Went for date night and sat at the bar and had a great time. Food and drinks were delicious! Service was impeccable. And it just felt super fun in there. We will be back. read more

AMADO: We had a reservation for three weeks, for six. Less than 24 hours before our dinner (on 4/22/2926) for the family event at Amado, we had a call: - Your reservation is cancelled! This is newer restaurant in Burlingame. We are still in shock, as our friends. Could somebody explain that this is no way to run a business? read more

Great vibes, food and drinks were amazing. Service was perfect. We had a young server Shway, she was so sweet she made sure we tried all appetizers. Definitely will come back for the full menu. read more

Horrific service. Hostess was power hungry and acted like a sad robot. Every customer I spoke to was extremely disappointed . The owner is deparately trying to create a vibe, but everyone was so disappointed. 0/10 read more

I had the wagyu taco (5/5), chicken enchiladas suiza (5/5) and tried the chicken tinga mini tostada (3/5) and queso fundido (3/5). Overall a tasty meal, guava mojito was refreshing and the fresh flour tortillas is a nice touch. I can see where I would agree with some of the not so positive reviews; some of the items I tried werent exactly flavor packed and I think the small portions/lack of sides don't help their case. After all, a mexican plate has at least rice and beans! Little expensive but it is Bgame Ave and I see the aesthetic they're going for. Definitely worth a try especially if you're looking for a nice /authentic experience read more

Service was very friendly and efficient. Good came very fast and was tasty. Need to go back to taste other things but the aguachile, tacos and meatballs were very good. Wine list is expensive. read more

The vibe was bustling! Very fun and hip esthetic inside. The food was absolutely delicious and very authentic. The cocktails were also amazing. Our server was very attentive as well. No complaints there. We experienced 2 disappointing issues: the first isn't a deal breaker but was surprising. We were celebrating a birthday and when I mentioned that privately to our server she asked what desserts we wanted, I said whatever 2 you recommend or are house favorites. I was surprised to see both items on our bill as typically when eating at upscale establishment one celebratory dessert is comped. Our bill was around $450 for 4 people with food, cocktails and a bottle of wine. The second more compelling issue was that the manager asked up to leave when we still had cocktails and wine at the table. He said he had a large party that had been waiting for some time and he needed to put our table with another table. There are 2 ways he could have handled this differently in my opinion: first offer for us to finish our drinks at the bar or second ensure that when booking this restaurant there is a time limit listed so that this is not a surprise. The food, drinks and ambiance was nailed but they could use a little work ensuring their level of service matches their prices especially when choosing to celebrate special occasions since we are so fortunate in the Bay Area to have so many options. read more

The service and ambiance were fine, my issue rested in the nickel and diming. Let me explain- we ordered a dip and when it came it had 3 chips in it. Being there was 4 of us I asked for more and was asked (do you want an order of chips?) a dip should come with enough chips to eat the dip. The next instance was I ordered the carne asada it came with 2 tortillas. I asked for more and same question (do you want an order of tortillas?). I feel if you have ordered items that need a few more chips or tortillas you shouldn't have to pay extra. The food tasted good, but the nickel and diming left a bad taste read more

We sat at the bar and ordered appetizers. The food and drinks were good. Great atmosphere for a group get together. I will be going back.

Ordered the Carne Asad plate. All the edges were burnt and the center was raw. Good drinks, great atmosphere. Parking is difficult. I will be back My waiter Jesus was really friendly . read more

Thank you to the team at Amado for an amazing business dinner experience. The team raved about the food and the attentive service.

Limited menu, small portions, everything comes with slices of jalapeno peppers so everything tasted the same and was spicy but not flavored well. Soup and beans were bland. Dishes took too long to come out; a guy in the kitchen was was standing around and playing with his beard. The light fixtures and tile were really nice. read more

We were able to get a reservation with in 45 minutes of actually being seated. The Paloma's were great !! that we had before dinner. The food was great too and the service. We really enjoyed the Mariachis that were there, making the ambiance really great. Would definitely go back to try other options on the menu. read more

We are happy to have Amado in Burlingame. The food is wonderful and the ambiance is festive. They did a lovely job on the interior decor.

Was expecting more after all the hype. Better than your basic Mexican faire but not the gourmet, regional experience that was advertised. Nice interior and good bar scene. read more

I had a great experience at Amado in Burlingame. The restaurant feels elevated without being pretentious, and you can tell there's real attention to detail in both the food and the atmosphere. The menu goes beyond the usual tacos and burritos and highlights regional Mexican dishes that are harder to find around the Bay Area. The house-made tortillas and masa really stand out, and the cocktails were excellent too. Service was warm and attentive, and the whole place has a stylish Mexico City-inspired vibe. read more

Very impressed with the authenticity of the food. Sometimes upscale restaurants stray from authentic flavor, but Amado nails the high quality authentic-based food. read more

Small portions, inattentive service, flavors are good. Has a Cheesecake Factory vibe. Place to be seen, not to dine. Pricey for what you get. read more

Great addition to the Burlingame dining scene. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. Very nice service and the decor is gorgeous. read more

Great new addition to Burlingame. The steak, fish, and carnitas tacos were great. We also liked the cochinita pibil. We were seated promptly and the service was great. I'm excited to go back to try more read more

Super authentic new Mexican restaurant in Burlingame with incredibly fresh homemade tortillas and top notch ingredients! Was so impressed by the food and the service, a ride for our reservations, and we immediately sat. Our service was prompt. The cocktails were well designed and balanced very flavorful! We ended up sticking to tacos, we have the steak tacos, and the fish tacos, which were really really good. Our daughter had the kids, cheese, quesadilla. We had some other appetizer, which were all amazing. The ambience was great the perfect amount of music and overall I'm so excited to have this new place in Burlingame. read more

