told me she was participating in the morning walk! One of the ladies there sent me a video of her singing with the pianist today - she is in her element. Her Doctor comes to her every month (more if she needed him). I was weary that they would not be able to get her out of her room and get her dressed. AvantGarde has surpassed my expectations. I can travel without worry, I can visit her without me being the caretaker, I can rest easy knowing she is having a great time and in loving, capable hands.

I built a guesthouse for her and as her care needs grew, I was there for her. Unfortunately, at home care became nearly impossible. She fell 3 times in just under a week. The falls were violent and damaging. When the paramedics arrived after the third fall one of them pulled me to the side and told me that the most important step going forward was for me to keep my mother safe and suggested I place her in an assisted care home. That morning, as the ambulance left my house, I made the heartbreaking decision to find a place where she would have 24 hour care and be safe. I found MK Quality Care and went over to talk to the owners, Mariam and Karo. They are a husband wife team with a family of their own and that shows through at MK. The house feels like a home. The staff is like family. In fact, my son and one of the care givers son attend the same university. The property has a wonderful front yard (behind a wall) for residents to sit and enjoy the weather. The house is impeccably clean and there is always fresh food being cooked. Karo even brings fresh apples from his house! I consider everyone there to be part of my extended family. I even chat with the other residents when mom falls asleep. This review is long in the making. My mother has been a resident there for a year and a half now. Recently she was placed on hospice. This process was made much more manageable with help from Mariam. She understands how the system works and can get things done fast. She's been a life saver for my family and does what she does because she cares. I want to wrap this review up by saying that moving my mother (the single woman who sacrificed so much of her life to raise me and my siblings) from my home was maybe the hardest decision I've ever made but it was the right choice. My mother has been well cared for, loved, and most importantly she is safe. I hope this helps you make your decision with your loved one.

The Memory Care team treated him with respect and kindness, giving him the most independence possible. Northridge Valleys staff and admin team values collaboration and relationships with families. We worked together to give Dad everything he needed to live his best life. They never saw him as an Alzheimer's patient, but as a human being whose needs changed as he progressed in his journey. It was obvious that the team loves what they do, which showed in how comfortable our dad was at Northridge Valley. The level of care gave us piece of mind, we knew he was receiving what he needed. The bedrooms were large and they offer single or shared rooms. All the residents were enjoying their meals during the time of my visit. You can see how much the care givers love and take very great care of each resident. I love how big the back yard is for residents to garden, walk and exercise. Compared to other board and cares, this home stands out and I would definitely place my loved one here. I prefer a smaller assisted living compared to a large facility because of ratio to resident care is more one on one care. Highly recommend touring.
