The guide was not an engaging guide- very monotone and gave very generic facts. He was very focused on sites/facts related to Scarface- mentioned it at least 5 times. He did not always tell factual information- things Google can tell you otherwise. He gave arbitrary times at each stop- for example he gave 40 minutes at Little Havana, and most of us were waiting on the van for the bus driver. The tour was supposed to be 3 1/2 hours, so it should've ended at 5:30. We got off the van at 6:15 and that's only because someone on our van asked to get off early. Very disappointing. Definitely would not recommend.

Danny knew so many people on the street who stopped to speak to him. Sure, most of those people had something to sell and they hoped we would be their customers- but it was a joy to be exposed to it all- a person with parrots for photographs, a man selling peanuts for a dollar, and all the people in all the shops we stopped in . We ate cuban sandwich (amazing!) , guava pastries, empanadas, and churros- it was basically two meals!. Danny also told lots of stories and we learned about the hobby of dominos with a Cuban twist, and the history of the Bay of Pigs. This was not a serious history tour, but it was super fun and I highly recommend it. He pointed out a jazz club on the tour, Ball & Chain- we stopped there for a cuban mojito after the tour and listened to the band. It was a wonderful afternoon.

So, I went for the next best opportunity and leaving my review on Yelp. It shouldn't take too long to realize, this is a must do tour. We love learning about the areas we visit, listen and learn authentic information of the area by passionate locals. Dani encompasses all of that and more. We had already visited the San Carlos Institute in Key West and gained information on the history of Cuba and the citizens escaping Castro and his regime. What a beautiful culture of food, music, dance, clothing, art they brought to the US. Do not eat before you come as you will miss out on the fabulous sampling of Cuban food & drink. There is enough food on this tour that you will not leave hungry. I won't restate all the offerings which you can see from reviews and the tour posting. We have never had Empanadas as good as today and that was just the start. I hope the area of Little Havana continues to thrive and many people experience it. We had such a good time, I decided to book them myself for my husband's birthday. Unlike charter boats that have limited capacity, this can have up to 39 guests. We paid $55 per person for four hours at sea. We first cruised around Biscayne Bay, taking in views of downtown and the waterways, until eventually we ended up at a sandbar where they give you rafts and paddle boards to hang out on. You can pay extra for a DJ or even food that they can grill on the boat. We ended up bringing our own food and hooking up our own music; however, the two person crew was so helpful when it came to organizing everything and ensuring we had a good time. Fernanda was very easy to coordinate with! The boat promptly arrived to the Sea Isle Marina downtown at 11:00 am and had us back right at 3:00 pm.
