Sew Beautiful Alternations is a nice Korean lady who I have been going for about 2-3 years now. She has always done a great job at hemming my pants and is willing to walk through it with me on why she prefers it a certain way while still taking my thoughts into consideration. I prefer someone who is willing to value my thoughts and also willing to not just do what the customer wants when it may not turn out well. English isn't her first language but she's always done great at explaining the process with me. Turnaround time is usually pretty quick, but I recommend not rushing her and let her do her thing since she's the professional. Definitely come with resources that you may need for her to get the exact measurements on how you will wear your items such as bringing the correct shoes, belt to hold up the pants, etc. Again, please do not confused this location with Sewing Specialties. They're both great locations, but I definitely feel more connected with Sew Beautiful Alternations. If you are looking for a place to get some clothes alternates, I highly recommend coming to this nice Korean Aunty at Sew Beautiful Alternations.

My wedding dress is chiffon, and she created the most gorgeous custom bustle in the back that made it look beautifully layered and flowing. Beyond her extraordinary skill, she made me feel beautiful. That kind of thoughtfulness goes so far beyond what any seamstress is required to do. After I picked up my perfectly hemmed, bustled, and altered dress, I had a small panic moment (actually, a major panic moment) when I realized the style looked slightly different than I remembered from when I originally ordered it from Anthropologie. For four shirts it came to $48, pretty steep but mayyybe understandable if each one is being dry cleaned. I counted one, the black silk shirt that was actually dry cleaned, the rest smelled different. My main issue, my blue silk shirt came back rough to the touch, wrinkled or creased all over, and felt like sand paper. They washed it in water then pressed it with starch. Ruined the item. I just paid $30 for it off eBay so wanted it cleaned, it was perfectly fine but to be sure I wanted it cleansed before wearing. For these prices it should have came back meticulous. Alas it wasn't. I give one star because the guy was nice enough. Buyer beware.

I would not recommend Anna for wedding dress alterations. When I initially picked up my dress, I…read moresaid it was fine, but the appointment felt very rushed. The appointment before mine had run over, so Anna squeezed me in while her other customers were waiting outside. She did not completely button the dress for me to properly inspect it and asked if everything looked okay. I could tell something felt off, but I couldn't quite figure out what it was at the time and felt pressured to just go with it. When I got home and tried the dress on properly, I was horrified to find that it no longer fit correctly. The paneling was the wrong color, the fabric that had been added was extremely thick and restrictive, to the point where I could barely breathe, and the cups she added were completely the wrong size. I took the dress to another seamstress, where three different ladies looked at the alterations and agreed that the work appeared rushed and was not up to the standard expected for a wedding dress. I contacted Anna to ask for a refund, at minimum a partial refund to help cover the cost of having another seamstress fix the work. Instead of working with me, she became very confrontational and repeatedly demanded that I bring the dress back. Given how important the dress was and how little time I had before my wedding, I did not feel comfortable putting it back in her hands. She ultimately became angry and hung up on me. I understand that I should have inspected the dress more carefully at pickup, but the way the situation was handled afterward was extremely disappointing. I would not trust Anna with such an important and expensive wedding dress again.
