They lie about when prescriptions will be delivered. Full of apologies but no action. Shifting back to a conventional pharmacy.

Placed my first order with Amazon Pharmacy. Purchased many items from Amazon over the years, so felt like i could trust them with my medications. Boy was I in for a rude awakening. The prescription was for a 90 day supply. Slightly less than other pharmacies, so seemed like a great deal. Imagine my shock to find when I received the order that it was only 30 days, making it 230% more expensive than Walgreens or CVS. What's more, it was the generic and was more expensive than the brand name. Spoke to customer service and was told (nicely); sorry Charlie, to bad so sad. So burn me once, shame on Amazon Pharmacy. The worst pharmacy ever. Pharmacist Sabrina is very unprofessional. They question every drug my doctors call in. It constantly infuriates my dr. They even delete prescriptions they feel need to be removed. I'm not talking about narcotics or scheduled drugs either. I've never dealt with such obnoxious pharmacists anywhere. She even reported my "attitude" to my physician. The same one whose prescriptions she deleted. She even said she had more education than my doctor. Unbelievable. read more

So far I have been really appreciative of and impressed with Amazon Pharmacy. Before I was with CVS and the difference in my experience has been night and day. My husband and I have received outstanding customer service when we needed assistance and my prescriptions have been ready weeks in advance. And when Amazon noticed all on their own that I was going to need a renewal in about 2 months, they contacted my doctor to successfully renew the prescription. And for our medications, the price without insurance through Amazon has been on par/reasonable. Sometimes it's been cheaper to just take Amazon's price instead of the price with our good insurance. My husband and I have been with Amazon Pharmacy for about 6 months and getting our prescriptions has been so stress free thus far; we didn't know we could have this positive of an experience with a pharmacy. My doctor faxed rx to them and called them to make sure everything is ok but nothing was being done. I called them and they told me that there is something wrong with the prescription. They failed to get an Rx transfer from my current pharmacy, nor from my optometrist, so cancelled the transfer. Then I took the time to get a written RX and sent it to the address they have on their site, for mail in prescriptions. Still no Rx because they "can't find my written Rx". Their prices may be low, but their service is very unacceptable. read more

Bad, bad, bad Be careful! I've been taking this certain medicine for 10 years and no issues. Blue Cross stopped paying for it this year and I was stuck paying over $1,000/mo if I decided to stay on it. I saw where I could get it on Amazon pharmacy for a fraction of the cost. The blood pressure meds they sent me were from EPIC PHARMA, owned by Humanwell, a Chinese company based in Wuhan, China. I had horrible chest pain, and stroke level blood pressure after taking it. When I contacted Amazon Pharmacy to tell them the issues I had with the medicine, they said it was my fault because I didn't have my doctor specify which manufacturer. No pharmacy has ever asked which manufacturer I use Be careful, this is dangerous! No accountability! No refund! No concern for your health. read more

I have switched my prescriptions to Amazon Pharmacy from Walgreens but the delivery service is atrocious. They just delivered $4000 worth of prescriptions to the mail room and not to my delivery address which includes my unit number (66 in the building) AND THREW THEM ON THE FLOOR LIKE TRASH! I had my prescription on auto refill. The program they use ordered it early resulting in my insurance denning it so they sent it to me any way costing me $85.00 instead of my $10.00 copay. I've called twice already but they say it's my fault because I ordered to early needless to say they they won't admit the mistake or give me my money back. Don't use auto refill if you have to use them. I'm going back to CVS. read more

