Service: Excellent service! The atmosphere is vibrant and energetic, and the manager was especially helpful. We asked for something spicy, and he brought us a delicious chili paste. Food: We ordered the halibut and shrimp ceviche. I preferred the halibut--the flavor was better than the shrimp. The portion was on the smaller side. The grilled fish was pretty good as well, although I wish there had been more onions on the side to balance the fish. Overall, a lively place with great service and some enjoyable dishes.

I came on a Tuesday night, and it was so busy!! Luckily I had a reservation. I had the carne asada arrechera, and it was so good! It was quite filling! My friend had 3 tacos, and she really enjoyed those, too. Service was great! It's a really nice ambiance and would be perfect for a date night.

Had a great experience at Amado! The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and made for a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. A special shoutout to Ricardo, our bartender who provided excellent service and helped make our visit even more enjoyable. We had a nice conversation with him which didn't seemed forced or fake. The drinks were delicious: we tried the guava mojito and agua verde. We started with the fresh guacamole, homemade chips, and salsa, and everything tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The michelada was also fantastic--well balanced and refreshing with a good homemade miche mix. For our meal, we shared the chicken tinga tostadas, which were delicious and packed with flavor. Between the great food, tasty drinks, and inviting atmosphere, this is definitely a place we'll be coming back to. Highly recommend!

weekend reservations for a group of men...parking is always a challenge, but finding in a lot further away...arriving and seated...starting with drinks...a modelo $12...mezcalita and margarita $16 each...paloma and mojito cocktails $18 each...just to give an idea to cost of drinks at amado...service is efficient and prompt...deciding to order a variety and simply share...long list of items ordered...starting with cocktail shrimp $20...tangy tomato juice soaked shrimp with avocado, jalapeno, tomato, cilantro and more...a cup full and decent...requesting more crackers and provided...short rib mole $40...short rib was tender, but a small portion...mole flavors were a bit lighter...wanting more richness and complexity to the mole...chicken enchiladas $28 was very basic and standard...two tortillas filled with shredded chicken breast...pork, rice and plantains $36...taste of the sauce was good with the rice...pork was tender and shredded, but just okay...needed a change and getting a caesar salad $15...fresh, light and tasty...halibut ceviche $28 to also break up the meaty meal...tangy and tasty, but another small portion...ribeye steak $80 was the priciest item, but also the favorite...cooked perfectly medium rare as requested...seasoned perfectly and the steak was juicy and delicious...carne asada arrachera $36 was average, so get the ribeye steak instead...ending meal with churros $12...other items ordered, but too much to mention...the appetizers and starters are portioned small and prices are high, so stick to ordering all mains to share for better value...service and staff are speedy and great...ribeye was the only memorable dish...rest of the food is decent...nothing bad...

Meeting some friends for a Friday get together and I got there early and as I was trying to walk in the hostess blocked the entrance and asked if I needed help so I said that my friend had a reses so she had me seated quickly. It was a strange as each of my friends who were coming in were also blocked and questioned so not sure why this was the process as it would have been nice if I could have gone to the bar to wait or in the area where there was couch and a couple of chairs. As the far as the food, had the shrimp taco, ceviche tostada & pablano quesadilla and all had good flavor and each were individually unique so it all paired well with the house margarita. The service was fine and the food came out quickly but we just got the feeling they wanted to turn those tables as once we finished and didn't order dessert the bill came immediately as they didn't want us hanging out drinking since they never asked if wanted another round.

We came here for Mother's Day. My brother called a few times before being able to lock in a reservation for our large party. This place took over the old Flights location, a prime spot in the heart of Burlingame Ave. Our server was well attentive and friendly, and the food was not your typical Mexican cuisine that most Californians are accustomed to. As you may already know by looking at the menu, the price point is quite high. But the quality and preparation is of their ingredients sets it apart. Their version of the beef taco was on another level! Think of an actual steak served on a handmade tortilla with simple garnishes on the side. I was pleasantly surprised! Their fish entree was also superb. We ordered a bunch of appetizers but I wouldn't recommend this for a large party. However their plantain empanada was so good! We'll be back but probably only for special occasions.

Went to Amado last night to celebrate a friend's birthday and really enjoyed it! Great atmosphere, attentive and friendly service, and the food was very good. The menu has a nice variety of options to accommodate all taste buds, which is always a plus when dining with a group. Such a fun spot for a night out. Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu!

Amado has such a beautiful ambiance. You enter the doors and you see how lively and beautiful it is. The tables are beautiful and the seating arrangement is open and comfortable. The bar is in the center and you see the seating is arranged around it. You get a glimpse of the kitchen and can see the traditional pots used for some of the dishes. Our servers were wonderful and explained the dishes wonderfully. We started with different drinks and these were all made with agave based liquors. I loved the Guapo & Pobre. It was tasty. We ate a few dishes and I'm feeling a bit mixed about the foods. We started with salsa and chips. These were fresh and delicious with a range of spice levels. We shared the Mayan dip made with pumpkin seeds. This was mildly sweet and it was nice to share. You can get tortillas on the side and we had ordered the queso fundido. This maybe needed a bit more flavor. Apparently you can add chorizo to it. We ate it happily but as I reflect, I think I wanted something more interesting with the cheese. We shared the halibut ceviche and this was nice and fresh. We enjoyed this a lot! The entrees came with good timing. We shared our food, family style. We got the Carne en su Jugo, Pescado Zarandeado, Mole Enamorados, Cochinita Pibil. Thoughts on each: Carne en su Jugo: We enjoyed this one the most. The beef was flavorful and the broth was perfectly seasoned! This was a crowd favorite and one from the chef's home region. Mole enamorados: this was a bit disappointing. While the flavors were good to experience 2 different moles, there is no protein so be aware of that. I would not order this again as it only came with plantains. The price seems steep for a lack of protein and difficult distinction between the 2 moles. Call out to folks that you'll probably want to order another dish with protein to feel fully satiated. Pescado: this lacked flavor and although it was presented beautifully, I didn't particularly love the flavor since I couldn't taste anything distinct. Cochinita pibil: this was a heftier amount of food. I liked the flavors but this wasn't as bold as the carne en su jugo dish. I've had amazing cochinita Pibil (check out Poc Chuc in SF!) and I wish this was as bold. It needed a bit more flavor. The coconut flan was delicious and creamy! I didn't taste too much coconut though. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and the food was good (but maybe some dishes missed the mark with flavor). I know it's new so I was very impressed with the service and timing of the dishes. I do think I wanted to enjoy the food more. Thanks to the team though for making the experience very comfortable and fun. This is a beautiful restaurant and I anticipate it'll introduce a variety of delicious dishes.

