I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with my experience with Premier in Taylorsville,…read moreFlorida. What started as an attempt to repair a leaking dishwasher has turned into several hundred dollars spent, conflicting explanations, and a dishwasher that now will not even close properly.
Initially, I paid $100 for a service call. My husband had already replaced what he believed was a faulty top gasket himself. When Premier came out, the technician actually complimented his work but explained that the gasket was not the problem and that another part needed to be replaced. That part was replaced, but the dishwasher was still leaking the very next day. Premier returned and replaced another part. Between the service and repairs, we had spent approximately $350.
The dishwasher seemed fine for a few months, but eventually started leaking again. When I called, I was told I would have to pay another $100 service fee. I explained that we had already invested enough money in this dishwasher and were considering replacing it. After that conversation, Jennifer contacted me and said the service manager would come out and waive the service fee, so we scheduled an appointment.
Unfortunately, that visit made the situation even more frustrating. The service manager insisted that the original gasket my husband installed was backwards, contradicting what the technician had told us during the previous visit. When I questioned how that could be the problem if the dishwasher had worked without leaking for months, he emphasized his 30-plus years of experience.
He then removed the gasket, attempted to reverse it, cut pieces off of it, and struggled to get the dishwasher to close. He ultimately left with a chair propped against the dishwasher and told us to leave it that way for several days in hopes that the rubber would reform enough for the door to close. He said we might need to order another gasket.
Then, despite being told the visit would be free, I was charged $150 for his time. No new part was installed, the original issue was not resolved, and now the dishwasher will not close fully.
I understand that appliance repairs can be complicated, and I have no problem paying for legitimate service and repairs when the terms are clear. What I do have a problem with is paying hundreds of dollars for repeated repairs that did not last, receiving contradictory explanations from technicians and management, being told a visit would be free, and then being charged $150 while left with a dishwasher in worse condition than before.
At this point, I have lost confidence in Premier. I feel that we have spent enough money on this appliance without getting a lasting solution, and I am extremely disappointed with how this entire situation has been handled. I would appreciate accountability for the charges and the condition in which my dishwasher was left.