All the pills they sent were enormous. I've never had a problem swallowing pills, but these get stuck in your throat. I think they use cheap generics. It's convenient to get delivery through the mail, but I'm switching back to my pharmacy to get better quality. It's not Amazon's normal return policy either. Stuck with a 90 day supply. Amazon pharmacy is a total waste of time, they promised delivery upfront just to get your money and then you will never get your medication or they will be delayed. if you call Amazon pharmacy and ask them about your medication, they simply repeat the same information and can give you no reason why your medication has not arrived. If they are the only ones with access to your medication, you're in trouble. Over a week waiting for the $1300 REFRIGERATED medication script to be ready to be fulfilled and THEN one problem after the next spending hours every day to resolve. Insurance DENIED my prescription because some Amazon GENIUS orderd 4 times the quantity so I had to start OVER. That's just the BEGINNING. The call center is uneducated and quote the wrong things. They also just repeat the same vague nonsense over and over hoping you'll hang up. (I was quoted ONE injectable pen was shipped instead of the ONE BOX it should have been only to find out hours later they did ship the BOX). ON HOLD 2 HOURS for "a pharmacist". With a thick accent, not following the conversation, sounding like in a tunnel and you have to repeat yourself 10 times. I actually spent 4 hours yesterday on the phone with them because of dosing/shipping errors quoted and the chill box issues and them not being able to tell me where the med was at any time. The tracking system you see is innacurate. They also upload info way after the fact. The tracking system gets "updated" falsely. They just replace one data point with a new one with no history of the prior data. To satisfy their own metrics because for example, changing the fullfillment. A chill box is only good for 47 hours. So 5:45PM "Filled and Shipped" gets changed to "9:00 Filled and Shipped" gets changed to the next day "11 AM Filled and Shipped" so you have NO IDEA AT ALL if your medication was sitting on a 100 degree truck for a whole extra day or not. Then you call and they deny what you see/saw on your OWN SCREEN. THEN, UPS doesn't update the tracking and give you an error message "no data available" until two days later when they DUMP two days worth of tracking onto the screen. DON'T USE THEM FOR LIFESAVING MEDS! As of RIGHT NOW, my chill pack medication has been sitting in a UPS facility in my OWN NEIGHBORHOOD for over a full day! Day TWO of "Filled and Shipped" which they say the box is good for 47 hours. read more

Stay away from these people!! Their systems have too many bugs! Sent them an Rx for Ozempic, which they claimed on the phone to have in stock. Order was processed and we were sent a note giving us delivery date. Health plan was charged and paid. Order was then claimed to be arriving a few days late. Then a note that they didn't have the item. BUT they are unable to reverse the transaction, making it impossible for me to get the drug from a different pharmacy, as the health plan won't cover it. Several hours of calls to Amazon and health plan led to "explanation" that they have a system problem and need to send a "ticket" to tech support to resolve the issue. In meantime, I'm not able to get the drug -- unless I pay full price for it $1,000. No way I'm going to go back! Also, no way to determine your copay/cost without first transferring Rx to them. Horrible customer service. They were supposed to deliver by 10:00 PM on Tuesday night. 2 days later we found out they cancelled the delivery because the RX was allegedly damaged. We had to initiate redelivery; they did nothing proactive. They also cannot deliver for 2 days despite the original delivery being scheduled for less than 5 hours after ordering. Customer service would not even admit that they were at fault for the failed delivery, nor would they do anything to expedite the delivery despite us being out of one of the meds. They also could not explain how the meds got damaged or why the driver even opened the bag to discover they were damaged. read more

I recently had a prescription that was damaged in transit and undelivered. A refund was credited to my account. However, the refill was not credited to my account. It being my last refill, I was told that I have to contact my doctor for a refill, which requires a doctor's appointment. Which has a co-pay, plus my prescription co-pay. All because Amazon messed up my delivery. Not crediting back a refill that THEY damaged is atrocious. I got the standard Amazon customer service, which is pretty much "We can't do anything. You figure it out. Thanks for your money." Stick with your local pharmacy. This service is trash. read more

