I have incredibly sensitive difficult combination ginger skin. Seeing her my skin is the best it's ever been so it was a no brainer to move offices with her. I had a follow up yesterday and rx refills. I couldn't be happier with the treatment, cleanliness, nice staff, office layout, clean bathroom, prices, and everything about the visit. The salon was beautiful. Rachel has a quiet room back behind the front desk. It was a dark lit room with candle light. Soft music was played during my service helping me ease into a state of relaxation. My favorite part of the treatment was the arm and hand massage. Sooo relaxing and enjoyable. I really felt like my skin was glowing after this treatment. If I had an abundance of cash I would be visiting Rachel on a monthly basis! But as of now, facials are a bit out of my price range. I went to Paul Young, didn't see him, which is fine, but the NP that I saw didn't do anything my PCP didn't do and immediately suggested a nasal ablation and went on a sales pitch about how Dr. Young does them in the office. Felt like they "sell" that to everyone. She also couldn't see anything concerning- so why suggest this procedure? And for the plugged ears, she suggested I get a hearing test but they don't perform them. What kind of ENT can't do a hearing test in the office? Long story short- useless and total waste of time and money. Just got a $350.00 bill, after insurance for literally nothing.

The new physician, at my very first visit, said: 'I got your records from Dr Young's office, as well as the notes about your anxiety." I don't have anxiety. The awful surgery center that he uses kept me in a room for nearly NINE HOURS waiting to be taken back for surgery; I asked a nurse ONE TIME when I'll be taken back and she ran and told the anesthesiologist's helper that I was 'anxious' and they offered to give me pre-anesthesia to 'calm me down.' No, I was not anxious, I was super thirsty and MAD because I have not had any food or drink since midnight and it was nearly 5pm (so for15 hours). My nose is the same now as it was pre-surgery. I'm still congested, I still have post-nasal drip, and my sleep still sucks because I'm coughing from the throat irritation of the snot dripping down my throat. I've asked them to test me for other things (Covid, etc.) that might suggest why I was still feeling that way; apparently wanting to breathe without choking on snot makes a person 'anxious.' I guess that the PAs / Ear Doctor are also psychologists, and are able to diagnose 'anxiety' without a degree in human psychology. Interesting. No wonder my Primary Doc, at my 'make sure this person is healthy before surgery' checkup looked down at the doctor's name and said: 'Just be careful, some doctors think they're god and will judge you for everything."

I have interacted with 2 of the Psychiatrists in this practice in that capacity; Dr Ghosh and Dr. Tan. Both of these Doctors take the necessary time to understand the issues surrounding their patients needs and show a penchant to avoid over prescribing potentially unnecessary medicines. Most importantly however that I noted is most Psychiatrists I've ever interacted with just focus on the maintenance of a patients' mental health, both of these practitioners have shown their willingness to create a road map of recovery that actively looks to see their patient overcome their mental health challenges. There is a stigma in our culture about mental health issues. Considering 36% of the US population reported some level of incidence of Anxiety or Depression related disorders (i.e just over 1/3 of our population) it seems silly that this stigma even still exists. With practitioners like these it makes it easier to cope with the challenges of mental illness.

I walked in to. find staff with clipboards walking all over the place like waitstaff at a busy restaurant . Then I saw the signs saying CHECK IN and also Check Out . A bit like the check-in desks at a busy airport. I was checked in quickly and directed to take a seat in the waiting area . It was like a scene I experienced in crowded doctor's office in India many years ago. There had to be 40 people in the waiting area , all holding their clip boards and paperwork . Staff , with the obligatory clip board , walking in calling the first name of the next patient . I thought , this will be my last visit to this place. I waited 45 minutes to see my provider , not unusual these days . Staff led me to the examining room and I was amazed to see TWENTY examining rooms , I got room 9 . Eventually the Physiatrist came in, no long wait . Introduced himself , failed to introduce the presumed scribe that came in with him. I got the sense I was being rushed and in a conveyor belt experience. The doc did seem to be skilled and I will return and see what visit two is like . At check-out I was taken care of by someone whose name tag said "Director of Operations". He was very pleasant and quick . Good to see he was on the front lines working with the grunts .

After surgery, I continued to have pain and so I was sent every 2 to 3 months for knee injections which never helped. I kept asking for imaging and was told it's just how my knee healed. After Douglas retired. I asked why I was never given the option for Moore imaging and his nurse practitioner sent me for imaging. It turns out I needed a complete knee replacement so I did had Dr.Hlubik do my knee replacement. Days later, I went back to get my stitches out, and my leg was on fire. It hurts so bad . I was told it was normal . I told his PA Nolan I was going to the emergency room for imaging when I left the office . A half an hour later he called me to tell me to go to Windsong to get an ultrasound . Had to be poured on blood thinners because there were too large blood clots in my leg. From that point on I was completely forgotten about for a month. I kept calling and messaging my patient portal asking for physical therapy and nobody answered the patient portal and the women that answered the telephone would tell me there was never an authorization for PT. Finally my insurance company sent me the pre-op that was dated April 2025.! The same day the operation was authorized. Finally in August I was allowed to go to physical therapy. I got apologies up and down from a patient's advocate, and then Dr. Hlubik called me to apologize. I don't blame him entirely because it's his team that let me down.. I will forever beyond blood thinners because the blood clots are still in my leg. I was never able to return to my career for New York State.. which affected my retirement. And I don't know if anyone has checked lately but blood thinners run about $300 a month.. in case anyone's wondering I've had quite a few surgeries and never developed a blood clot and I was a very healthy 52 year-old woman when they started. Thanks for ruining my life and my career Excelsior orthopedics. I am searching for an attorney.
