Mung bean patties in this dish - yum!

This is kind of like opening a door to a secret and magical place. AMA Kitchen is set back from the street. Waaaay back. So you might miss it - if you see a big white building - that's it. Service was fast and friendly for a recent Sunday brunch. And incredibly yummy. I had sort of a version of eggs Benedict except it was served on mung bean patties. Yum. Highly recommend!

Brunch at Ama Kitchen in Madison did not come to play! This was my first time dining here, and let me tell you... I'm already planning my return. I went with the steak and eggs, and babyyyy that steak was cooked perfectly -- juicy, tender, seasoned just right. Every bite had me smiling. The whole meal came out fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with a warm vibe that makes you want to sit and stay awhile. Parking was a little tricky, but there's actually plenty available--you just might have to look for a minute. Overall? An incredible brunch and amazing service. Ama Kitchen, you've got a new fan. I'll definitely be back!

A really cute spot! Service was welcoming and friendly. We ordered the samosa and I got the lamb palungo with the dal. The samosa was very flavorful and had a lighter exterior which was pleasant. The dal was also tasty. I really enjoyed my main dish! Tender lamb with a well seasoned stew made this a very comforting meal. I would definitely dine here again.

I dined in on a Friday evening. Fortunately there was one seat available. They have a very small parking lot. Chances of finding a spot is very thin. But there is street side parking available. Chicken biryani was my favorite item here. It was flavorful, but the quantity was very small. Bison momo was my favorite appetizer. Ama lassi (pomegranate) and mango lassi were good drinks. Chiya (tea) was ok. I had a masala dosa as well. It could have been crispier. Lamb tikka kabob was good.

Enjoyed an exceptionally fresh flavored breakfast this morning at AMA Kitchen. The food was deliciously flavored even before adding the sauces that it was paired with. Don't miss the opportunity to try this place out for brunch, lunch or dinner.

Excellent new Eastern restaurant on Williamson Street. All of the dishes were done with such artistic flair! The flavors were dancing in our mouths, excited for the next bite! Eggs were poached to perfection & the scrambled were fluffy & delicious! Akash was a super friendly, attentive & knowledgeable. Very warm & cozy place with lots of interesting decor.

100% a new neighborhood go-to spot for us! Cozy inside and beautifully decorated with tons of interesting plants to look at in the space while you're there, which I love! I haven't had anything here that wasn't excellent - but on top of that, the staff are so friendly and welcoming, we have already been telling all of our friends to go... even though we'd sometimes prefer to keep it to ourselves Can't wait to keep going and trying new menu items!

Fantastic. The steak was cooked perfect and the potatoes were amazing. Would definitely go here again

Do you ever find yourself hesitating to post about a restaurant because you want to keep it a hidden treasure in Madison? That's how I feel about Ama's Kitchen. Up a driveway between the former Taco Local and the Mad Rabbit on Willy Street, this tucked away spot is full of good energy and bespoke finishings. The super cozy vibe is complemented by the stellar food. The pakoda was a great GF appetizer of onions covered in chickpea flour and then deep fried. The accompanying sauces added some zing to the already scrumptious oniony flavor. My spouse and I shared the beet salad and lamb palungo. The beet salad had such vibrancy and crunchy elements which made it very refreshing. The lamb palungo, which is a stew, was slow braised and fell apart with a fork. The warming spices made it perfect for the cold winter night we visited. We ended the meal sharing a slice of mango cheesecake with pistachio. The not-too-sweet cheesecake was the perfect ending to the meal. On another visit, I split the takari (rotating vegetable stew) and masala dosa with a friend. Both were divine! I highly recommend Ama's Kitchen. The owner and staff all went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Oh, and the murals and art on the inside are such a homey vibe.

Smoked salmon omelette for two meals!

Amazing brunch! This spot is a hidden treasure. But you will find 809 Williamson hiding in plain sight behind 805 Williamson! And you should find it! The space is gorgeous and lovingly curated. The food is outstanding. We can vouch for the smoked salmon omelette and the Phull Mumari (poached eggs and avocado sauce over mung bean and edamame patties.) Choice of nicely seasoned potatoes or fresh greens. Accompanied most pleasantly by an Ama Spritz and a good Sauvignon Blanc. VERY pleasant wait staff. He was very patient with our choice to sit at a second-floor table, overlooking the lovely space below. Already looking forward to a return visit.

I was skeptical when I realized we had to order our food at the counter vs. being seated and served. I didn't like having to pay gratuity prior to being provided any service. We ordered Chilaquiles and the French Toast. The chilaquiles was not authentic but we really liked it! Would definitely recommend. Same for the French toast! Yummy. The fruit was so sweet and fresh. The almonds were a nice touch. 5 Stars for the food. I liked that the water was self service. I liked that take out boxes were readily available. I didn't have to ask or wait in either case. I think the only negative of our visit was having to find parking.

The service was absolutely great, and the restaurant has a lively, charming vibe. It does tend to get busy, so I'd recommend arriving at a reasonable time. I ordered the French toast, which was clearly their own elevated take on the classic. The flavors were good, but the texture was a little different than I expected and threw me off slightly. It felt more like a chic, creative version of French toast rather than the traditional style, which is the only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five. Everything else was fantastic, though, and I'd definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

It was Thursday evening and they had a ribs/pulled pork special. We waited about 10 minutes at the bar for a table. The bar and atmosphere is great. Pretty bar lights and an old wood bar. I'd definitely come back.

I had the wedge salad which was over a half head of fresh crispy lettuce. Two dressings combo so refreshing. The cheese tray was nice for $14.00. Overall service was great and the food was good.

We had reservations, so we were seated right away which was a plus. Also, I will say I don't think any of the issues we had were because of our waitress. She was super friendly and quick enough to take our orders on a day when there restaurant seemed full enough, but manageable. We got our drink orders in and our food at the same time to speed up the process for getting little kids food, and the waitress even took note of that. We also ordered an appetizer to help during the wait. It took a while for the drinks to come out, but they were all rather tasty. I think my apple cider mocktail was the best and refreshing since it was getting hot in the restaurant with the sun beating in. Our food however took forever and the kids meals did not come out any earlier than everyone else. One person in our group also initially didn't get his meal, which the waitress apologized and said there was a mixup in the kitchen. That's fine, it happens, but then the staff running meals tried to bring him the wrong order 3 times. The rest of us were all finished eating by the time he finally got his food. Overall, the food was fine. I got the eggs benedict which was a little underdone on the eggs for me as the whites were too runny for me. The kids chicken nuggets were pretty tasty with a flaky breading. I heard decent reviews of the breakfast burger, but the thing that was the best to us was the breakfast sandwich. It was quite messy, but the messiness of the sauce was worth it. We also got an appetizer of the cinnamon roll. I feel like it's a little mislabeled though, as it was more like a morning bun with some frosting/glaze over the top. Tasted pretty good and helped keep kids entertained for a while. Overall, the food was fine, but the experience wasn't great. With the multiple mixups in orders and getting a little green house effect going with the sun shining in, there wsnt a great feeling when leaving. Again, I don't think it was our waitresses fault, so not sure what was going on in the kitchen.