Food is really good. Steak was excellent and guacamole was great. All of the food was tasty and delivered fast. The vibes were strong. Good energy. Service was kind of a disaster. The server seemed to not understand anything and we constantly had to repeat ourselves. He also came back intermittently so we would go long periods waiting when we wanted more drinks or food. Bottom line: I will be back, but they need to get a stronger group of waitstaff. read more

What a wonderful experience we had at Amado! Congratulations on your opening such a beautiful restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious. Our server was great, his name escapes me right now but very nice and very accommodating. I love how sweet and welcoming everyone was from the moment you arrive at their door. read more

I had dinner today with my family and it's such an authentic full of flavour delicious Mexican restaurant. The service was extremely top-notch and the ambience as well. It's been awhile since boarding game had such a great place to go for date night fully recommended. read more

Underwhelming! After the hype and decent reviews we expected more. The atmosphere is great the drinks very good, the guacamole also very good. BUT the main courses are seriously lacking flavor and really terribly disappointing. Specifically, the chicken in the Enchilada Suizas is akin to a shredded textured filler.....ZERO discernible spices or marinade....just shredded bland..?....chicken, I guess. Inedible. The Carne Asada is likewise tough, bland and lacking any sort of flavor profile. The coconut flan is acceptable but would be vastly improved with a generous dollop of cream. Service was friendly and efficient....sadly, the food does not merit a return visit. Pity read more

Great experience and service! Go! Environment and Ambiance is fun and the food was excellent.

Came here on cinco de mayo and there was a mariachi band playing outside, amazing tequila inside and such a fun vibe! The food was amazing and we had so much fun! Best new spot in Burlingame! read more

Best Albondigas in the bay no question!!! The chipotle, the beer, the guac, true beauty

Love this new Mexican resturant in Burlingame. Went for the soft opening and everything (the vibe, music, food, drinks, staff) was amazing. Looking forward to going back for the real deal. read more

The ambience was beautiful and the drinks were delicious. This was the best part of the experience. Some of the food was average and some of the food was disappointing and flavorless. For $233 for 2 people, I'd expect a 5 star experience. We're glad we tried it but won't be back anytime soon. read more

Beautiful space, great food! Service was a bit slow but they were still working, kinks out after opening

Great experience good and service was amazing . Ambiance was perfect. The drinks were amazing

Food was fine. Skirt steak, quite good. Drinks tasty. Hostess was odd. Fun atmosphere. Would return.

Absolutely love this new restaurant here in Burlingame! Came here with some friends. The cocktails were amazing. We got the guacamole, gypsy salsa, and the tuna started to start. The tuna was super fresh and perfectly seasoned. As the main course we got a bunch of different tacos, super authentic flavors, and all the ingredients are made from scratch, including the tortillas which were perfectly thin. We got the steak tacos, the fish tacos, and the vegetarian taco. Everything was amazing. The service was great and the ambience is popping. We are so excited to have this new place. Thank you! read more

Such a beautiful atmosphere, all the details are so well thought out and meticulous. Food was incredible, I genuinely wanted to order every single thing on the menu. Cannot wait to go back and try more!!! read more

Disappointed to say the least. Beautiful restaurant with great ambience but food was sub par. I got the Carne Asada, it was one tiny piece that came with a bowl of beans and two tortillas for $29. Not seasoned enough and needed some sort of hot sauce. My friends got the ceviche, each trying the shrimp and scallops. For the price close to $30, the 4 pieces of shrimp were not cooked long enough in the lime juice and were straight up raw! So were the scallops. Cocktails were tiny too! read more

This was good Mexican food (not great) but everything was an additional cost and incredibly small portion sizing. 5 of us and was two of our birthdays. We ordered quite a bit of the menu. Chips and guacamole came with a tiny bowl of chewy chips. Small apps - had to double up most of them. Rice and bean were extra and forgotten about- had to remind our server. I had the beef taco and tortilla app. The meat was (sorry) but disgusting, tasted like the cheapest cut. Took two bites and couldn't finish it. The other 4 of us ordered the main dish ( can't remember the name) which they said was very good but again felt like half the size it should have been. We ordered all the desserts and all three were tiny portions. I've never seen churros made so tiny. Even though one of the husbands said it was two of our birthdays and we saw them bringing sparklers out for other peoples birthdays - they didn't bring it to our table. Our server left before we did and did not mention that she was leaving. As we were leaving I mentioned to the actual manager that it was two of our birthday and NOTHING was done. All he said was sorry, so sorry and nothing more?!?!?We will NEVER be back. One of my worst dining experiences I've had yet. The only real thing they had going for themselves are the margaritas. They were excellent. read more

What I thought was going to be a relaxing evening at dinner was not at all. We arrived and were told that 3 tables were leaving soon. We finally got sat down. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The drinks were about half full?? The empanada was not an empanada by any means. It was 3 plantain slices with black beans mashed inside them. An empanada is a pastry pocket with some time of filling inside. Not happy about the taste or price. Then we ordered entrees. They came. This place gives you no sides. If you want rice and beans it's an extra charge!! Now the most irritating and annoying experience being there was the constant walking around of these men with walkie talkies. The place is not even that large to require all that commotion. It was beyond frustrating. And in addition to that we felt rushed. As far as the food, it was just okay. The restroom is downstairs and the elevator was not functional. Feel bad for people who have physical disabilities. read more
