From the time I called to make the camping reservation, to buying food at the diner, to renting a…read moreboat, the staff consistently came across as rude and condescending. Multiple interactions felt unnecessarily dismissive, which made the overall experience frustrating from the start. There was also confusion around pricing. My friends who came to visit the campsite were charged the same amount just to park in the site as I paid for the full three-day camping reservation. At that point it would have made just as much sense to reserve the surrounding campsites. When we asked about it, staff told us the rates had changed that month, but that explanation didn't seem to line up since my reservation price had not changed. The water conditions near the campsites were also quite poor. Additionally, after three separate trips here and renting boats each time, we have yet to catch any trout. The only fish we've managed to catch are small sunfish. Given that trout fishing is one of the main reasons people travel here, that was disappointing. This was my third visit, and unfortunately the experience has been consistently underwhelming. Between the customer service, pricing issues, and fishing conditions, I would personally recommend looking at other nearby lakes or rivers instead of making the trip out here.

My daughter's like a monkey, you can never get her off the climbing wall. So we opted for the all day pass. My husband was also able to belay for her the whole time. SkyJump Trampoline: $12 for 5 minutes. You wouldn't think 5 minutes would be long enough, but it's the right amount of time. Especially if yours is a toddler or a 3yo strapped in a harness attached to bungees! Or if yours is an 11yo trying to flip herself over but can't. All in all, safe and fun. The employees at both activities were professional and great with the kids. Next time, we'll have to try the ropes course!

If I remembered correctly admission is $6. Rides are $5 for 3 rides. (They only have 3 rides: boat ride, train ride, & carrousel) OR $9 for unlimited rides wristband. We ended up getting the wristband but it wasn't worth it, as the park was extremely packed and the lines for the rides were pretty lengthy, we only got on each ride once, but I'm sure on a regular day with no event happening, it's worth it to get the unlimited. Carrousel was so fun, goes pretty fast. Train ride was funny with all the things you pass and see along the ride, and the tunnel was the cutest, get ready to get your phone out and take a video. They even have a little water park so be sure to pack an extra pack of clothes for the kiddos unless you don't mind them getting soaked and getting back in your car. They have a food stand with foods like hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, chili, chips, shaved ice, fountain drinks, etc. We didn't purchase food here but prices ranged from $4-$8 I believe. This was a great way to spend a few hours and let your kids run around, play and tire them out. I'd definitely bring my daughter back. I love a good spin and flip ride, but when the flips and spins come one right after the other and don't seem to stop, that's when you lose me. I was surprised they didn't have more in between roller coasters, ones that weren't just for 7 year olds or the ultimate thrill seekers. I've been to Great America a ton and was expecting some more options like that. We came at Christmas time and were pleasantly surprised to see how great they decorated the place. It was so festive and fun to see. I loved the gingerbread village and the reindeer roundup. It was a cold rainy weekday when we were here, so the park was pretty empty and we didn't have to wait for anything. In fact, each time a ride ended they offered you to stay on and ride again without even having to move. We waited in line to buy tickets for just that day and luckily the guy at the window told us they were about half the cost if you got them online, which we were able to do on the spot on our phones. Kinda strange that the cost to buy in person is so much more than buying online, but we were very thankful that was shared with us.

Long story short, our plan changed when my son got triggered and dysregulated when he saw my daughter and I put life vests on as required for the boat ride. He started to stim and have vocal outbursts. While I was trying to calm my son down, the staff present was very patient, kind, understanding, and accepting of my son's autism/differences. They told me that they would wait for as long as it took if time was what my son needed. They were also very accommodating when my son refused the idea of going on a paddle boat and offered Kids Kove playground as an option if interested. The staff at Quarry Park were AMAZING!!! I appreciate that they are an inclusive park, that provides a welcoming environment for all children, regardless of their abilities. Words cannot express my gratitude.

Kids under 12 need a chaperone, and you need to stay together. Went with my 5, 8 and 10 year olds, and the 5 year old could not reach the clips and needed help at every transition. My risk taker 8 year old had the best time and could have stayed for 4 hours. The 10 year old was done after about an hour. The kids cove rope playground is $10 a person and you could easily spend 2 hours there. It is hot! They provide water. TIP: if you want to do the 2 or 4 hour adventure or the ropes course, you need to take their 30 min training course on how to transfer the clips between cables, that happen on the hour and half hour. So you would need to arrive 30 mins before the 2 or 4 hours. Ie - we started the training course at 230 and then did the 2 hour from 3-5.

We paid $25 each for the tour and they also have a crawl tour. You just see the main part of the cave on the $25 tour!

Lol this was back in November. The staircase was crazy!!! My legs were sore for 4 days afterwards!! Omg! Lol It was definitely a fantastic adventure to visit the cavern and to walk that down deep underground. Pricing was okay. I think it was like 20 or 30something per person. They took a group photo of us, which I ended up buying. Lol They also have a small gift shop when you exit with memorabilia and little Knick-knacks. If you happened to be near the area, I would say it's a great place to visit! Probably better for adults or teens. It's harder for little kids or elderly people because of the stairs. We've been to extravagant light shows, like Luminaria Lights at the Botanical Gardens in Southern Cali, so that was our comparison and we honestly weren't expecting much with Imaginarium. Really happy that we decided to give this a shot! It was held at the Cal Expo so parking is extremely generous. However, we went on a Thursday evening in early December to avoid the crowds and I, for one, absolutely appreciated not having any lines or difficulty going in and out of the parking lot. Hardly anyone was there on a Thursday evening on the first week of December but I can imagine it would've been annoyingly packed if we went during rush season closer to Christmas or weekends. Pretty hilarious how we initially thought the front entrance exhibits and cute little photoshoot setups were it, until we walked past some food vendors to be shocked and awed at the enormous amount of creative setups they had in the main staging area. There was even a little circus act for some entertainment! Enjoy your time with family, walk around to your leisure, and they even had lots of neat room setups to experience. The kids enjoyed the art exhibit the most where they could color in beautifully drawn artistry with chalk! Santa was available for photos towards the exit.m at no charge. Nice! Tipped him, of course, to care for his elves and reindeer. Biggest tip is to be aware of where the restrooms are in case any urgencies arise. We found them to be to the right of the main area once we passed the food vendors thanks to friendly staff and security personnel. Highly recommended for everyone around the Sacramento and Roseville area, near and far! Great for families, dates, solos, and friends. Security is tight since it's Cal Expo so it felt rather safe for our family. Lovely organized event and enjoyed a magical evening surrounded be a wonderment of lights and glamor!
