Called to set up an appointment to get my taxes done - Jack said he didn't have an office and that he worked out of his house. I told him I had already been to his office. We set up an appointment for him to do my taxes on 3/25/22. I went to his office and waited outside for a half hour and again he was a no show. I left two phone messages asking him to call me. Never received a return call. Now I have to scramble to find someone to do my taxes - I'm not very happy with Jack at this point.

This past year (2018 filing year) he misfiled me and I was surprised with a $1400 State tax bill at the end of 2019. I called Ray at least half a dozen times and sent emails and he as completely ignored each attempt (I have learned from other clients that this is a trend for him). I was hoping for some sort of an explanation or at least some advice from him as to how to proceed - I wasn't looking for him to pay the bill or anything (though reimbursing me to help offset my interest charges to the State would have been nice). I am sorry to leave a negative review for someone who was great most of the time, but his lack of communication when I needed him most leaves me no choice.

They didn't send in our 1095 As that prove we had health insurance and our refund is on hold. Nothing like getting letters from the IRS! H & R Block initially told us we owed thousands of dollars in taxes and showed us how to set up a payment plan with the IRS. Then they called to say that the amount we owed was actually the amount of our refund! The call was to say they made a few more mistakes and our refund would be $300 less. I called and spoke with the owner who said that the person who prepared our taxes usually just does data entry and joked that "it was better than being wrong the other direction". I paid $108 to have my taxes professionally prepared but it ended up being a huge headache to clean up the mess they made. If this standard for H&R Block, I would not recommend this business.

I recently was asked by an Estate Executor to sell his family's long time home in San Francisco. Thru all the minutiae and disfunctionality of the situation, he stayed positive and when new Orders were needed, he researched and then confirmed the research with the clerks and in many case the Orders were prepared the same day. During the confirmation hearing he was prepared with Order in hand, answering all the Judges questions resulting in no delays and the Judge signed the order right there and then..
