For the past six years we have lived with an almost unusuable outdoor space for our kids and family to play and entertain. Had our consultation a couple of weeks ago. My wife and I were hoping to learn some ideas on how best to transition our yard to a desertscape. I'm unsure if it was intentional or not, but the rep was extremely condescending. She told us that they don't usually do any jobs worth under $50,000 and the wait was 7 months before they could help us. It was odd because we did not voice any concerns or questions about pricing that would warrant such a statement without our asking her first. She was holding a clipboard but had no photos, design suggestions, or feedback regarding any desertscape clients that her company had helped. She seemed reluctant to provide any direction whatsoever. It was as if she was only interested in us telling her exactly what we wanted. Ari did not tell us to have a full design idea prepared for the rep before she arrived. I did so on the same day but have not heard back. I called him a couple of days later and left a VM- no return phone call yet. I cannot understand the lack of professionalism. If the job is too small or they cannot take it on for some reason, at least give the potential customer the respect of a return call/email! The work they were doing was very clean and he looked really happy working on his project. Two years later, I'm really bummed to look back at my original review. I continue to be very happy with the original landscaping Ari and Medi completed for me. But not how they have treated me since then. Below is, verbatim (with my info redacted), the most recent exchange I had with Medi. I was completely baffled to receive this message. When I followed up with her via text message, she essentially communicated to me that if she doesn't respond to my e-mails, it's my job to instead track her down by text or call. I've never before heard of someone blaming the client for their own unresponsiveness. I indicated that I'd like to finish out the month with them and then stop service. Instead, Ari terminated our arrangement immediately. I'm not sure what is going on these days but my experience is a far cry from where we started and I hope these two change their path. I should add that I had been paying them *extra* each month for a long time now to thank them for their service. I really don't know where this came from. Aria recently completed a major relandscaping of our property, and we were extraordinarily impressed by his work as well as his positive energy. I first reached out to Ari via email while we were living abroad (in China), and he responded within 24 hours. From that first email exchange until today, his responsiveness and attention to detail have been spectacular. Our project was a very large undertaking that included complete redesign of both our front and back yards. Ari and his crew demolished an existing (brick) patio structure, leveled (extremely) uneven ground, constructed a privacy fence around ¾ of our property, and installed pavers and artificial turf in both front and back. He beautifully xeriscaped much of the front yard, and even accompanied us to the nursery personally to help us select plants. He also built a lovely 12 foot x 12 foot wooden pagoda in the back yard, as well as planter boxes and an irrigation system for our kitchen garden. (Before/after pictures are in the photos above.) The job was finished precisely on time, and the craftsmanship is excellent throughout. Ari stayed precisely on budget, notwithstanding certain change orders that my wife and I requested during the process. We recently had AM Landscape redo the landscaping in both our front and back yards, using a plan created by an outside designer who did not participate in the installation. The project included extensive planting, conversion of our existing irrigation system to drip, the extension of pavers and a retaining wall, and the addition of gravel and a fence, among other aspects. Ari, Medi and the AM crew were organized, efficient, friendly, accommodating, did the work with great care, communicated with us very well, and clearly knew what they were doing. We are extremely happy we chose them for this project. Examples of the care and commitment shown by everyone on the crew: Medi went out of her way to find a good match for our ten year old discontinued pavers, and worked with me to make our existing landscape plan even better when some of the plants were unavailable. I just had my yard finished my Ari's Team from AM Landscape and I don't think I've ever dealt with a contractor that is as professional, responsive, and helpful than they were. The project encompassed both my backyard and front yard. Ari and Medi were both incredibly respectful and professional the entire time. The project moved very quickly, and they worked as hard and as quickly as they could given the rainy weather in February. The team would often get as much work as possible done even though it was starting to rain. I believe they finished the entire project within 15 full working days, but the rain kept them away a couple of days. During the project, Ari was very good making sure we were as hands off as possible, solving issues and problems that arise on his own unless he knew it needed owner approval. Whenever something needed to be fixed or added to the cost, he gave me options and the opportunity to call someone I knew before he called his own guys in. We didn't get a ton of quotes for the project, but I think the level of service and professionalism I received was definitely worth how much we paid. We picked Ari and Medi for a small front-yard project because of the great reviews - and because they're based nearby in Scripps Ranch. They were communicative, reliable, and punctual. We had to wait a few weeks to start because they had projects booked out, but they were able to start our project a little earlier than estimated and did a fantastic jobs replacing wood chips and non-native plants with beautiful river rocks and succulents. For a much larger (and more expensive) backyard project, even though we loved AM Landscaping's work, we got three other quotes as well as a proposal from Ari and Medi. Their quote was the most competitive (by far), and they also had the most creative ideas to make best use of our backyard's layout. We had to wait a couple months to start based on their workload, but they started and completed the project on their promised timeline. They replied to emails well, rolled with some of our last-minute changes, including minimizing any change order costs. AM Landscaping basically turned our backyard from a uneven patch of dying grass with a bunch of non-native plants to another 1200 square feet of living space.
