Tonight's menu... changes depending on what's in season or what's the catch of the day

Once again, had one of the best meal here. Food is just bursting with flavor and freshness. Had the oysters. And they were just divine! The mozzarella focaccia was just as tasty! Had the monkfish....oh soooo delicious. So was the grilled chicken. Enjoyed every bite. Service was excellent as always. And the place is just bustling, everyone just enjoying themselves...giving a great lively vibe. Love coming here!

Really enjoyed this restaurant. We were welcomed by the lovely host with no reservation on a busy Thursday night & she found us a table. The attention from our waiter & staff was top notch ! The lighting was very relaxing with music - not so loud playing in the background. The food was over the top amazing. We were definitely impressed! It's a must go to place when visiting New Zealand.

Are you looking for a fantastic culinary experience? This is it! The appetizers were amazing! The salad was outstanding and the pasta was great too! I highly recommend it!

I really wanted to love this meal, but it fell short. I had the crudo and truffle pasta dish. Both were good but not memorable. I knocked off an additional star because of the service. Both bartenders were inattentive. Even though they had walked by me multiple times, neither refilled my water or asked if I wanted another drink (which I would have ordered). I waited over 10 minutes before pulling aside a manager to ask for more water. I was going to go their sister restaurant, but am afraid the service will be the same. If you're on the fence about trying Amano, I would skip it.

Excellent breakfast and brunch spot that we found by accident. Love the food love the sandwiches great service very busy. Recommend go through the menu a bit. There's just so much to try.

    Breakfast

Went here for breakfast! Great ambiance- the restaurant interior is so cool. Food was delicious (I got the meatball egg bowl with sourdough) and service was great.

Best meal we've had in Auckland. The endive on the chicken dish was next level with flavor. I don't rate on this but the server was super nice and the vibe was great. Dinner * Burrata, Caponata, Olive, & Basil (Excellent) * Strawberry Side (Excellent) * Chicken (Excellent) * Kahawai (Very good)

What a perfect way to celebrate my parents' 60th wedding anniversary with a very special dinner at Amano. So lucky to be able to get a table for four without a reservation on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Thanks to Lorenzo from Roma for the last-minute table and to Vanessa for the great service. Started with the stracciatella. Stracciatella is a traditional Italian cheese made from pulled mozzarella curds mixed with fresh cream. The homemade cheese paired with juicy, sliced strawberries and basil was so perfect on the freshly baked bread. Their breads are baked on site. For dinner, we had a combination of fresh pastas, fish and lamb. So interesting to watch how they make the pasta onsite in the open kitchen. My mom loves pasta. Her handkerchief pasta, Waimauku heirloom tomatoes, olives and basil with fresh egg dough pasta sheets, was so beautiful and so delicious. The guys had the lamb pappardelle. Pasta with a delicious Hawke's Bay suffolk lamb ragu with olives and pangritata. Sooo good. Definitely get this one too. Loved the Kahawai. Chargrilled Hauraki Gulf line caught fresh kahawai served with radish, sumac and chilli. Kahawai tastes like a chinook or coho salmon. It is local to New Zealand and Australia. So yummy! Added some sweet corn since we'd been seeing fields and fields of sweet corn during our trip. Thanks to Lorenzo and Vanessa for a delightful meal and helping us to celebrate a very special 60th weeding anniversary trip. Cheers!

Breakfast sandwich, cinnamon brioche and flat white coffees

Delicious egg/basil/tomato breakfast sandwich and cinnamon brioche. The flat whites were perfect. Crowded at 8:00AM, but service was quick.

Bakery! And an incredible place for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Homemade pasta on hand with incredible atmosphere. Sit at the counter and watch them make fresh pasta and more!

I came to dinner here with a group of 8 for our Christmas Eve dinner. Everyone had been raving about how good this restaurant was so I was excited to give it a try. The staff were so friendly and accommodating to us. They made great wine and entree recommendations. I had the pasta that had lamb in it and it was so delicious! I can't remember which appetizers we got but those were polished off as we all enjoyed those as well. There is a lot of seating and checking out is really easy, even with a group when we were all paying for things separately. I love the moody decor in the bathrooms and especially loved the Aesop soap and lotion inside. The stalls are a little small and I had to squeeze between the door and sink getting in but that might have just been the particular one I went into. This is the perfect date night spot! I will be back!

Wonderful restaurant. The lamb was divine. We also ordered a fish plate, bread and a pasta dish but the lamb stole the show. Great service to boot.

We lucked out and was able to get seats at the counter without having a reservation. We started the meal with the burrata which was beautifully presented and tasted great. The steak was perfectly cooked and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the celeriac was. It was my first time eating celeriac and I'm a fan. In hindsight, we probably could have skipped the charred broccolini. It was merely okay.

Spaghetti. Largest clams I've ever seen. Pasta tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly.

These days parents need to be aware of modern day ailments: gluten intolerance, lactose issues and peanut butter allergies, all things we have to take in regard. I chose to have the lemon and yoghurt bombe alaska that was fantastic. The right amount of sweetness and tartness. We would have appreciated the waitress explaining that some of the chocolates came as shards and the others as bon bons, so we felt like we were tricked into ordering something. The cookie dough macaron was good but didn't remind us of cookie dough, more of a chocolate macaron. We left wanting a lot more from our experience chocolate- and pastry-wise.

A raspberry chocolate croissant, a chocolate brioche, and a canele topped my plate. The canele was my highlight, crispy and sweet on the outside and gooey on the inside. The brioche was freshly warm and soft but not too rich. The croissant was on the verge, somewhat stale around the edges but still enjoyable. The ups: these pastries and the olive bread were delicious. Prices are very reasonable too, only $10 all up for the three sweets. La Voie Francaise also boasts an inviting atmosphere that's relaxing but well kempt.
