I had a strange experience with Amanda. I spoke with her at the end of January about my business and what I needed. She seemed to understand and I was thrilled. I let my other bookkeeper go and was expecting the books to get reconciled at the end of March. As time went on I asked her a few questions to make sure my account in QB was set up properly. She said she would clean things up and so it seemed we were on the right track. In the beginning of March I asked her to make sure I was set up and my process was going to work. Our communication had all been by email at this point. It took her at least a week to respond to any questions I had. The last one took 2 weeks. By the end of March she said I was "too hands on". I really don't understand what that means. I wanted her to check and be sure I was doing things correctly so that she could reconcile without problems. If that's too hands on then why is she a bookkeeper? I guess if you're looking for bookkeeping light she might be the one for you. I have a new bookkeeper that's a pro. I had a 30 minute conversation and explained everything. I got set up and ready to go. Not too hard. So happy I made a change. read more
