This corner locale hits the spot if you're looking for a quick stop for a super cold beer with friends. The outdoor tables get busy with the locals and on any afternoon you can find older Brazilians sharing a few Originals (my favorite beer).
Today, I sat indoors (no A/C) and ordered the filet de frango completo (grilled chicken breast topped with an overcooked fried egg, a side of white rice, a small pot of pinto beans, and a "salad" of sliced white onions and tomato). This is my go-to meal at local lanchonettes and while the version at Amazonia was somewhat underwhleming, it still hit the spot and came in at only R$29 (with that bottle of Original).
Here, you can also score fresh juices, but note that the coconut water comes out of a tetra-pack carton, not a fresh freaking coconut. These things aside, it's a well-located spot for a casual table outdoors and a bottle of beer. Those looking for more of a beer-drinking scene (with expats) should walk to the next block and hit the green bar (walls are all green) with tables outside. read more