Came here recently and had one of those meals where you actually pause after the first bite... Chef Gloria is doing something really special. There's a quiet confidence in the food and nothing feels overdone or like it's trying too hard. Each dish is really thoughtful, subtle but still rich in flavor, and everything just kind of builds on itself in a really nice way. It feels both rooted and refined at the same time which isn't easy to do. Every plate we had felt intentional. The kind of food that kind of stays with you even after you leave. Service also stood out. Hansel or was it's Handsome who made the whole experience feel really warm and welcoming without being too much. You can tell they care. Overall just really excited to see a place like this bringing something unique to the community oh and the bathroom is down stairs. Definitely coming back and curious to see their adventure!

Flan desert, the best I've ever had

I love this place, the atmosphere is really nice for friends or date night. Employees are so nice and welcoming. The food is absolutely 10 out of 10......

We had a great dinner at Amado. The halibut ceviche was a delicious starter to share. I had the snapper which was cooked perfectly. I also tried the carne asada arrachera which was flavorful and delicious. Our friends ordered the cochinita pibil (slow roasted pork) which they really liked. I also tried some of the pork but it won't be something I'd order for myself because I liked the fish and steak much better. The staff was very attentive and the decor is nice. We'll definitely go back again.

All of our food came out PIPING hot... like it was challenging to handle because it was so hot! We got two super burritos (one al pastor, one steak/shrimp), a fish taco especial, and a side of rice and beans for our 2 kiddos to share. The fish taco was a huge winner in my book, loaded with guac and tons of flaky, moist fish. It's probably one of my favorite fish tacos I've ever had. My husband and I actually only ate the el pastor burrito while we were there because they were huge. Honestly, not our favorite al pastor. It had a ton of pineapple and was very sweet. However, the steak and shrimp burrito was probably our favorite burrito we've had in a very long time. It was loaded with proteins and very balanced, not too much rice or sour cream. We popped it in the air fryer the next day and shared it, and it reheated up amazingly. TL;DR Rice & beans - 3/5, will retry whole beans next time (I ordered refried and turns out my kids don't like refried beans oops) Fish taco especial - 5/5, no notes Al pastor super burrito - 3/5, tbh this is probably a really authentic al pastor and it turns out we prefer the white people al pastor in our household Steak & shrimp super burrito - 8/5, would come back just for this

I had the carne asada super burrito and it was fine, definitely not something I would wait that long and pay $20 for. The burrito is a decent size which is expected when you're going to part ways with Andrew Jackson. The meat was also lacking in taste and wasn't grilled as much as I would expect. The self serve salsa bar is cool. The deep red salsa just tastes of tomato sauce. Green and slightly orange salsas were decent, not much heat. The pico was overly sweet, lacking in salt and tanginess. Overall, don't see the appeal especially when you have your pickings in Bay Area burrito spots.

I really wish they had a dine-in space so we could enjoy everything fresh. They're takeout only and parking can be a bit tricky, so I'd recommend ordering online and expect to wait a bit. Unfortunately, the pickup experience was disappointing this time. Both the website and text confirmation said we'd receive an order update, but we never got one. We were trying to time pickup with our baby in the car, and when my husband went to check, they told him our food had already been ready for a while. By the time we got home, we had to microwave everything. With the longer wait times, reliable ready notifications would make a big difference. I love the food, but the pickup experience is what brings this visit to three stars. I'd still give them another try and hope the updates improve.

Unfortunately, we ended up waiting an hour and 45 minutes for our food. The issue was not with the app or the delivery driver -- it was with Pancho Villa. After waiting approximately 50 minutes, I wanted to cancel the order, but I was informed that if I canceled, Pancho Villa would not refund my money. At that point, I would have had to forfeit nearly $70 that I had already spent. In this economy, who can afford to lose almost $70 and still not receive their food? My driver was incredibly kind and helpful. He connected me with Pancho Villa because they were not answering their phone. We were told that they were short-staffed because three employees had called out sick. I completely understand that unexpected staffing issues happen, However, if a restaurant knows that they are short-staffed and cannot fulfill orders in a reasonable amount of time, they should not continue accepting third-party delivery orders. Customers should not be left waiting for nearly two hours with no reasonable option to cancel and receive a refund. We were left hungry, frustrated, and feeling like our money was essentially being held hostage because canceling the order meant losing our $70. I hope Pancho Villa will take this as an opportunity to reconsider how they handle third-party orders when they are understaffed. Customers deserve transparency, reasonable wait times, and, most importantly, a fair option to receive a refund when a restaurant is unable to fulfill an order within the promised timeframe.