My family has been using Amazon pharmacy for a few years now. The service in the beginning has been excellent and we have always received our prescriptions on time and our doctor has not had a problem calling in prescriptions and we have always received our prescriptions in a fast and timely manner. However recently I can say that the service and the customer service has completely gone downhill. I have been on all of the same medications for years. Now it takes days to get prescriptions, when I run out of refills they let me know that I need to contact my doctor in the app which I do and then all of a sudden it says the pharmacist has my prescription under review for potential risk (whatever that means), then it takes even longer to get my prescriptions and I run out. Now many of my medications I cannot run out of and I go days without having my medication which cause many issues for me. There's no customer service number to call. When you go on the app you first get an AI thing to talk to a few times and then you can choose to speak to a real person who doesn't know what the hell they're doing and it takes 20 minutes for them to even figure out what you need. Now if there was a problem with my medications why did it take 2 years for them to put my medications under review. Now all of my medications are prescribed by a doctor so if there's a problem that should be up to my doctor to determine not a pharmacist. Like I said I've been on all of these medications being filled by Amazon for years so why don't they just fill them. It has been 5 days and my medications still haven't been filled and I have run out. I am ready to switch to a new pharmacy but because of our insurance and our doctor's office I'm stuck. So if you're thinking of switching to Amazon pharmacy I would really think twice about it because I would definitely switch back to Walmart pharmacy. If Amazon's going to start taking over everything then maybe they should consider better customer service and not having an AI customer service trying to fix issues that real people have with medical care. read more

Just got off of an hour call with amazon pharmacy. Multiple accounts, 5 days worth of online blunders. Prescriptions lost, poor or no explanation of benefits and/ or coverage. I will loose this service as soon as possible and issue complaints to anyone within my organization as often as possible. Amazon seemingly can never get the use of copay cards to work properly. I have 3 such prescriptions and have put all my copay cards into Amazon. Every time they try to use the wrong copay card and of course it does not work. I end up having to delete all my copay cards and input one card then order the corresponding medication. Once it goes through, I have to delete the first copay card and input the second one then it's prescription. Then do the same for my third prescription also. I can't just have the 3 cards on file order all 3 at once and have everything work. What's funny is Amazon is a 2 Trillion dollar company and they never get this right. CVS always got it right no problem. I can't use CVS because my insurance will only pay if I use Amazon. read more

Horrible! I have been trying to find a US Pharmacy that can get Lacrisert Opthalmic Implant, which is an insertable sustained release eye lubricant for those of us who have dry eyes, which is a very uncomfortable condition. Over the past year we have been told that the medication is on back order "because CV19 has prevented production." However, the internet shows numerous Canadian Pharmacies that allege to carry the brand name product produced by Bosch and Lomb. Not wishing to deal with pharmacies out of the country I checked for availability and Amazon Pharmacy listed it as a drug that they had, or could get - nothing indicated that it was unavailable. I had the doctor send in a Rx and filled out my insurance data on the AP site. This was the first time that I tried to use AP so the only data that should have been present in their computers was that which I had supplied. 1 day later I received notification that the Rx could be filled but that my insurance would not cover any of the $1,200.00 cost for a 2 month supply of this drug that I have used for years at about 25% or less, of that cost. I called the AP Customer Service to inquire why may insurance that had always covered a portion of the cost would not do so now. I was told that AP had spoken to the Drug Coverage Carrier and was told that they have "decided not to cover this drug." I asked why would that be since they had always covered it in the past, my coverage has not changed so why or how can they suddenly and arbitrarily decide not to cover it now. She replied that she did not know so I called the Insurance company to ask them why they would suddenly choose to not cover a medication that I have used for years and definitely need since dry eyes are very uncomfortable. The agent, Jonathan, stated that they had received no inquiries concerning a request to cover this medication. He then called the AP, with me on the line, to inquire as to why I had been told that the medication would not be covered by them. The first AP rep that we spoke to was Sydney. She started by checking the insurance numbers that AP had on record. NONE were correct! I had no idea where those number came from and gave her the correct numbers that I had personally entered upon registration. A long discussion ensued and then it was determined that AP had no way to enter the name of anyone other than the policy holder into their system. So because my coverage was via my husband there was no way to indicate that was patient #2 on the policy. So I would just have to pay the $1,200. Jonathan was insistent that they find a way to accept the coverage. We spoke longer and Sydney then got her supervisor, Alice, on the phone. Alice was somewhat rude and interrupted me whenever I spoke. The conversation ended with her giving one complex explanation after another as to why they could not accept my insurance. The entire encounter took 90 minutes and ended with AP not being willing to take my insurance because their computer would not allow it. I am still awaiting a Customer Satisfaction Inquiry, which I suspect will never arrive. The bottom line is that I was told that my insurance would not cover the Rx and when the insurance company spoke to them the story changed to them not be able to accept my insurance because their computer would not allow it. read more

