Every time I visited, Dr. Omino took the time to really explain all my options and answered all my questions. He took my symptoms seriously and never once dismissed me. He thought outside the box and ensured he did a full diagnostic work up for all potential diagnoses. Easy to talk to, thorough, and listens closely to what you say. His nurse practitioner or physicians assistant is young and not nearly as thorough or proactive. One thing that I disagree with is that they will close for lunch on some days. It's called urgent care and they should be available whenever they are open. There is not a lunch listed on their schedule. Dr. Kodama has been our primary care physician for 25 years also. He has been an excellent doctor for many years. Unfortunately, I think he is looking towards retirement, and the quality of the practice has gone down as he has hired some young physician assistants and nurse practitioners to see patients rather than him. Getting to see him how is hard, and when you do, I feel like he is not as thorough as he used to be. The physician assistants are very quick to grab onto one idea of what is going on and send you prescriptions, but they are more times than I would like. They also don't listen very well when you talk to them about side effects or about the medication not working at all. Overall, our family still goes to this practice, we just need to be persistent in getting the care we need if we are dealing with the nurse practitioners or physicians assistants.

My GP sent Dr. Moe to take over--something that, in retrospect, saved my life. Without going into personal details, Dr Amadpour had a hunch I had a certain manageable condition while other ER docs disagreed. Had they won out, the treatment likely would have been very detrimental to me, then and into the future. My 2-star rating has NOTHING to do with Dr. A and everything to do with his miserable practice staff. With tragically few exceptions, they are ICE COLD. You can't get a friendly worker EVER. They seem unhappy to be there, unwilling to treat patients with care and compassion. Trying calling for ANY reason. It ALWAYS goes to voicemail and those calls are ignored. I tried time and again to get my records forwarded to a new GI doc where I now live. No returned calls. Period. I even FAXED the request and never heard back. I cannot more highly recommend DOCTOR Amadpour. Sadly, you have to go through his PRACTICE to reach him. For this patient, it stopped being worth the abuse.
