We were so impressed with Devin's design skills (including clear scaled digitized plans) and experience that we hired him on the spot. Plus Flawless's pricing was lower than other quotes we got. Icing on the cake. Then the pandemic hit so the job was delayed (NY orders), but Flawless came through after re-opening and did a superb job for us. The new driveway is both beautiful and functional, even our crabby neighbors like it! It was a big job but Flawless's skilled and friendly crew managed to finish in a week. 1 Star - Defective Work, No Contract, Avoided Responsibility…read moreI hired Long Island Mason & Concrete Corp in June 2024 to pour a concrete patio for $5,900. The experience was a nightmare from start to finish. The Problems: The contractor requested payment in cash and never provided a written contract, which is required by New York law for jobs over $500. Within one week of the pour, two slabs began flaking and scaling. I immediately contacted the contractor. The work was done on a 100-degree day. When I raised concerns about the extreme heat affecting the concrete, the contractor acknowledged "this is the result of extreme heat" but refused to take responsibility as the professional who should have managed weather conditions or rescheduled. Months of Delays: Instead of promptly addressing the defects, the contractor stalled for months. When he finally offered to replace the two damaged slabs, he demanded I sign a liability waiver and warned the new concrete wouldn't match the color of the existing slabs - meaning I'd have a permanently mismatched patio due to his defective work. I offered a reasonable cash settlement to resolve the issue. He refused. I had no choice but to file a complaint with Nassau County Consumer Affairs. Official Violations: Consumer Affairs cited the contractor for multiple violations, including failure to provide a written contract (violation 202360, originally a $2,500 fine). He only agreed to a settlement after facing thousands in fines and potential license suspension. Ongoing Defects: After settling, two additional slabs developed structural cracks running completely across the slabs from joint to joint. All four slabs now show defects, confirming my original concern that the entire pour was compromised. Bottom Line: For a $5,900 job, I received a defective patio that required a 7-month battle through Consumer Affairs to get partial compensation. The contractor operates without proper contracts, pours in extreme conditions without adequate precautions, and avoids responsibility when problems arise. I strongly recommend hiring a licensed contractor who provides written contracts, follows proper procedures, and stands behind their work. This is not that contractor.

Oscar and his team quite literally saved my life. When you buy a new home, you never know what surprises are waiting behind the walls. Oscar went above and beyond to make sure I was safe, that the job was done correctly, and that they'd leave with absolutely no trace they were ever there. Mid-project, they had to open a wall, and not only did they patch the drywall, but they painted it, too -- you'd never know it was touched. He took the time to explain everything in detail so I could actually understand the process, documented every step, and made me feel like a true partner in the project. One thing he said that really stuck with me was: "I know you own the house, but it's our fireplace now." That level of care and pride in his work says it all. We ultimately did not go with them (due to costs) but I have friends and neighbors who have used them and their work is impeccable. We recently purchased a tree in memoriam for a family member who passed and they were so incredible in helping us pick out a tree, and even worked with us on delivery costs/timing. I could not recommend them more. Also, they're the only place I'll go to for propane. They don't swap out your tank, only fill the ones that you bring, which I love considering I purchased new tanks when I moved into the neighborhood.