They issued me a refund but I had to call a pharmacy and ask them to transfer the prescription myself. Don't waste your time. Amazon delivers packages every day... If I could give amazon pharmacy less than ZERO stars, I would. TERRIBLE experience. Their drop-down medication menu is not comprehensive so picked the closest quantity of medication knowing that my real prescription was for double that amount. Despite my prescription specifying certain quantity, amazon defaulted to half of prescribed quantity without any follow-up or clarification. I contacted them to request they complete the remaining balance of my prescription quantity and they refused saying they did everything correctly even though they could have simply extended me a simple $10 account credit to offset the second $10 co-pay that I would have to pay to get the balance of my prescription that they should have filled as prescribed. Contacted customer service supervisor who was rude, non-budging and insisted they did everything correctly. I have never had an experience of a pharmacy dispensing something less than what a medical provider prescribed without confirming with customer. Supervisor didn't care and kept insisting they did everything correctly. Thanks, amazon pharmacy. For the cost of a dumb $10 customer courtesy credit, I will take my pharmacy business away and tell all my friends to do the same. HORRIBLE!!! read more

I filled three prescriptions through Amazon. I was sent a text informing me they were shipped, everything seemed to be going smoothly, until several days later I received another text saying I was refunded and would not receive my medications. When I tried to speak with a customer service agent, I was told that there was an issue on their end and I would need to request another prescription from my doctor or use one of my refills (so I don't get the original refill?). This seemed very strange - why on earth should I have to request a new prescription when they were the ones that screwed up? Why is that my problem? After bringing this up with the agent, she told me she was shocked by that rule as well and did not offer a solution, so I asked to speak on the phone with a supervisor. I was given the same answer by the supervisor - the package had gotten damaged during shipping and couldn't be sent, if they get the medications back they can send me new ones without a new prescription, but if the package is not returned to them (which apparently happens frequently), they will need word from my doctor. I asked when they could expect to have the package returned by and they didn't know. So essentially they lost THREE medications. Absolutely ridiculous. If I don't have my medication, and they know I don't have my medication because they messed up, why do I have to be the one to solve the problem?? Additionally, why aren't they keeping closer track of the medications they're sending out? Imagine this happens on a regular basis, are they losing controlled substances? And why is this not being filed in a report on their end - instead I have to cover their mistake by ordering another prescription? If this problem isn't solved by next week I'm transferring everything to Walgreens. Unbelievable. read more

Would give 0 stars if possible. My doctor increased my dosage of a medication I've been taking for 10 years. I received a message that there were changes to my current prescription and a new prescription was received. Amazon cancelled my current prescription and insisted there was no new prescription, my doctor cancelled my current but didn't send in anything new. Why would my doctor cancel my entire prescription without sending a new one? Then when I said I was thinking about transferring pharmacies they said they could help my transfer the prescription. How can you transfer it if it doesn't exist? It's near impossible to update dosages on the app, it just tell you you're already taking the medication even if it's listed as a different dosage. Immediately after getting off the phone with Amazon pharmacy I received another notification that there was a new prescription in the system. Totally not worth the constant chaos. read more

Pharmacy has a very helpful staff. I needed my nail medication as I have a nail disorder. The pharmacist was very cordial and took care of me in as little as 5 minutes for 2 prescriptions. I have been coming here for almost a year now and I stil remain a loyal customer because of how they treat me with personal care. They also sell surgical supplies and cosmetics and they also have free delivery for all prescriptions, in-case you cannot go to them to pick it up. Overall, great and convenient local pharmacy. read more

Pharmacist is surprisingly attentive. CVS no longer took my insurance, but Amazon pharmacy did. My co-pay and out-of-pocket pharmaceutical costs are now 50% or $50 less per month. Very happy that I moved my prescriptions over. read more
