I wouldn't want anyone else to draw my lab work . Lorena makes us feel at ease with her kindness. Always a smiling face and is quick to help us when we call or when we come to the office. But now, I'd like to give a rating for the other office staff. That would be a less than 0 rating. Especially the newer staff. It is severely unorganized and it no longer has a friendly feeling when having to communicate with them. We are not treated as patients more like numbers. Many times I have called and was left on hold for as long as 20 minutes. I had to have a surgery clearance and they told me he wasn't available until November!! Surgery was within 2 weeks. I explained this to the front office staff and she literally said "I don't know what to tell you" I asked that she give Dr. Nguyen a message to call me. She didn't ask for any information then said "oh ok" as if to dismiss me. I was a cardiology nurse for many years. I also worked front office. I know the importance of treating your patients with kindness and respect. This front office has none of that. If we didn't love him so much as our physician, we would leave. This new staff needs an overhaul! I will be communicating this to him.

He is already in Atrial fibrillation, but they don't seem to care. I got a referral to Orthopedics and could make an appointment the next day and this was not life threatening. You would think cardiology would be on top of their patient care. No one wonder the ER's are over run. It is the only way to get anything done or drive to Modesto.

Ok. Lets cut to the chase. You're Yelping cardiologists. That usually means something major is…read moreabout to go down. Whether for you or for someone you love...its time to take some action. That's where I was 2.5 years ago. A fellow co-worker of mine died at work because of a heart attack and it motivated me to examine my health. My family history is riddled with early heart disease and strokes. I had extremely high cholesterol, fatigue, chest pain, and other classic symptoms but being a young 46 year old at the time, and not overweight, I figured I was just overworked and stressed out. While that was true, Dr. Ben-Zur quickly gave me a reality check that something more was going on. He rapidly diagnosed my problem and convinced me that I needed an angiogram. That test showed that I had 2 blocked arteries at 100% and another at 95%. A triple bypass was drastically required. Throughout all of it, Dr. Ben-Zur was there supporting me and my family through the whirlwind process. As an interventionist, he didn't perform my bypass, but he helped me find a thoracic surgeon, and now Dr. Ben-Zur currently provides all of my post surgery aftercare. I owe him my life because I was on the fast track to a full on heart attack. We've formed a great health care relationship. Trying to find a cardiologist is difficult. There are so many choices. Who do you trust? Is this person knowledgeable? Are they personable? Can I depend on them with my life? Its these kinds of questions that actually prevent you from doing something because dealing with heart issues is scary. Its so easy to deny and think those chest pains are nothing and going to some random doctor in the phone book is sketchy at best. So, take these questions out of the equation and visit Dr. Ben-Zur to be certain. If you have a heart problem, he'll find it. He'll run the proper tests, you'll feel comfortable and I promise you he'll help alleviate your anxiety regarding your heart issue. Dr. Ben-Zur's team is also top notch. Incredibly personable, friendly, and always looking out for your best interest. They helped me with filing my disability claim during the recovery process. They keep me motivated to exercise and eat the right things. The office is relaxing and inviting. The walls are covered in photos and testimonies of the people who's lives Dr. Ben-Zur has saved. Take confidence that you're in the right place. Quite simply, he's the doctor you're looking for.

I am currently giving this practice three stars, although I plan to give the doctor and staff…read moreanother opportunity before making a final judgment. My initial experience with Sam, the nurse practitioner, and the physician assistant was very pleasant. They were warm, professional, and made me feel optimistic that I had found a family practice where I could establish long-term care. Unfortunately, my experience changed after my laboratory results became available. A receptionist named Britney called me and immediately began discussing my results without first asking whether I was in a private place or prepared to receive medical information. I was at work and had to interrupt her and ask her to wait while I moved somewhere private. I had assumed she was calling only to schedule a follow-up appointment. I believe staff members discussing medical information should always confirm that the patient is able to speak privately before sharing results. When I returned for my follow-up appointment, there also appeared to be some confusion at the front desk. Although I had confirmed my appointment the previous day, the doctor stated that he had not known I was coming and had taken another patient before me. He apologized, but the delay made me late for work. Once I was called back, the process felt rushed. I was quickly directed onto the scale and then placed in a room with a medical student. I was not asked whether I was comfortable having a student participate in my appointment. The student repeatedly described my hormonal status in a way that did not match what I had previously been told, and our discussion about vitamin D supplementation felt dismissive rather than collaborative. I was also uncomfortable with the student shifting and rocking from side to side in my peripheral vision while the doctor discussed some concerning health information. That made an already stressful conversation more difficult. Later, when the doctor returned and spoke with me privately, the interaction was much more comfortable. He was pleasant, made eye contact, explained things more clearly, and ultimately did a good job addressing my concerns. I wish the receptionist had demonstrated a better understanding of patient privacy, that I had been asked for consent before a medical student joined the appointment, and that the visit had not felt so rushed. Staffing problems, scheduling confusion, and the absence of a manager may explain why the office was having a difficult day, but patients should not have to absorb the consequences. Overall, the doctor handled the appointment well toward the end, and my first visit with the other clinical staff had been positive. I spent considerable time researching family-practice physicians because I hoped to establish ongoing care here. For that reason, I am willing to give the doctor and the office another chance before deciding whether this practice is the right fit for me.
