It was "divine intervention" that led Miguel to knock on my door by mistake in November, 2012, after Sandy. Had he not been given an incorrect address for the party he was seeking, I might still be looking for a competent contractor today.
On that day we first met, Miguel refused to accept a down payment check for gutting and remediating my basement because he wanted me to check out his references first. I knew then I was dealing with a straight shooter. During the following months, each specialized team of workers he sent to address particular aspects of the work I needed - basement demo and remediation, replacement of wood flooring, roofing, brick paving, framing and sheetrocking, oak stairs, epoxy coating on basement floor, suspended ceiling, etc - were fantastic. He must maintain very stringent requirements for his employees. Each and every one was polite and respectful. They cleaned up at the end of each day. They didn't mind my "hanging around" and were always willing stop, listen, and address any questions I had.
After the work was done, I missed the guys after getting to know them all and spending so much time with them. However, we recently needed some additional work on our porch tiles, many of which were damaged as a result of this past winter's extreme cold and snow. Fortunately, we got to see some of the guys that had done such a good job 18 months ago, when all looked hopeless. In the end, my home is in much better shape than it was before Sandy., thanks in great part to the efforts of Miguel and his team of professionals
