Captain Jack helped us on board and provided life jackets which we were required to wear. It was evident he had been sailing for many years as he handled the boat with such ease. You could also see his passion for sailing as he maneuvered the sailboat across the river. My friends and I truly enjoyed our ride. The day of he took all my friends 2 or 3 at a time sailing around Julington Creek for 20ish minutes or so. Each came back with their own magical feeling of what they had just experienced. Capt Jack. was kind and patient and you could tell he loved sailing. He was a story teller also sharing his experiences and history around this river.. I took my trip last as I wanted the sunset and thats exactly what I got. It was beautiful..breath taking.. the wind blowing in your hair ..the sound of the breeze pressing against the sails..sitting with friends and watching the sun set was a very emotional moment and that is what gives me LIFE. We hit some oyster beds and were having a blast with the trout, black drum and whitings. I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Jodi Lyn and would not recommend it to anyone…read more From the moment we boarded the boat, it was clear that this operation was more focused on making money than providing a safe or enjoyable experience for their customers. The captain never introduced himself, the first mate was impersonal and seemed in a bad mood from the start. (Several times throughout the trip he would just be standing there shaking his head to himself). First off, the weather/water was not good. It was uncomfortable, and the crew seemed to know that. We expressed our concern and asked if he (first mate) had been out in this bad before and he assured us that it had been just as bad or worse the two days before and it was ok and fish were still caught. Now, keep in mind we had already rescheduled once due to weather and are perfectly reasonable people who would be willing to reschedule again, especially for that amount of money. We were briefed on safety procedures and life jacket's and were met with dismissive attitudes. The entire trip our friends and family were being tossed around the cabin, off the bench, even the coolers were being tossed around. The fishing itself was poorly organized. The fish weren't biting at all, they offered to go bottom fishing but warned us that the boat would be beaten worse and we would be tossed around more (that right there shows you they knew our experience was already less that pleasant ). The first mate seemed rushed and frustrated through the process. Barely talked to us, did seem to talk more to the younger people on the boat though. There was little guidance or effort to make the experience enjoyable for everyone, and it felt like we were just a means to an end -- filling spots on their boat for a quick profit. What frustrated me the most was how clear it was that safety and customer satisfaction took a backseat to their bottom line. When we called the owner afterwards to express our concerns he literally said "I don't blame them for not wanting to call the boss and reschedule again." This was not a fun, relaxing outing, that we paid for, for our son's birthday-it felt like an operation where we were just numbers to them. Save your money and find a charter that values both your safety and your experience. This one does neither.

Wow we just went out with Capt Drew last night and what an experience! We absolutely crushed the…read moreflounder and sheepshead and had a blast! Drew has such an incredible eye for seeing the flounder. He would see ones that when we would back up and he would point to them, it would still be almost impossible to find until we got right up to them. For context, We had a pretty strong storm earlier in the day. Capt Drew offered to let us cancel if we wanted but we chose to go ahead since it was a day and time that worked for the whole group. When we started out, the water clarity was cloudy but Capt Drew kept us on the Flounder all night!! I say that to say that with less than ideal conditions, he still had us in more flounder than I've ever seen before. And just as he said as the night progressed, the water continued to clear up and we were gigging more and more. I've been gigging 2x before and neither of those trips were anything like this one. Absolutely Awesome trip for the guys or a family and well worth the cost for a lifetime experience! Highly Highly recommended!

This is where I had my wedding reception, and I loved everything about it. This historic home is…read morelocated downtown St. Augustine, right across from the water. The owner renovated the inside so that it's got modern amenities and sleeps six people comfortably. The first time we visited the place, it was like an awakening. It was the PERFECT place for my husband and I to get have our wedding. Of course, we had 85 guests, so the ceremony had to be elsewhere, but this was perfect for the reception. It was the perfect size for everyone to move around freely and still have a small dance floor. Also the price is crazy good. You will NOT find a more reasonable deal in town. Bring in your own vendors and you can create a fabulous wedding on a modest budget. I'm not just saying that because I am the proud bride. I'm saying it because it's a recession and fabulous doesn't normally come cheap. And I don't throw the word FABULOUS around breezily. I'm deadly serious. Anyway, you get the place in all it's charm for three days and two nights. Then you can rent it for an extra day for a good price. And really, you just have to get rid of your trash because they clean and do laundry for you. How is that not perfect? Go there because it made my very special day amazing.

When originally searching for a wedding venue we had a few must-haves, which included a location with historical character, in driving distance from Orlando, and located in a town where out-of-state visitors could enjoy exploring. And so we focused in on St. Augustine. I had a good gut instinct about the Sanchez House from the moment I discovered them online, and I must shamelessly admit that I stalked the websites of every couple who had their wedding at the Sanchez House. We quickly booked a visit to the Sanchez House, because they are only able to hold 12 weddings a year due to being zoned in a residential area. We met with the owner, Blake, who shared with us the history of the home, gave tips from other weddings held on the premise, and shared some of his favorite vendors. When we experienced the venue in person, we fell even more in love with the charm that was evident around every corner of the house! The SH offers a brick courtyard, artificial turf front lawn, large gathering room, dining room, kitchen, office, two bedrooms, small one-car garage, and an attic. Not only can you hold your wedding events at the house, but you are able to stay there, as well. This allowed us and our bridal party, 6 in total, to stay at the house. So convenient! After booking the Sanchez House, we decided to extend our celebration into an entire weekend. Our events spanned from 50 to 90 guests, and SH accommodates them comfortably. The house is in an excellent location by the bay and walking distance to historic St. George Street. At the SH, we were able to select our own vendors. We held our ceremony in the courtyard which transformed to the dance floor. The front lawn was donned with a heated tent and tables on the coldest Florida winter day. It even snowed lightly! Guests had the chance to mingle throughout the house in the dining room, gathering room, and balcony. I would note that the parking around the SH can be challenging, but we gave plenty of parking options for guests through our wedding website and social media, and suggested our guests to stay at one of the nearby hotels or bed & breakfasts. I highly recommend the Sanchez House for any couple looking for an intimate St. Augustine venue!
