The pizza is great - always hot, crispy and delicious. The only slipup we've experienced was during the pandemic... quality wasn't as high. The Riverside Pizza in Green Bay is very good but doesn't hit the same level as the one in Iron River... I'm thinking the memories we have add to the enjoyment. I ordered lemon pepper cod and my husband ordered chicken breast with fruit and cottage cheese. We waited at least an hour for our food. There weren't that many people there, but figured they were short handed. Food came--mashed potatoes with globs of cornstarch gravy that tasted awful, canned corn, a side of coleslaw that was more cole than slaw, and overcooked fish. My husbands chicken breast was fair, but the fruit was out of a can and cottage cheese warm and tasteless. Most of the food was not freshly cooked, so don't know how it could have taken so long. The server was very sweet, yet very inattentive.

We pulled up to the restaurant on a Tuesday mid afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the entire experience. Service was friendly and welcoming. I don't think I've been to a cleaner restaurant. Ever. The food... being from Texas we are bbq snobs. And this bbq did not disappoint especially considering its location up north. From the 5 sauces given to us which were labeled (loved this so we could remember which was which), the creamy mac and cheese to the perfectly seasoned pulled pork, everything was so good. The ribs were nicely sauced and perfectly tender. We split a 2 meat (pilled pork and 3 ribs) with 2 sides ( mac and cheese and chili (up-charge)). The portions were generous and well priced. Re-route your trip, and stop by the Curious Pig! You won't be disappointed.

The BBQ baked beans are ok. The hush puppies & pimento cheese appetizer was ok. The hush puppies were dry and bland. The pimento cheese was good though. The bad - the Rueben sandwich. The meat was good but it was just huge chunks, not shaved. I could not eat the sandwich or enjoy it. It all just fell apart. Disappointing. I wanted to say something but the owner did not seem overly friendly or wanted to bother talking to us. I will go back but just order a meat platter or ribs.

While the reviews were all about the pizza, I wasn't in the mood for that, so I went with a Calzone instead, and was a bit disappointed. The cheese and crust were flavorful but the sausage was sub-par (reminded me of a frozen pizza). Also, the middle was only lukewarm; which was odd because when I got to the other end, that was still hot. Service was very attentive, though I was a little weirded out at the owner standing at the counter looking outside, almost willing customers to come in (I was the only patron). Had I known that I should just stick to the calzones from Pizza Shuttle back home I would have tried the pizza since it's gotten rave reviews here.
