The simple wooden chairs have nice cushions! But no table cloth and the paper napkins are cheap but large. The service is surprisingly local: no German spoken; the only English speaking waiter brought me to a table - that was it. Then came a girl with no English skills and gave me a hard time. But in the end it worked out just fine and she even gave me a smile. Although they do not really cater to the tourists their menu is 6 languages- so basic that you have no clue as what they will serve. Now to the dishes served: Excellent bred soup with meat and cabbage. Really great! And the intestines or trippa or tripe or callos were great too: very slimy, a tomato sauce with garlic and a little bit of hot pepper - just enough to get that special hot taste in your mouth. Mmh Come here if you want local food in very rustical surroundings. Do expect many Spaniards as guests and a hard time to order with a menu card that is multilingual but doesn't explain anything.

The waiter pointed out that the items on the menu board with yellow dots were discounted before 7:30 PM so I stuck to those. And while he must have confused my English on one of the tapas, the other two weren't even the same price as what was on the board. Whatever, I won't argue. Maybe you will? I had the crystal bread (delicious toasted bread topped with a tomato sauce), shrimp and garlic cooked under a broiler in a lot of butter and a shrimp/leek risotto that was delicious. The three with the 40cl beer were €30. Close to full price and worth it for the flavor and well done food. Nice fancy restaurant and I enjoyed it.

They charged me for 2 orders of bread&olives while I was only served one ( 2 pieces of bread and a small plate of olives) and when I asked for more bread, the server brought me one piece only but charged for the full set. I didn't say anything as it was Euro 1.50 difference but this whole experience left quite a bitter taste of been cheated.
