I went to Dona Vitamina to try to cram in some healthy food after eating a few too many pão de queijos and I wasn't disappointed! The açaí smoothie came out first and was perfectly thick and sweetened just enough - it was delicious. The mushroom wrap was great as well. I'm not a big bread eater (for sandwiches) so I likely would have asked for it without a wrap had I thought ahead. However, the spinach wrap was good and a great seasoning to it. This place is a bit more on the pricey side (in line with other restaurants in the area) - my meal was about $13 USD which is a little less than what I would have paid for a comparable meal in the US. If you're not on a strict budget then I'd recommend a detox meal here! read more

Place is rad and charming! Was looking for a place to grab a quick breakfast before bikram on a Saturday that would open early, didn't find many, found a few padarias but it's bad when I go in before a workout because I get enticed with greasy food like coxinhas, pão de queijo, etc so this time I'd skipped it. Came to Dona Vitamina to check it out and it's awesome! Open decor, a garden in the back of the room, vertical garden, open kitchen, smiling service staff, magazine rack, truly felt like I was having breakfast somewhere around Rodrigo de Freitas Lake in Rio. Menu has a wide range from vitaminas (smoothies), wraps, sandwiches, pão de queijo, bread, cakes, the list goes on. Beyond the great variety of juices and smoothies implied in the name, they make amazing wraps, salads, and tortas for lunch and eggs, omelets and fruit salad for breakfast. The ambiance of the colorful decor is cheery and includes adorable fruit themed touches like a hanging pineapple lamp in the bathroom. This place gets an A+ not only for the consistency and quality of their fresh ingredients but also for their speedy and organized service. Although the wait can get crazy at lunch time, once you're seated the food that you order comes quickly and is always correct, since they use a clever app to send your order via wifi on the spot. For those looking to escape the healthy wave, I can vouch that the cakes are also delicious, and I have my eye on their shakes to try too. This place is not only adorable, with an indoor/outdoor open air vibe, but it also offers some of the freshest (and most creative) juice options and a great selection of good-for-you eats. This Pinheiros café is awesome for breakfast (where you can get a made-to-order acai bowl or smoothie) and lunch, when the neighborhood files in for a highly organic and guilt-free meal. It's a great place to plug in and has great internet -- although if it's busy, treating this spot as an internet cafe might not be all that appreciated. read more

The owner was able to speak with us in English to ensure what we were ordering and to make sure everything I had was gluten free with no cross contamination. Highly recommend the coconut smoothie! I really enjoyed the chill atmosphere and funny cross-eyed woman logo as soon as I walked in. The open concept dining was def a plus. The juice I had tasted great but could've been blended a little longer as I found a few chunks of carrots but I like carrots so it's l good. Healthy and tasty breakfast to start off our day sightseeing. They had so many great options it was hard to choose! Their specialty is fresh juices and smoothies, but they have plenty of options for real food too. I recommend the veggie omelette and the acai/granola bowl. The setting is quaint and decorated happily. But it does make for a tight squeeze between tables. It would be hard to bring a group of people here. Tables are set up for solo people or couples.
