FRAUD ALERT - DO NOT HIRE ALVAREZ HANDYMAN I hired Charlie Alvarez (Alvarez Handyman) for roof repair, quoted at $750 to replace flashing, tar paper, shingles, and fascia. -- He claimed the job was complete and sent an invoice describing "fascia replacement, roofing paper, Henry's seal, shingles, trim, and paint." -- He sent angled photos to make it look like repairs were done. -- In reality: **no new shingles, no tar paper, no Henry's seal, and the fascia was left worse than before** -- with gaps and improper angles. When I confronted him: -- He blamed "his guys" and promised to fix it himself. -- Days later, he showed up late and performed a **sloppy, unsafe patch job** -- dozens of nail holes in flashing, a poorly cut eave, and brad nails holding it together. -- I demanded a refund, but he stalled, claiming he needed money back from his subcontractor. To make matters worse, his invoice lists a **fake contractor license number** ("VAT Reg No: Lic#lc20190386"). No valid license exists. This is **fraudulent misrepresentation**. This guy is a scammer, avoid at all cost. He took money from us to pull permits for a job he did not even intend to do. We called the city since he asked for money for demo but the city said no plans or permits were given, plus he doesn't have a valid license. BEWARE and stay away! read more

Charlie was great. I finally got up to my house and realized I could not park anywhere - there was snow much snow. I called everyone! Charlie answered right away and within a half an hour he was at my house with three guys shoveling (I have gravel driveway)! In less than an hour in the cold sleet they had all six parking spots cleared. He totally saved me. Because of that I am going to use him for my seasonal snow removal! Thanks Charlie! read more

Christmas week, after hours on a Tuesday night, and our heater just went out. We have friends staying in our cabin and it wasn't able to get any warmer than 53° inside. We called everywhere with no avail or answer, and came across Alvarez Handyman by some miracle. They were at our cabin within the hour and another hour later the heater was repaired and hot air was flowing. We will continue to use Alvarez Handyman for any repair or emergency work. We came up to big bear on vacation only to get to the cabin and find the drive way needed to be plowed, we called 5 or 6 people no one could come or they charged an outrageous amount. Alvarez handyman answered right away, they were reasonably priced and they showed up quickly. They got the job done quick and cleared the 2ft of snow from the driveway. We were very happy with their service and we would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I called for a service he told me 135$ and I said no I will take care of it Because I need to get it done before my next guest comes in and I simply replied I'll take care of it next time. He simply responded OK no just didn't like the way that he handled his business in a professional manner whether the client was able to take care of it himself or not I believe a good businessman should always be available for a customer with no attitude. I own my own business as well and I have a lot of clients I would like to say OK no when they ask next time maybe we can do some business but you just never say that I ended up fixing the whole thing for $60. I highly recommend Juan Alvarez!!!! Juan replied quickly to my request. We determined the cost of his service (very reasonable) and scheduled him to come the next day. He kept me updated on his arrival time. He was polite and courteous. I showed him what we needed (a ceiling fan and two window shades installed. The owner, Juan was very kind and helpful and he and his crew arrived promptly on Monday morning.
