Rainbow Limos was highly recommended by a friend and prices seemed quite comparable to other private transport. They picked us up at the Naples train station and drove us to Positano with a stop for a prearranged private tour (that they set up) of Pompeii, then at the end of our stay picked us up at our hotel and took us to Naples airport. If you have the budget I would highly recommend the guided Pompeii tour - I think we got a lot more out of it than if we had been wandering around on our own. They were efficient in communication ahead of time, very clear on details and prices via email, on time/ahead of time for pick ups, and we felt very safe with them. They were extremely kind when our train from Rome was delayed and helped make sure our private Pompeii tour could still happen. Would absolutely use them again!

I…read morecould've taken the local train to get to Sorrento, then take the Sita bus and saved lots of money but considering we were limited on time because we only planed on being in Positano for just one day, it wasn't worth the hassle. A friend said she took the shuttle bus as got nauseous so that's no way to start and end a vacation in this coastal paradise. I ended up contacting several companies to get quotes for shared shuttle vs private "coach" and after much analysis, it was more efficient and worth the extra Euros to pay for a private coach. Positano Transfer gave me the best deal of all the companies that offered private chauffeur services so I contacted them via email 2-3 weeks prior to my trip and did a lot of back and forth emails about where to pick us up. Naples or Sorrento to save some money. To avoid hassle and confusion we just settled for getting picked up at the Naples train station and getting transported to our hotel in Positano. The return trip was from our hotel to Naples airport. Verdiana was super patient and gave me all the requested quotes. Our driver picked us up from the platform even though we went looking for him at the exit of the station. I eventually called Verdiana who helped contact the driver and united us. He was informative and pointed out some major sites and stopped to let us take some pictures off the Amalfi coast. The van was a Mercedes and was clean and comfortable. I believe this company offers private personal tours as well that will take you wherever you want but you have to coordinate that and prices are probably different. Overall we paid less than 200 euros to get a round trip personal driver from Naples-Positano. Going rates elsewhere was more.

We had plenty of room for our luggage--three women travelers. The driver was informative and told us about the area. He was a skillful driver who managed the windy hills once we left Sorrento. The road was a challenge to pass anyone especially buses and large delivery trucks. He made it look easy and that kept us calm. What a beautiful ride. The same company picked us up a week later to transport us to Rome. What a lovely ride and picturesque countryside. The drive was pleasant and told us about the scenery and what we would soon see. It was a three hour trip. We were comfortable and enjoyed our ride. We would highly recommend this company.

They have wonderful cars (mostly Mercedes of various sizes) and can do any type of transport that you may require from airport transfer, to day trips to even finding you a guide at local tourist sights such as Pompeii or Ravello. And unlike some other companies, all of these drivers speak perfect English so there is no need to struggle with your Italian (good thing for this language challenged gal!) I used them to take us to Ravello and our driver, Gianluca, was so delightful that we immediately booked him for an additional day trip to take us to Sorrento and Pompeii. What makes them so special is that they go the extra mile. When we got to Ravello, Gianluca knew a local restaurant to take us to for lunch that wasn't even on our list and the food was great and the staff very welcoming. He also knew to take us across the valley so we could look back on the gardens we were going to go to and see how beautiful they were on the edge of the coast. Trust me- you don't want to be renting a car and driving yourself on the twisty, turning roads that make up the Amalfi Coast. There were times where we were backing up to let the large tour buses go by and other times where we just had to pull to the side of what looked like a complete drop off to let big trucks go by. I felt safe, and confident the entire time we were in Gianluca's car. And here's a treat. When our driver heard we were in Italy celebrating birthdays, he went out of his way to call his friend who worked at Li Galli Restaurant (see my review) and get us the best table in the house and this on a Friday night! This service will run you about 200 euros for 4 hours and 50 euro for each hour after that. And while they do take credit cards, they don't take Am Ex so know before you go. Definitely a great service provider with some of the friendliest people in town! Every time we walked by their office (which was just around the corner from our villa) the drivers would come out to say "hi" which again made us feel like we were highly appreciated! Thanks guys!

There with a warm personality and a willingness to assist in any way, was Luigi! Little did we know the Pope had just made his rounds through Naples, so the entire city was Shut Down. The Train we planned on catching to Rome was completely sold out along with the next several trains after it. Simply amazing that he just added 6 hours(3 each way) to a night he probably didn't plan on driving after dropping us off. Our hotel booked us rides to and from Naples with this company. We had one very good ride with a…read moredriver who was really friendly and excited it was our first time on the Amalfi coast. He didn't speak much English, but he used a translation app to talk to us a bit, which was nice. Unfortunately our second ride wasn't great; we were picked up at 8 AM and the driver told us we'd need to pay cash because the office wouldn't open until 9:30. That was the first we'd heard of that and we were almost out of cash. We asked him to stop at a bank so we could get cash (without exorbitant fees) and he refused and wanted us to go to roadside ATMs with crazy fees. We ended up arriving at 9:30 so we could pay by card, so it didn't even matter anyway. Then the driver pointedly told us tip wasn't included, which I found really obnoxious and inappropriate. We felt forced to give him 5 Euros even though we weren't really happy with his service. I think they're also overpriced; we were charged 120 EUR for each ride but were quoted 85 by another company that shuttled us to dinner one night (Flavio & Gioia cab service). I'd use them instead.

We had two drivers: Rocco, who handled the Rome, Naples & Pompeii trips; and Umberto, who drove us from Naples to Ottati & Castelcivita. Both men were professional, charming and friendly, as if your Italian relatives were driving you. Umberto became somewhat of a legend on that trip, since he took us to the towns our families came from and became our interpreter. And oh... Umberto is the father of Giovanni, who runs Benvenuto Limos. (We sent a video to them as a thank you.) This August at the last minute (well, for me at least, during June) after much urging by my wife and the people of Ottati I attended the 75th Anniversary of the opening of town's aqueduct. Fundraising was done by my great uncle and others in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, my hometown, as well by a group in Pennsylvania. There was no way I was driving two hours up the mountains. My wife told me to call Giovanni and Benvenuto and guess who picked me up in Naples? Umberto! And he picked me up a couple of days later to take me back to Naples. They organized for us to have a private guide in both places and we stopped for an amazing lunch at a winery on Mount Vesuvius during the day. The wine tasting and food was incredible. This was a must all thanks to the Benvenuto team. One of the most memorable moments was our dinner in Positano at a restaurant that is a little bit hidden from the main touristy area, La Guarracino. Giovanni personally called the restaurant to get us a reservation and gave us recommendations of what to order. The assorted chefs choice sea food plate was one of the best things we've ever had and the whole night was so magical. This trip was so special and memorable for my family.
